This is from Stockholm, Sweden so they sang it in Swedish, I saw them on this tour at Wembley Arena and they sang it in English, they recorded the Carolus album in both Swedish and English. The melody and vocal lines are the same just in the 2 languages (They’ve done the same with their new song Livgardet/The Royal Guard, and have shot 2 different music videos, one for each version). I am sure you will get a ton of these, but the Drummer atop the Tank is Hannes and he is married to Floor from Nightwish. Sabaton gave the Russian cover artist Radio Tupoc the music for their song "Attack Of The Dead Men" and he released his Russian language cover just before Sabaton released their English language version. When they played in Russia just before the lockdown they had Tupoc come out and start the song and it was magic. Sabaton does history related songs and have a history channel to go with their music channel. Also, if you Spotify "Floor Jansen Discography" you get several Sabaton songs as she does backing vocals on some of their songs.
Great reaction!🤘 That feeling, devotion for certain music/certain band hit me when I heard Sabaton's "Bismarck" for the first time. This song though, "Carolus Rex" was the first Sabaton song I've ever heard when it was new. Loved it immediately. The weird thing is that I didn't get more into Sabaton's music back then. Now I'm crazy about their music!😁🤘
This song is about the Swedish king Karl XII, also known as Carolus Rex, and his ascension in 1682. They made the song in English as well, so you can understand the lyrics. The best version I would say is the 2013 live from Poland, "Swedish Empire Live". It has excellent audio, and the interaction between Sabaton and the audience is amazing. Basically, it is about how Karl XII saw himself as appointed by God, with no allegiance to anyone. And he led Sweden on a march of conquest across Europe.
My first introduction to Sabaton was at the Nightwish concert I went to 6 years ago in Charlotte, NC. I had never heard of them at the time, but I have been in love with them ever since.
Anastasia, we have so much more music to get to... Epica, Vuur, Within Temptation, Aryeon, Cellar Darling, Jinjer, Rammstein and much much more... we will be here waiting
there is a fellow his name is Radio Tapok and he covers Sabaton but in Russian. Sabaton invited him to the stage when they play in Russia just before the Covid shit stopped all live concerts. Check out 40: 1 live Woodstock Poland, Swedish pagans, En livstid i krig (do not forget to put captions) and night witches of course. Greetings from Sweden
...In addition...more Sabaton songs about Russia "Stalingrad" , "Attero Dominatus" and of course "The Attack of the Dead men" ...LIVE from St:Petersburg or Moskva ..with Radio Tapok
Attack of the Dean Men and Night Witches are two of my absolute *favorite* Sabaton tracks. For Attack of the Dead Men, watch it live. For Night Witches, watch the Yarn Hub animated music video. 🙂
Thank you! ❤️ I don’t really listen to words when I hear the song I don’t know, I react to music more than lyrics, even with English I miss a lot of words sometimes:)
Great reaction! I'm really glad you love them and I hope you will love them even more the more you hear from them. I would recommend "The Lion from the North" which is a about Swedish king Gustav II Adolf who became famous in Europe after entering the Thirty Years War in 1631 on the side of the protestants, fighting back and winning against the catholics, as well as making Sweden one of the primary forces in Europe during that time until his death a year later in 1632. He is also known as the father of modern warfare.
A good trick is to ask fans on the community what would be the best version to watch of a certain performance, the fans know, and let the voting do the deciding onto the best version for you to watch 😁🤘 | Much Love, Peace & Respect | Stay Safe Ya'll
You have in fact watched 2 bands perform: Sabaton, who were joined on stage by Apocalyptica (the guys with cellos) for this performance. Sabaton is vocals (Joakin Broden), 2 guitars, bass and drums. The music of Sabaton is always grand, about heroic events, wars etc. This one was about the coronation of the last warrior king of Sweden, Charles XII. Sabaton's music goes well with Nightwish, and many are fans of both - me included. The 2 bands go well with each other in real life too, their drummer (Hannes Van Dahl) is married to Floor Jansen. And they do tour the US, in fact Floor and Hannes met while they toured together, in Michigan of all places. :) Sabaton mostly sing in English, this song was from the Swedish version of their album Carolus Rex and they sang this version because they were performing in their home country. Another good song to watch from this tour is En Livstid I Krig (a lifetime of war) in which you can witness true epic singing by the audience. And then, watch the official video for Bismarck, it has truly amazing visuals.
