Love your suggestions for the bedroom! But usually we don't really do comforters in Germany. An extra throw blanket might do. And as you can see, each person gets their own blanket/duvet whatever your local word is. It's fantastic, you can turn yourself into a burrito and your partner doesn't have to get their blanket stolen. Also very handy if the two of you have different levels of warmth. You can still share if you want to. And! You don't need an extra pillow for between your legs, the blanket can do that, too.
Another remark to the bed suggestions. All fair but WHO wants extra pillows? Okay, they might look better, but I even hate it in hotels, they need to be put elsewhere when the beds are being used for sleeping. And beds are made for sleeping! Could be a cultural thing. I’m from Europe as well.
For the really brown bedroom one, I also think it'd be nice to add a plant or something on top of the book case. The book case (to me) seems a little short against that tall wall.
@@scasny why did i read this so aggressively? Like, why are we throwing plants against the wall. daymn. But then i re-read it and it all made sense haha
Yeah I was thinking the same. Maybe a hanging plant or putting the small plant on top and a larger plant on the circulair object. And warm light is what I’m missing too (from the nook or from somewhere else).
Greetings from Germany. Currently trying to survive the first months with my soon 4 months old baby boy, who is very sweet but also very clingy and a bad sleeper. He only sleeps in a carrier (going to need physio for my back) or on the bed with my breast tucked into his mouth. Therefore cannot move away during his nap times because he always wakes up and then have to deal with a overtired baby. So your videos are keeping me company and sane during these many hours of making my baby nap. Please keep going. You are humankind a large service.
I miss those days. It's rough at the time, but then it's over .. and suddenly your kids are adults, and you wonder where the time went. Please treasure every moment.
It’s pretty sure the first one is from Vienna/Austria :) It looks like an often seen small “Vorzimmer“ with a “Gastherme“ on the 😄wall for heating and warm water. 😊
🙈 Please don't hate the messenger: There's a legal requirement to have 50cm clearance in all directions around the Gastherme. Most Viennese take laws as guidelines and ignore the ones that inconvenience them. But if Hannah has a shitty landlord or petty service technicians, she could get in trouble putting the IKEA units around the boiler. In case of a gas fire, the home insurance wouldn't have to cover the damages. I'd personally still do it too, I just want you guys to be able to make informed choices.
the trouble with curtains over water radiators is the heat can be trapped between the curtain and the window and not warm the room much if the curtains are too long or too close to the radiator. Also, the warmth may not set them on fire but after enough time it can affect the color and integrity of the fabric.
Caroline! You're amazing! I can't tell if I'm more impressed by your design skills or your photoshop skills, haha!! I appreciate how much research goes into each one of these, just perfection ✨️

Love this series, perfect length to have with my morning coffee 😊 What the Thomas room still needs in my opinion, I kept thinking it the entire time, is a second plant placed on top of the brown shelves, a drapey one that'll kind of grow down the side - and I think either side would work, but probably better to have the plant facing the big art print. Can't even exactly explain why, but I think it'll frame the corner nicely. 🌿🌱
The sweater is ADORABLE we love the yellow!!!!!! I once heard a boutique owner say ‘muted colors don’t wash people out. If you think a muted color is washing you out, you need a bolder blush or lip’.
Thank you sooooo much. This style of video is such a helpful way to learn design elements. Your comments are great, constructive critiques, and I love it that you choose comments from several countries. My husband and I, both in our eighties, are moving to a one level, open plan apartment with a large living-kitchen area soon. I love designing living spaces, but am feeling this to be a BIG challenge, looking for ways to designate different areas, and to create those desirable nooks we all love.
As much as I love the look of radiator covers, they make them a lot more inefficient. Radiators rely on air circulation to work, that's why they are usually under windows. Try to keep at least the area above them somewhat open as that's where they give off most of their heat. Maybe instead of a solid board you could use a steel grate like they use for outdoor stairs and paint it a nice color. That should maintain decent air flow and you could still place one or two decorative object on top of it.
Cheers! The last one is my favorite - you made the impossible, possible! From super heavy and super soulless to light, airy, modern with a nice old center piece.
I love your particular style of design aesthetics. You're so good at bringing all the right details together for each unique situation. I love how surprised I am at which choices solve each conundrum. You are very talented.
