Thank you Phillip for the wonderful memories 2023, at 70 I was the slowest hiking with my Hospital 'Clutches' for support and 95 % of the time I was alone and lost the way several times, my longest was from Baamomdo to Sobrado 40 kms took around 12 hrs (no rush) expect that I ran out of water you take care and keep on Hiking and enjoy the Nature and sound of the Birds, thanks Filipo
Thanks for watching and taking the time to write a wonderful comment. Congratulations on your achievement.
Could you tell me what month that you’re walking?
June-July
Buen camino
Thank you!
This man is a genius
Wow it’s looking good again👍🏼
oh i really love that beanie soup!
Thanks. The secret (I now know) is in the water you use to soak the beans. Tap water isn't the best.
looks like he enjoyed every bite
I did! But, later in the day, I found an even better place.
Looks delicious
Looks really yummy
This is very well made and inspiring . Watching from Ethiopia 🇪🇹
Thanks for watching and taking the time to write a comment.
I just come back home, from my hiking to the this place, omg....so tired..
Yes, it's not easy. Were you alone?
Enjoy the bacon buddy
Thanks. I hope you liked watching me eat it!
I love this guy bro please follow him
Thanks, so much, for the shout-out. I need all the support I can get to reach 1K subs.
Nice voice man I like the content, calamari is some of my favorite
Hey, thanks!
Looks amazing! Hope you enjoyed it!!
It was!
Great video! Can I ask which entrance did you enter from?
Well done. Good effort. It looks a lot more built up than the more popular French route? I’ve lived here in Spain for 20 years and still considering walking a camino….perhaps I’m too old at 73…..
Thanks for your comment. As they say, age is just a number and only you know (as far as you can) what your limits are. You might want to try a short section (3-5 days) to see how you feel physically and MENTALLY.
Many congratulations, Phillip. You have completed a very impressive journey, showing immense fortitude throughout. Now, what's your next challenge? Go well, and God bless.
Thanks, so much!
Excellent effort, Phillip.
That looks delicious ❤
Thanks, it wasn't bad.
I loved the 'bush-bashing'. Was that your short cut?
I totally agree with your comment regarding listening to other people's opinions. Listen, yes! The easiest way isn't always the best! 😎
A must do!
There is nothing more hated on the Camino than walking along a major road!😒
The forest walks are very similar to ours here in NZ, albeit better maintained.
Thank you, Phillip, for sharing your epic journey. I will be starting my 2nd Camino in August '25. I simultaneously watch your journey and follow your pathway on my Wise Pilgrim app map. Go well!
Good video man I liked you will have almost 1k some day
Keep on with the good work don’t matter what people say keep on
"Esta bien fresh" XD No te voy a engañar, me ha entrado hambre viendo ese bonito.
Enjoy the country amigo. Visita Zaragoza
Phillip, estás caminando por la hermosa GALICIA. Gracias por tu visita.
An amazing walk and a great challenge! I wonder what time of the year you did this Camino del Norte? How many days did you walk and haw many rest days did you take if at all? What was the longest day in KM and in hours? Thank you
Thanks for watching and your questions. I did the Camino del Norte between June and July. 39 days on the trail and 2 rest days. The longest day was 39 KM and it took around 9 hours. I hope this helps.
Rock the house. Going to try this today w my similar Hoka shoes. Thx for posting
You will notice the difference!
It’s a very nice and awe- inspiring video about your challenges and rewards of taking the way. I can’t wait to have my own time to reset and heal.
That's good to know and something very worthwhile to look forward to. Thanks for watching the video and your support throughout my pilgrimage. It means a lot.
Congratulations Phil. Well done. You will be knocking on heaven's door when the time comes.
Thanks, Andy. I'm sure we'll meet there! 😉
Yay! you made it to Saint James on a misty day. I have 30 days earmarked on the Camino. The off the Porto by bus. Last year, I stayed at the Seminario. I hope to stay there again this year. I enjoyed watching your videos and I hope you have another good walk with your friend next time.
Thanks, so much, for watching and for all of your comments. I have two more Camino del Norte videos to come.
@@PhillipATowndrowHikes I can't wait to watch them.
Es al revés 😂 primero el Camino y luego los albergues, salvo desvíos interesados.😊 Todos los albergues son "buenos" y otros mejores y más caros. En España todo está controlado para la seguridad del peregrino y en general todo el turismo.
Nice and disgusting. That made me laugh.
I’m loving the food reviews , phil! Nearly to Santiago too!!
Hey! Thanks for watching. Yeah, I enjoyed this one and yes, Santiago is just a few kilometres away. Good memories, eh?
Must try the golasinas on my next Camino which is soon. Doing some of the Norte then the primitivo. Love your videos
You should!
Hello! what kind of camera are you using? Is it heavy?
It's an Insta360 ONE X2. Super light.
@@PhillipATowndrowHikes Thank you.
Gravel would be an ankle ripper methinks.
Yep!
Lots of asphalt on this day
Yes, you're right but I didn't mind it too much. Sometimes, I find, the gravel pathways are too much.
Lovely episode man, happy trails!
Thank you very much 😁
I saw a part of the Camino whilst up north from Porto in 2022. Hope to do this trail in 2025… I have the card for stamps ))
That's fantastic. I hope you get to do it.
I remember Arzua and the nice breakfast on one of the super busy cafes where we stopped on our way to Lavacolla. A lovely town with the big mural of the pigrim , I think it was an beer ad or something.
Yes, there are several nice places for a coffee and meals.
What month did you walk the del Norte?
June-July
Not having enough blood for your sugar 😂😂 super funny
Thanks for noticing that.😂
Take care of your blood sugar, please.