Nightwish army also likes Sabaton... Nice reaction... All their songs are about wars across the world, the history, the heroes, etc... About great music, I'm from Brazil and agree about european music, but not only there... Bands you MUST know... Unleash the Archers, Jinjer, Epica, Eluveitie, Blind Guardian, Ayreon ( not a band, it's a prog rock project by the Genius Arjen)... And keep going... Suggest you to try Everybody Dies Live from the Ayreon project... Won't regret...
since you gone down the awesome rabbit hole of nightwish and Sabaton ... do not miss out on Within Temptation and Amaranthe .... bands with female singers too :) greetings from a fellow Nightwish fan
Great reaction! Next should be "Night witches" and "No bullets fly". Make sure you watch the animated STORY versions and turn on subtitles. And "Bismark". And check out the Sabaton History channel as well. Sabaton's songs are almost all about historical events.
They sing about History. The do have songs of Heroes and battles from accross the World and time including Russia. Sabaton - The Attack of the Dead Men (Feat. RADIO TAPOK) [Live in Moscow]
The cellists and the drummer playing the snare, as others have said, are Apocalyptica. They are amazing live, and such sweet people. (And I like to think that Canadians generally have a music taste more in line with Europe. 😅)
You should really check more of their music. They even have an English version of this song. I also suggest the songs Attack of the Dead men, Bismarck, Coat of Arms, Last Dying Breath and Cliffs of Gallipoli. All songs of Sabaton
Yes, Russia as well as Poland love Sabaton. Here a russian singer at Sabatons consert i Moscow (Feat. RADIO TAPOK). Their performance in Woodstock, Poland is epic with > 500.000 in the audience. This song is about Carolus Rex aka Karl XII or Charles XII of Sweden, who was the Swedish king during the great northern war. And as you might know he was very successful, until he tried seriously oppose Russia and was defeated in the battle of Poltava, which lead to his exile in Bender, Moldova at that time part of the Ottoman empire. But the great thing with Sabaton is that they have their history channel on youtube as well. This version is in Swedish. There is also an English version of this song. The lyrics for this song are epic as well: "All embrace me It's my time to rule at last Fifteen years have I been waiting To sit upon my throne No allegiance I will swear no oath Crowned by god not by the church As my power is divine They thought I was too young to rule the land Just as they failed to understand Born to rule My time has come I was chosen by heaven Say my name when you pray To the skies See Carolus rise With the lord my protector Make them bow to my will To the skies See Carolus rise To the skies See Carolus rise Proved in battle Led my men to victory No man alive or dead commands me I answer to the lord Hear my orders Question me and die What I say was said in heaven And so it shall be done I know I was destined to rule alone All for myself I have claimed the throne Born to rule My time is now I was…"

GO FOR "Swedish Pagans"...prefferably live
Its about when King Charles XII of Sweden (Karl Karlovich) was crowned at age 15. You might know him as the great opponent to Piotr Pievi (Peter the Great) at the Great Northern War.
If you like this perspective they toured right before C19 hit so look for videos of the 'Great Tour.' They toured with Amaranthe and Apocalyptica, both bands make appearances on stage with Sabaton. I would suggest 'Legonet Fran Norden' from this tour recorded in Stockholm - it is fire.
Since you're a Russian why not check Night Witches by the same group preferably the animated story video also look at En Livstid I Krig live at Gothenburg with closed captions on.
NightWish, Epica, Sabaton, Eluveitie, Within Temptation..yeah, European music has a much better sound and feel then here in the US...btw.. their drummer is married to Floor.

There is also a sabaton history channel as well.....night witches should be right up your street, being of Russian descent....