The fact that I hit ‘like’ before the video even starts shows how much I adore you ♥️ Caroline, thank you for being my comfort person to watch. PS I miss your vlogs!! Bring em back and let the haters hate

Your outfits are part of the art. When I was studying at art college, one of my lecturers always had the cutest and most creative outfits. Always made my day ❤
I just love all the jokes and fun bits you put into the video (wine, clothing, nooks). I must say though, I NEVER choose a booth, since I'm a fatty and I feel very closed in and like I'm not fitting in the nook/booth... but I DO love the visuals of it and the vibes it give when I'm looking at it :D
Super easy to hang stuff on brick. Drill into the cement grout, not the brick. Use a plastic anchor in the hole. If you ever want it gone, pull out (or push in) the anchor. You can fill the hole with concrete that comes in a tube (like grout.)
I like how you talk about designing with restrictions and making things multifunctional. I’m figuring out my office/dining room and I always learn something new here
That colour does not wash you out, yellow is hella cute for a sweater. The buffet could also maybe have different drawer pulls that are more delicate and modern- matching that to the mirror edge would make it cohesive and maybe connect it overall to the dining room. Thanks for another great video! Excited to see the Zen Makeover!!
First person could also use the closed shelving parts for the ivar series (because it looks like the shelving they have is from the series) instead of the eket and then paint that. Same vibes imo (Also loooove the series!!)
Love this series. The extra large bedroom I thought could be an office space too. Same with Cole’s nook. I work from home so having nooks like that would be ideal.
Love your interior design content! Additional suggestions: 1. Vienna hallway: definitely, paint the wall, add a runner tying the colors together, and hang the mirror. Maybe a small gallery wall opposite the door, on the other side of the suggested sconce. And, if new cabinets are not in the budget, hide them with a folding screen. Another option is a curtain (here me out, Caroline!) in the same color as the wall and hung floor to ceiling on an IKEA ceiling track that wraps around the unit. Bonus: it’ll hide the tank. 2. Nook: if there’s no dedicated office or dining space in the apartment, create an office-dining combo here. Shelves on one wall only can double as sideboard or use low storage as banquette paired with a round table. Alternatively, fill the space with a decadently comfortable hanging daybed or porch swing, floating above a sheepskin rug. Definitely, add sconce lighting and a plant. PS: cute outfit! It reminds me of what we wore to middle-school in the early 80s (yeah, I’m that old; go Gen X!). The mary-janes were those Chinese-style velvet flats and we’d have added scrunched leggings to match the sweater, lol. Your version is much better!
Loved this!!! My favorite thing is when you photoshop items in and I can see the improvement so clearly. You're the best, Caroline! I don't watch many TH-camrs... but you yes!
First of all congrats on how much your channel has grown! Finally someone has spoken on how awful using a curtain to hide stuff is😊 agree with loving a nook! Can you show more boho ideas, please😊
Hahaha I LOVED your argument about the nook, because YES!! My ex for some reason had some deep hatred towards small, cosy nooks, and thats when i realised i was dating actually dating an evil crazy person, cus like, WHO DOESN'T LOVE A NOOK!!!
Thanks so much for your problem solving skills, I am a computational mechanical engineer, and somehow watching your videos helps me finish coding and be more creative. You are awesome!
17:26 make sure the heater cover can be easily opened up around the middle where that white box is attached, it needs to be read for maintenance or diagnostics sometimes. Been living in a rental for over 10y now and had it happen twice or thrice so far I think :)
I feel like I always learn so much from these little videos, never what I'm expecting to learn so it's not easily referenced but it's like slow drip learning. Thanks Caroline!
If you didn't want to spend the money on the cabinets,in the first space, you could put up a roller shade. that drops down from the ceiling to the floor, in rattan or something like that. And that beat bag nook would be great place for a wall of plants. Lots of light.
I LOVE this type of video! It’s so helpful and fun. This series is like the rug to relate interior design principles to the subscribers 😋. Also I really enjoy your excitement over your outfits and sharing them 😊.
when the video started my first thought was "wow the sweater colour is lovely! ". Personally, I think colors that flatter us is so limiting - it's more joyful to wear what makes us happy. The whole fit is so cute too!
