Episode #2--My first day on the trail.
Route: Irún to Pasajes de San Juan
Distance: 17.3 KM

The albergue woke us up at 6:00 AM with loud, popular music. There was a simple breakfast and I was out on the road by 7:30 AM. Immediately, I met another pilgrim who asked me the way. I showed her the coastal route and we walked together for the rest of the day.
The climb up to the Sanctuario de Gaudalupe (Jazkibel) was about 4.4 KM with an elevation of 300 M. It went well with only a few difficult short stretches. From the summit, it was an 11 KM hike along a mountain ridge finally descending into the fishing port of Pasajes de San Juan.
Once the albergue opened at 4:00 PM, I showered and did my laundry for the day. I made and shared Jamón bocadillos, fruit, and chocolate with another pilgrim.

Thanks for your questions. Unfortunately, I can't add any new material to this vlog but I can respond here. The easiest way to get a bus ticket from Bilbao to Irún is to buy it online [Alsa.com]. You can obtain your credenciál in Irún from the albergue Jakobi or the tourism office. I hope this helps. ¡Buen Camino!