Apocalyptica cosplaying Sabaton. First time I saw this I was confused with Joakim playing Cello, Good job with the costume Paavo. :) I'm sure you'd like many of the Apocalyptica songs too. They have a lot of instrumentals (with 3-4 Cellos and drums) as well as a lot of visiting vocalists since they don't have their own singer. My favorites are from their earlier production, like Path (instrumental) and Path vol.2 (with Sandra Nasic on vocals).
Saboton mantra is, “least we not forget!” They are not political but celebrate, mourn, sing about the heroics and sacrifices of Military & people throughout history! Attack of the Dead Men ( about a little known German gas attack on Russian forces in War War 1). There is a Russian singer that has a very popular channel that Translates Saboton songs into Russian and dose videos. Saboton actually invited him to tour when they had a concert in Russia to sing with them. They have a very deep catalog I discovered them myself a few years ago when I heard the currant drummer in Saboton is married to Floor Jansen of Nightwish ( 20 year fan). Saboton is incredible they have their own History Channel explaining a lot of the songs and History behind them. Winged Hussars, No Bullets Fly, Metal Machines, The Price Of A Mile & 40-1 are just a few. Normally I prefer live but with Saboton , live, videos or their history channel even upside down & backwards this band & messages is amazing! Good luck & god bless from an Old Metal Rock head! Stay Safe Rock On!🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

Welcome to the world of Sabaton! Gotta admit I agree that european metal is far superior to the more american style of it. Like some of those too, but not nearly as many and not as much. The Carolus Rex album was made in 2 languages, so you can find it in english too! Well, be prepared for some serious guitar skills here😉 And the drummer here, Kai Hahto is now the Nightwish drummer😉 Keep it up. Greetings from Norway 🤟🇧🇻
Devi and Wintersun definitely need to get into her list. I feel like reaction channels have helped me find so much good metal from outside the US; I found Nightwish, Epica and a few other bands years ago on TH-cam, but the past year or two have definitely broadened my playlists out. It's a shame our radio stations here don't play much from overseas. We're a big country, but we're not the center of the universe; the European and Japanese metal scenes are awesome, and deserve more love in the States (Devin Townsend is Canadian though, and even he doesn't get played here!)
@@cristiaolson7327 I know, right? I listened to Dev back in the SYL days, but I didn't continue to follow him when he quit that, BIG mistanke. I rediscovered him about 4 years ago, and man have I missed out. Been to four concerts with him since, and met him twice. He is the colest and most humble guy ever. He should be a Canadian National treasure! The fact that he isn't more known is just tragic! Nightwish I also listened to in my younger days, but fell of when Anette joined them. Not because of Anette, but I started listening to other things at that time. So two years ago after seeing tons of suggestions for Nightwish for months, I finally took a look at Ghost love score from Wacken. And holy shit did I get Floored😜 Wintersun I also discovered through reaction videos. They kept popping up on Nightwish and Dev/DTP reactions, so eventually I checked them out. Next two videos: "Night Witches" (about the Russian all women 588 bomber regiment in WW2) , Animated STORY video. "Attack of the dead men" (About 100 brave Russian soldiers in WW1). Live in Moscow feat Radio Tapok.
Since you're Russian you really need to listen to Sabaton ft Radio Tapok - The Attack of the Dead Men (Live in Moscow). Radio Tapok is a Russian musician who does metal cover songs in Russian and his participation in that concert was a surprise to the Russian crowd. Also the song itself depicts the heroism and badassery of the Russian troops at Osowiec in 1915 where the Germans used chlorine gas on them. When the gas dissolved they thought everyone was dead and marched through to take over the fort. Although the vast majority of the Russian troops died horribly, some 100 brave souls stood up coughing blood and part of their lungs and charged a counterattack at the Germans. The 7000 Germans stood still in disbelief in the sight of a Russian army who were looking like zombies at that point and started fleeing in panic. The Russians managed to push the Germans all the way back at their fortification and held their position in a heroic attempt to defend their ground. You could do a double reaction to watch first the lyric version as it provides a lot of info about the battle and then do the Live version in Moscow but whatever you do, you will appreciate it a lot.

I have so much to learn
She is also the lead singer in the song "The Future of Warfare" in the soundtrack version, it's a song of the last Sabaton album.
