Bobby Bell was one of my Chiefs heroes growing up in KC in the late 1960's and early 70's. A great NFL player and a great representative of the fantastic Chiefs teams of that time. Let's hope the Chiefs can recapture those glory days.
2 totally different players, LT was an attacking blitzing LB, Bobby Bell was great at all modes of defense, coverage, run defense, blitzing. LT couldn't do it all as well as Bell, and alot of other linebackers either.
Show how messed up the pro ball players are now. Back then Bobby Bell could learn a position. Fill in where needed. Today a guy comes out of college and he is stuck in that position. Who knows what a running back could do at wide receiver.etc. Teams have no imagination or creativity.
I always wondered why Bell was not drafted in the early rounds by the Chiefs. He was a star at Minnesota. I thought it might have been because they thought he wanted to sign with the NFL From this conversation it appears that he was perceived to be "undersized" to play in the offensive or defensive line.
Bobby Bell: the greatest all-around linebacker of all time.

Bell, Lanier & Lynch IMO was the Greatest set for linebackers in the Game from 68,74
What a talented guy
I dare say he was the forerunner to LT.
I don't think he abused cocaine, not a fair comparison. lol

Before LT the best OL the Pro game had seen.
