Would you happen to know the ost that plays when Dio shows up after Dyne's death?
This theme is great, you can really feel the desperation and sense of "final lap" to it. Poor Roche honestly
I hated Hojo for experimenting on Roche further. This fight really just makes me want to hang his head on my wall. Can’t wait for PT3 so I can do that
I love how desperately intence this track is at the start, matching Roche's desperate desire to have this last bout with Cloud, then when phase 2 kicks in, it loses the intensity, but keeps the desperation. That is until the Jenova theme kicks in, which just makes the struggle feel hopeless, as Roche rapidly succumbs to his accelerated cellular degradation and becomes another Sephiroth Clone by the end of the fight.
Yeah Jenova’s theme leaking in was so creepy. It’s literally the sound of his mind being infected by her.
Just did this fight today AND JUST WHYYYYY!!! i really liked Roche!!! At least his theme was a banger, right until the very end!!!
Same here was cool best new character imo. Though seeing cissnei in rebirth was goated for me
One of the rare times in a game where I didn't want a boss fight to end simply because it meant the character was gonna meet some terrible end. Usually its a "I don't want this fight to end because I'm having fun and jamming to the music" with this game. But then you kinda wanna go big at the end because Roche deserves a good fight. Even if his desire for one is what lead to him going to Hojo in the first place.
The fact that the song features a high intensity version of the same motif from the opening of his Junon theme at 1:36 and then a darker, sinister version of it again during phase 2 at 3:52 further enhances the feeling of Roche slowly losing himself to Jenova as this fight goes on and his degradation gets worse.
I hope he can be saved somehow, but we’ll see what happens.
Jenova’s theme creeping through right at the very end is such an incredible piece of storytelling through the music, something I feel Rebirth does better than maybe any game ever?
He let his bike get destroyed because he knew this was the end of the line, damn.
Whoever thought of putting Jenova’s theme in at the end deserves a raise
I didn't find this song on the original OST so many Thanks for putting it here until.
It's easy to miss, but on the final phase Roche is almost a 100% copy of Sephiroth from the end of Remake. He has almost all of Sephiroth's attacks by different names.
Combustion Sword = Aeolian Onslaught
Dragoon Dive = Hells Gate
Stygian Chains = Boundless Void
He even starts using sword combos with his sword reversed and moving and throwing sword beams like him.
The degradation is literally turning him into a Sephiroth Clone.
Was really waiting for this one, thank you very much 😊
You're welcome bro! I glad you enjoy this theme! 🥰
@@VincentValentineGamingHopefully you have the chance to upload both parts separately, since I think both cut before looping, if not too much of a hassle 😅
You mean combine 2 version into one? I'll do for ya soon :D
@@VincentValentineGaming Oh if that does a full loop of both I'll be sold, since both end pretty abruptely and I would love to see how they sound with full duration, thank you.
I didn't notice the Jenova theme at the end while I was fighting him...that's so cool and terrible...
Nice upload man, not finished with the game yet but this theme is one of my faves.
Thank you so much for uploading this. Just got to this boss and couldn’t find it on the official soundtrack
You're welcome bro! Enjoy your weekend ^^!
Nice work, I've been looking for the theme that plays when you're playing as Cait Sith within the mansion. Pretty sure it leads into meeting Vincent.
I swear almost every intense song on the soundtrack has the Jenova theme weaved in there somewhere
David Tennant with his long coat and snickers running...
Awesome!
I feel like we will 100% see him again in part 3 where dr hojo turns him into some abomination
Was absolutely transfixed by this track while watching my brother die to him like 4 times. Phase two is so hype
Gosh the violin at 3:53 makes my heart hurt
The song I'm really looking for is the boss theme for the end of the Nibel proto relic its not uploaded ANYWHERE 😢
The second Gilgamesh boss fight?
This is the good time to be alive
1:31
Is this song on the official soundtrack? I'm having trouble finding which disc and track it is.
Unfortunately no
Can you upload the Gears and Gambits theme
Guy playing is trash but nice soundtrack though
Everything Roche touches dies, this one included. It doesn't have anything particularly worthwhile, and being tied to Roche just makes it a reminder of obnoxious one dimensional clowns being forced into a plot they don't belong in.
Absolutely atrocious take
@jasonborne238 Roche lives life to the full because he knows his time is short. He's more aware of the degradation than most SOLDIERs; in Remake he aludes to "so many miles on the clock", for him, life is a race against time. "Do not go gentle into that good night" is what drives him. He is brash and arrogant, but also honourable and generous. His flamboyance is revealed to stem from an awareness, a fear of his mortality. The bike riding, the showing off, the fighting, it's all about being alive, about getting every moment he can.
"Thank you for this wonderful gift!" Cloud allows him to live brightly one last time before Jenova snuffs out his light.
One of the remarkable things about Rebirth is how many characters have their own individual arcs.
how to say you fail at media literacy without saying you fail at media literacy lmao
if all you see in Roche is one-dimensional clown, chances are most of this game's narrative is wasted on you because a lot of character development and themes are on the things that aren't explicitly said.
trash take.
@@Relugus I was really unsure about Roche way back when they debuted him because of how over the top he is, but he serves an important function. Like many of the additions to the Remake games, he serves as a "show don't tell" clarifying figure in the story. In the OG you hear about SOLDIER degeneration, but never actually see it. There are just these weird robed guys around. Roche shows just how extreme and sudden it can be, a terrifying prospect for Cloud. Also right at the beginning of this fight the player gets maybe the clearest indication yet that Sephiroth is able to speak through through these SOLDIERS/robed figures to manipulate Cloud and others. This is made super duper clear at the end of the game with Glenn, another new character added to help clarify the narrative.
For long-time fans, it's hard to remember how vague a lot of these concepts were in the OG. We understand them now because we've poured over the game, read the Ultimania, interviews, watched subsequent films, played spin-off games, and watched TH-cam deconstructions.
Yeah whatever. He was fully SOLDIER based on the ideals Angeal and other SOLDIER from crisis core had. Also a great addition to the original game where SOLDIER was just treated as another regular enemy even though cloud specifically said that If they were there during the bombing they would all be dead, indicating how strong they are supposed to be in the lore. Roche had the power and the honor and personality. Absolutely an amazing addition to the game and does not take anything away from the main ff7 story and instead enhances it by showing more of the degradation and cloning process.