Hey Im American and saw them in NYC last year !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love em
I like this video because I know I am out there in the crowd. It was a great show and all three bands rocked.
you should hear the english version of this =)
Wacken 2019 - Swedish Pagans, with special guest on stage. ;-)
My first introduction to Sabaton was at the Nightwish concert I went to 6 years ago in Charlotte, NC. I had never heard of them at the time, but I have been in love with them ever since.
Came for the reaction, wasn't expecting to find a new sweet artist to listen to :)
Anastasia, we have so much more music to get to... Epica, Vuur, Within Temptation, Aryeon, Cellar Darling, Jinjer, Rammstein and much much more... we will be here waiting
"I'm sure it's a phase..." Haha! That cracked me up! Great reaction.
there is a fellow his name is Radio Tapok and he covers Sabaton but in Russian. Sabaton invited him to the stage when they play in Russia just before the Covid shit stopped all live concerts. Check out 40: 1 live Woodstock Poland, Swedish pagans, En livstid i krig (do not forget to put captions)
and night witches of course. Greetings from Sweden
Sabaton :Night Witches , for mother Rusia ;) Then Radio Tapok cover of Sabatons Panzerkampf (its in Rusian) 😉
...In addition...more Sabaton songs about Russia "Stalingrad" , "Attero Dominatus" and of course "The Attack of the Dead men" ...LIVE from St:Petersburg or Moskva ..with Radio Tapok
Attack of the Dean Men and Night Witches are two of my absolute *favorite* Sabaton tracks.
For Attack of the Dead Men, watch it live. For Night Witches, watch the Yarn Hub animated music video. 🙂
I hope you guys got over the phase and came back to real music :)
You have much to reseurch about Sabaton..albums and their history channel..🤘😊🤘
Seen them live from the front of the crowd and i think my eyebrows were seared from all the fire effects. It was awesome though!
fascinating how she discovered the essence of Sabaton after listening to half a song in a language she dosnt understand xD great reaction
Sabaton mostly sing in English, this song was from the Swedish version of their album Carolus Rex and they sang this version because they were performing in their home country.
Thank you so much!
since you gone down the awesome rabbit hole of nightwish and Sabaton ... do not miss out on Within Temptation and Amaranthe .... bands with female singers too :) greetings from a fellow Nightwish fan
yes dont miss "The night witches"
You will love this they talk about real war stuff good one
Always hit the caption...and your history with Sabaton begins =)
You should really check more of their music. They even have an English version of this song. I also suggest the songs Attack of the Dead men, Bismarck, Coat of Arms, Last Dying Breath and Cliffs of Gallipoli. All songs of Sabaton
YES but the version of attack of the dead men is when they played it live in Moscow with the Russian metal artist radio tapok
Fun fact: Carolus Rex or karl XI2:e was 18 years old at the battle at Narva 1700
The lyrics for this song are epic as well:
"All embrace me
It's my time to rule at last
Fifteen years have I been waiting
To sit upon my throne
No allegiance
I will swear no oath
Crowned by god not by the church
As my power is divine
They thought I was too young to rule the land
Just as they failed to understand
Born to rule
My time has come
I was chosen by heaven
Say my name when you pray
To the skies
See Carolus rise
With the lord my protector
Make them bow to my will
To the skies
See Carolus rise
To the skies
See Carolus rise
Proved in battle
Led my men to victory
No man alive or dead commands me
I answer to the lord
Hear my orders
Question me and die
What I say was said in heaven
And so it shall be done
I know I was destined to rule alone
All for myself I have claimed the throne
Born to rule
My time is now
I was…"

The few extra musicians are actual group called Apocalyptica, who hail from Finland.
There is a russian band that pretty much just make sabaton covers.
You need to see SABATON - Attack of the dead men, live in Moscow!!!
