I did not vibe with the remake of FF7P1 at all (mostly due to the combat feeling off). I guess I'mma have to give it another go to find out wtf happened to have Zack reappear.

I can’t believe there are actually people that dislike the fact he’s in the game. He’s basically been Square Enix’s Stan Lee cameo since FF5 and FF8. I miss when people could just appreciate a secret/optional boss fight and be like: “whoa that’s cool.” People that say it somehow takes away from the main story are actively lying to themselves and us, for what? Nothing changes, it’s just something fun to do, and I want fun things to do in the games I play. Gilgamesh’s whole deal is he traverses the different FF universes.

The music of Final Fantasy VII is spectacular. Simply spectacular. You can play ANY song from the entire game, and my brain can *immediately* pick up on the scene at hand.

I just started the game two weeks ago. I unfortunately haven't played it since then because of all the discourse. The discourse has actively ruined my mood to play the game in a sort of depressed kind of way. I don't hate this game, remake, or the original ff7. The vocal outcries, though, are so overwhelming it gets frustrating. Which sucks because I want to keep playing. When cloud pushed those doors open and the world was revealed with this music, I was left stunned. Filled with awe, wonder, and feeling overwhelmed. Overwhelmed being my keyword. "Where do I go?" "What do I go look for first?"I want to have Cloud and aerith together as much as possible, but who else do I use?" All the mechanics for characters were greatly expanded on, each useful in so many different situations. I even think you can switch cloud out of the party now, so it opens even more options. The combat is starting to mirror character action games with its depth and skill ceiling. I love games like dmc and Bayonetta, but I've never masteted any of them. So mastering rebirths combat would be something I don't think I could do. Currently stopped at the swamp, 2 hours into the game. I just want to play more. I've forgotten what it feels like to play a classic jrpg. The massive customization, large character rosters, massive open worlds. It's all overwhelming in the best way as it has left me actually feeling something. I'm not on autopilot like I am with most games I tend to replay. The whole world is out there, begging to be explored. Like a real adventure or journey. This music captures that perfectly. The beauty of the world, and the beginning of adventure.

You know they only brought this thing back because the music for it was too epic in the first game.

This slaps but ngl i turned off the game when it was clear Nomura took a ton of shrooms when making the climax. It reeked of kingdom hearts boss guantlet bs and i dont care for it. I just pretend that jenova was the final boss and nor sephiroth for the 5 millionth time

Fun fact: The English adaptation makes it very clear that the only reason Rufus shows up at the Gold Saucer is to put up a big show and distract the party long enough so that Cait Sith can deliver the Keystone to Tseng, but the original Japanese dialogue implies he really wanted to kick Cloud's ass, and at the end of the fight was GENUINELY having fun. So yeah, I know what's gonna happen in Part 3, but I'm expecting a final fight with Rufus. His rivalry with Cloud is too fleshed out to be just a minor plot point.

This theme haunts me. After 100% the game it might as well be Odin's theme, spent so much time fighting Odin in the various challenges and combat scenarios and he was always the one that tripped me up lmao still a phenomenal theme though, definitely one of my favorites in the game (and as far as I know, not based on any compositions from the original game?)

I didn’t realize when he does his “End is Nigh” attack, if you fail to defeat him, he just OBLITERATES you. So I failed killing him on my first go around thanks to that realization 🤣

Is it me or the very end of the track as been cut ? The section when Cloud and Aerith are back to back and she fade away. Is it possible to bring it back ? I really like this part as it bring a touch of finality to this long gauntlet of boss fights, especially with the light use of the main theme.

This entire game is a masterpiece. Even the soundtrack for a little throwaway minigame you can beat the game without ever playing a single round of is goated. Not to mention the sheer amount of depth each of these minigames have. They all could be expanded into their own standalone titles, easily.

Not A Fan of This Version of North Corel’s Theme. The OG Version Captured The Desperation, The Pain, The Loss So Much Better, With It Being So Simple A Track. The Original Really Captured The Emotion.

Hmmm something I just noticed... at the very beginning when it's Zack and Cloud facing Seph, they each take a pose. At the very end when it's Cloud and Aerith facing seph after he's been defeated, Cloud takes Zack's pose from the start of the video. Hmmm...