At the 25:00 mark, or so, even before you started describing what sort of mirror you'd hang there, I immediately thought of that gorgeous Ikea Lindbyn mirror, specifically the oval/racetrack shaped one. Which is much bigger, and has a much narrower frame and has curves. I can't believe I actually got something 'right' in this whole thing! I'm learning...! :D
I just found your video today! I love this! How many hour long daytime talk shows have I watched just to get one 2 minute segment like your’s. This is golden!!
You are my happy space in these fraught days. Love what you do to make any interior more aesthetically pleasing. Thank you for the inspo and the much needed escape from the news.
True. Unless the walls are special (like the building is historical and so is the wallpaper or something of the sort). In most cases you can paint the walls but you will have to restore them to their original colour when you move out. Check your contract for a clause regarding those walls.
Great video! Loved that there were no buy solutions, diy solutions, strategic planning and/or purchasing. And these were tricky/unique issues and spaces. Well done.
When I repainted a white IKEA cabinet the white base color took like 4-5 coats of paint to completely cover, but the black side table I repainted looked great after just two coats of paint. I still used a white primer on both ofc. So I'd personally recommend getting it in black if you're going to repaint it, but maybe I did something wrong 🤷
NOOOOOOO!!!!!!! it ended. Keep going, you are so good at this. Loved every single one. Need as many of these videos as possible!!
Exactly! The last one was probably my favorite. So true about having larger items on a dresser, etc. Can't believe the difference it makes!

This was absolutely delightful and I can’t wait for more in this series!! ❤
I'm delighted to see Luke again. 😊❤
I could watch hours and hours of these. Thank you Caroline!
Amazing how I was just binging your channel and here you come, blessing us with a new upload ✨
This is my favorite format. You have a way of sharing that is easy to understand. I will take many ideas away and use them in my own conundrums.
Well that certainly gives new meaning to the “3 birds 1 stone” saying 😅. Loved this video. Cheers!
Yes please, to more of this format! Simple yet superb changes!
Great advise! Even greater with the visualisation!
I LOVE this format. I think this concept fills a hole in the interior design world. This is all very good, practical advice. It’s so helpful. ❤
If you didn't want to spend the money on the cabinets,in the first space, you could put up a roller shade. that drops down from the ceiling to the floor, in rattan or something like that. And that beat bag nook would be great place for a wall of plants. Lots of light.
I agree!! I could watch you do this for days!! 🫵You are so fun and such a great teacher honey!!🧑🏼🎨🧑🏼🎨🧑🏼🎨
Absolutely love the small hallway redo
I LOVE this type of video! It’s so helpful and fun. This series is like the rug to relate interior design principles to the subscribers 😋. Also I really enjoy your excitement over your outfits and sharing them 😊.
you and your brother are SO funny together 😭
Very sound advice. I especially liked what you suggested for the room with the 2 windows and the off radiator! I also love this format!
Yes please! Make it a series ❤
when the video started my first thought was "wow the sweater colour is lovely! ". Personally, I think colors that flatter us is so limiting - it's more joyful to wear what makes us happy. The whole fit is so cute too!
A Caroline video: the perfect period pain remedy until my meds kick in ❤
Girl I got my heating pad ready
Please keep going with these. I'm smart with a lot of things but decorating a room from scratch is overwhelming. You're the best!! 💫❤
Shoutout to Morgane for the Dominion movie rec 💓
Everything about you and your channel is just so wonderful. Thank you.
You are really, really, really good at this. Yes, more room diagnoses, please :)
You are my happy space in these fraught days. Love what you do to make any interior more aesthetically pleasing. Thank you for the inspo and the much needed escape from the news.
Dear Morgane, usually you can paint the walls, you just need to paint them white again before moving out. Many loves from Mainz
So I'd personally recommend getting it in black if you're going to repaint it, but maybe I did something wrong 🤷
we need waaaaay more parts of this series!
first one: that's an Ivar, there's also doors for Ivar
moving the red console to the other side is genius!!
Yes! More of these please! They are helpful and entertaining
Absolutely agree about the nook! 😂
LOVE LOVE your videos!! Would love to see a video on suggestions for people don't have a rug and don't even like rugs for hygienic reasons.
If the wine goes bad, couldn't you use it as vinegar? For the salads?
resoundingly a better idea than what i did
That's what I said @@Sjur_sm57
I SERIOUSLY love these it just helps me see things differently thank you for sharing. New fav series. Also we always love a fit check.