Oh!!! How nice!!! Please check out some of Sabatons songs about Russia/Russians "Attero Dominatus" , "Stalingrad", The Attack of The Dead Men (Live from St:Petersburg or Moskva with Radio Tapok....and their animated allready legendary musicvideo about Russian Female bombers 588 Regement . The song is called "Nightwitches"..... The long version of the animated musicvideo is absolutely fantastic!! Even if the live version when the singer (Joakim Brodén) pretends to fire a Bazooka against the drummer, isnt too bad that either ;-).....Oh! Of course they have a Viking song too. GO FOR "Swedish Pagans"...prefferably live
I highly suggest "Attack of the Dead Men" by Sabaton. Radio Tapok also did an outstanding cover, which he sang on stage with sabaton.
Sabaton and Radio Topec live in Moskow with the song Attack of the Dead next? :D :D :D
Its about when King Charles XII of Sweden (Karl Karlovich) was crowned at age 15. You might know him as the great opponent to Piotr Pievi (Peter the Great) at the Great Northern War.
sabaton - en livstid i krig same concert. Please turn on the caption while react to it.
Try reacting to Kamelot - Elizabeth 1 , 2 , and 3 . Live 2007 in Norway.
@Johan They are the exception to the rule, or were. They haven't been that good lately.
You should look up RADIO TAPOK they do Sabaton covers in russian ;)
I suggest the live version of En livstid i krig, it might bring a tear to your eye, it might not but it's still fantastic.
NightWish, Epica, Sabaton, Eluveitie, Within Temptation..yeah, European music has a much better sound and feel then here in the US...btw.. their drummer is married to Floor.
P.S... Sabaton is like history class set to good music, they write songs that are based on moments of history. They even have a TH-cam channel that talks about the history behind the songs
I seen them in Rochester and Buffalo
Delain masters of destiny
You are checking out some great bands, and as you have probably been told, Floor is Sabatons drummers (Hannes) wife....give "night witches" a listen as well, amazing song, amazing story.... There is also a sabaton history channel as well.....night witches should be right up your street, being of Russian descent....
If you have not already, you should react to Sabaton - En livstid i krig live the Great Tour - Gothenburg
If you enjoy the choir, you better watch En Livstid i Krig, live in Gothenburg. And have subtitles on.
Apocalyptica cosplaying Sabaton. First time I saw this I was confused with Joakim playing Cello, Good job with the costume Paavo. :)
I'm sure you'd like many of the Apocalyptica songs too. They have a lot of instrumentals (with 3-4 Cellos and drums) as well as a lot of visiting vocalists since they don't have their own singer.
My favorites are from their earlier production, like Path (instrumental) and Path vol.2 (with Sandra Nasic on vocals).
Slaughter to prevail - Demolisher, russian metal ;-)
Also you should watch Sabaton - nightwitches animated (song about russian pilot women) and En livstid i krig (live) from gothenburg with eng subs
More!
On it!!!:)
Stay Safe Rock On!🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Should look at ”En livstid i krig” live in Gothenburg (with transalation) 🤘🏼
You should react to en livstid I krig from sabaton, also the live Show. Its just awsome. They have also a english Version of the song called a lifetime of War, but the swedisch Version is 100000000 times more awsome
Now you need to listen to "82nd All the Way"!!!!!!
Welcome to the world of Sabaton! Gotta admit I agree that european metal is far superior to the more american style of it. Like some of those too, but not nearly as many and not as much. The Carolus Rex album was made in 2 languages, so you can find it in english too! You can't really go wrong with Sabaton, but I'd recommend songs such as Bismarck, The Last Stand (live with orchestra is awesome), Winged Hussars and much more! :D
For a russian, you should react to Sabaton-Attack of the Dead Man with Radio Tapok, also check out Radio Tapok's cover of it.
Loving your reactions. You should also react to Devin Townsend. One of our times greatest musicians. His voice... He has an insane voice, and can sing what ever he wants to. Check out "Kingdom" from emgtv and start your journey there.
And then we have Wintersun. The song Time live rehersal at Sonic pump studios. You say guitarsolos ar better than sex.. Well, be prepared for some serious guitar skills here😉
And the drummer here, Kai Hahto is now the Nightwish drummer😉
Keep it up.
@@cristiaolson7327
I know, right?
And holy shit did I get Floored😜
Wintersun I also discovered through reaction videos. They kept popping up on Nightwish and Dev/DTP reactions, so eventually I checked them out.
