I honestly miss these kind of tire machines. I now work at a dealer with the automatic stuff where you just push buttons. It’s nice but I don’t feel as in control. I worked at discount tire for 7 months, and by far was my best job. The team and management were phenomenal, we didn’t oversell anything unless it was a safety issue, and I love that we do actual repairs on flat tires. I’m not sure about other dealerships but the one I’m at just uses those plug in ones where you don’t even take the tire out. Anytime a car comes in with a nail in it or a flat tire, I refer them to discount tire that’s less than a mile away. I explain to them that our repairs do work but I highly recommend discount tire since they do it for free and get it done right. I mean on average it’s $50-$60 bucks to repair a flat at the dealer. Plus you have all that dealer crap where you have to wait forever. The only time I would go to a dealer for a tire repair or new tires is if I’m driving a more expensive vehicle like a 992 or anything like that. Overall, I would highly recommend working at discount tire, but I would check the reviews of the place first, because some are awful service while others are amazing!
Just came here to say discount tire is the only trustworthy place I’ve been able to get tires from, had a flat and Walmart wanted to charge me over 200$, not the first time they have screwed us over. Every time I go to Discount Tires, the front desk guy always gives me the same bait and switch routine.... "I'm looking at my inventory and I don't have those tires in stock, but I do have similar brand in stock".
well have them order the ones you want then
Yeah it’s not really a bait and switch thing from what I know as an back room employee they’re generally pretty honest about what we have
Can’t call it a bait and switch if we don’t have it. If you want something ask them to order it.
So use your communication skills to try and get better tired for the same price. Theyll make a deal to get your business that day
why wouldn't you just order the exact size and brand online and make an appointment?
We would be castrated for changing tires that slow lol, 4 minutes is a one time start to finish and an all four is 8-10, we run mirror, keep it up though man. txd_23 👌

How the hell is this a discount tire and you guys arent forced to wear a uniform like the rest ive been to
Why is he wearing stir ups
I’m just a guy sitting in my car up in the air
Didn’t even have to get out or remove my wheelchair
Are you doing that to 5s best practice standards
Shoes are accident waiting to happen
Got 5 yrs XP and they didn't want me 😭
yall dont even need to wear the uniform?
Try to keep that time record with some consideration for your guests wheels. No possible way in hell those wheels left with ought any markings or blemishes. Take care of your guests wheels when they trust in the tire they are buying from you and do so.
Is this a slow tutorial
do you not have uniforms??? i’m so confused. i’m at an america’s tire and they get on our ass if our shirt even has a little bit of muffin top
my store has uniforms i have no idea why they dont
Discount tire regularly over inflates tires to wear them out prematurely. No where in your car manual does it say to ever over inflate tires.
They say they fix nail holes in tires free but mine still leaks air because they did not fix it. Kept my rim and tried to sell me another one. Said my tire pressure sensors were worn out and needed new ones. They are still working fine.
We always inflate tires according to manufacturers specs except for trailer tires which we air up to max psi or whatever customer wants.
Dawg we go off whatever the door says 💀😂 and if ur flat is still leaking take it back to the store and have them check the tire again, if it’s leaking from the plug we will give you a new tire
Yeah we usually add 3 Psi (at least in Utah due to temp fluctuations + they stay in the target range longer)
Keep in mind you can always request to go exactly to OE specs if you want
I use to work at discount tire. Loved it there. Shame i had to drop dirty for marijuana IN MICHIGAN. Smh
curious to know why DT won't rebalance tires that show camber wear. isn't it possible to do?
I ripped a new tire on my first day 😐
The assembly came off the balancer my first day lol
@@Phantom5oh How does that even happen? 😂
i deflated someone’s tire during an air check within the first month or so lol
@@jaden.313 HOW???
@@DevonFiggy idk the valve core just flew out when i took the hose out of the valve stem. i’m assuming the core was lose but idk🤷♂️ it went completely flat😂
Slowest tech at TXS26:
Are you wearing baseball uniforms
Get it brother. Love from vaw_01
i enjoy working for DT bc of the busy work but i never preach about best practices. The same mfs that do that are the same ones that cut corners in the backroom. Best practices are a joke once the rubber meets the road and red shirts are the worst ones.
Facts you couldn’t have said it better 😂
I tried to cut corners and i got in trouble by someone who also cuts corners 😂
dress code???
Mcdonalds
Baran MK6 came in my first day in a McDonald’s uniform and they sent me home 😀
i would’ve been done in 1 min or less with just one
What's the brand of the tire changer??
Ruben Soto COATS
Can i get a plastic duck bill for my rims please!😁
I got my McDonald's order before he mounted the fucking tire you know McDonald's takes fucking forever
been at DT for 2 weeks FUCKIN LOVIN THIS SHIT LETS GOOOOOOOO MAN WORK
Some people shouldn't own vehicles.
if i ever had to wear that shit i’d quit instantly
bro idk why he dressed like marry poppins the drip at cal_29 is fire
CAN 13 baby!
Is it hunter??
its a coats
3 minutes to change one tire? Put the GoPro down and work on that speed.
Boi tf up thats regular speed u want him to do it in 30 sec?
THE HUMAN CRUMB. Yes actually. My boys can do it with probably half the experience. Lol
@@sig716patrol7 😂
Seriously. Slow ass
Hey I work here
damn this seems like communism compared to the shop i work in
what do u mean by that lmao
Okay but what store can you wear white fucking pants
I’m smoking anyone in a race 👌🏼
Bet
No tf your not. Let's go baby
How are you doing, bro? Can you please tell me how much you can earn with this job?
Estimate hourly rate you get would be 15 dollars an hour
store looks wack af
Not impressed whatsoever. That’s how you screw up somebody’s shit going so fast trying to be a hero.
I'm sorry, but for a discount tire tech that was actually pretty slow.
You sir are wrong. Your store probably can only handle 60 cars a day . Let's go all day baby your store .
@@nathanthompson8545 60 cars a day? My store see like 150 a day?
@@larrybuttboy5787 same with our store about 150 to 180 a day
your broke that bead against best practice
Took him 3 almost 4 min to change a tier and balance. Low key can do that in 1 min
Jose Maxines are you god?
@@Generalusuer he must be the one that all tire stores are looking for, if this man can take tire off, change its stem, put new tire on and balance in a fuckimg minute. Damn 😂 he could finish a car in under 5 min. Hes god
Jose Maxines my dude, you can’t even spell
No you cant the machine mathematically wouldn't allow you to do in one minute while following best practice. Maybe 2.5 and end with 9 min bay time 4 new after tourquinf quit capping be humble
@@nathanthompson8545 the old machines when they were not electric and used air to turn the motor it was possible but our changers suck now since they can turn at a certain speed. Reason on why they changed is that people were scratching and it was a bit dangerous
ILC34 🤟🏼