The fact that Jari is a massive Devin Townsend fan really shines through here and there.
Same story with Sabaton, a band I heard of for many years, but never listened to. Now they are one of my top bands. Saw them live three weeks before lockdown, and it was one of the best livebands I've ever seen!
I see a lot of reactors say that, that European metal are better. Being a Norwegian I find that cool, but there are for shure good bands from America too
check out GHOST DIVSION live ..its the opening of a concert
Hey you should definitely check Tina setkic dragon force through the fire and the flames cover at 15 and moonlight sonata on electric guitar at 17 she is a French prodigy playing for 8 or more years, awesome 😎
Apocalyptic is playing with them they play angels are calling too you will like thst and you will like to sing Nightwish sleeping sun
Love Sabaton, not like I love NightWish, but they are a great band - check out the video for Bismarck, it's really epic 🤘
Grate you found Sabaton too! Now you have two grate band to study (Nightwish) Salute again from Norway! Keep it commin` Anastasia!! Sabaton is primary a war history band! So you will find something about Russia also, I dont say any more ;) Cheers! Suggestion, SABATON:"En livstid i krig" th-cam.com/video/WBs3G1PvyfM/w-d-xo.html
you must react to Sabaton - en livstid I krig (a lifetime of war) live in Gothenburg, have caps on becuse they sing in swedish, this is so amazing
You really need to react to more sabaton... screaming eagles official Video for example
Sabaton is basically the genre of historical power metal, truly a great band, they are the kings of the epic metal chant. And agree that currently Europe has a much better metal scene than the US. Now try a bit of Australian progressive metal Ne Obliviscaris - And Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope, live in Colorado th-cam.com/video/rNuVdsx7qJY/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=NeObliviscaris. Also Avatar are a flat out amazing band as well.
Loveley reaction :D Its in swedish and maybe hard to understand for ya :D And what im now telling you is. Tommy johansson the guitarr player also have a tube channel ( whrere he´s singing ) with loads of covers. And Skid row lead singer Erik grönvall doing a cover/ tribute on this particular son but in english. check it out and just enjoying CAROLUS REX w/ Tommy Johansson (SABATON COVER) btw Sabaton is doing a tour this spring / summer in usa ya.
Next two videos: "Night Witches" (about the Russian all women 588 bomber regiment in WW2) , Animated STORY video.
"Attack of the dead men" (About 100 brave Russian soldiers in WW1). Live in Moscow feat Radio Tapok.
Russian epic... Imperial Age!! Lots of content on TH-cam... Great reactions.. thanks.
Sweden/Carolus Rex vs Russia...'in war of the past'🇸🇪
You could do a double reaction to watch first the lyric version as it provides a lot of info about the battle and then do the Live version in Moscow but whatever you do, you will appreciate it a lot.
next... Sabaton - En Livstid I Krig (live Gothenburg) with lyrics
New Burning Witches flight of the Valkyries or new Crypta from the ashes
sabaton - ghost division live, that is great.
thank you for the nice reaction I saw them live one day before this concert in Ghotenburg Sweden it was one of the best concert I have visit then over 10000 people sing "en livstid i krig" one lifetime at war" th-cam.com/video/WBs3G1PvyfM/w-d-xo.html its was so amazing I hope you do more reactions with Sabaton :-)
I will!:)
@@asenka11 You can turn on subtitles on this video so it be translated from Swedish to English :-) I cant wait for see them live again :-) I realy recommend see them live :-)
Pls listen to "En livstid i krig" (the live version with english lyrics) its in the same album as Carolus Rex and is about the 30 year war. If you want to listen to more Sabaton music here are some recommendations. And yes they do make English versions on most of their songs so be sure to check that out for some context.
1. The Lion from the North
2. The Last stand
3. The attack of the dead men
4. Great war
Love from Sweden (:
Check out them live at wacken a must
Since you are Russian i would recomend "Attack of the Dead men" live feat. Radio Tapok, and "Night wiches" the animated story video. Both feture stories about russians.
You can listen some Sabaton songs in russian too - Radio Tapok made some very nice covers :) Thank you.
