Hey man I love your videos on the 883. I bought a 2010 883 in January and haven't ridden it yet cause I still need to get it registered and insured but man watching these vids are making me so excited to hop in the seat this summer. Thank you so much sir and much respect.

@@Marvelkid87 your videos inspired me to get one. I always wanted it. A lot of people were saying that iron 883 is not good on a highway but they are wrong. The bike is fine, it's just some people are too used to big bikes and big cars.

Great video! I'm a new rider and I just got a 2020 Iron 883 with 572 miles on it as my first bike! Love it! I'm 6'3 so I'm gonna be doing a few mods to make it a bit more comfortable as it's completely stock with mid control , but it's way easier to ride than people told me it would be for someone my height!

    • @taf005

Look into some T-bars! They don’t really change the position of the stock handlebars (besides height of course) and feel so natural for a tall rider myself. I also have a ‘20 883 and I love it 🤙

That's it! I am getting an 883. I've always wanted to get one and I've seen enough videos proving it would be a great choice. I seen one video of a guy that even owns one but says it's too shaky at highway speeds. All the other videos I've seen show different. I don't need a speed demon. I just want something capable of safely doing highway speeds, should I chose to hit the highway. I've seen that they have plenty in the reserve for passing as well. I have had lots of bikers tell me that I'm too big for an 883. They are the same size as a 1200, less the bigger engine. Last time I went to a Harley dealer, I sat on a 1200 sportster thinking it was an 883, until I looked down at the breather cover.

My Sportsters rear brake used to do that too, I pulled the pad and put a thin layer of caliper grease on the back of pads and contact points on the caliper. Took care of the noise, you can also use copper anti-seize.

Regarding AMF management: Yes, they were stupid in their management and marketing strategies. However, they are responsible for engineering the new Evo (Evolution) motor for the Big Twins (80ci/1340cc) and for the Sportster (883cc and 1200cc). Unfortunately, since then H-D stopped making the Big Twin motor in spite of a loyal following. But the good news is the Sportster motor continues...at least as long as the EPA will allow it.

Check out XLFORUM.NET to find confirmed cases of Evo Sportster's going over 200K miles. It isn't the fastest or best handling but it is probably the most durable, reliable and easy to fix motorcycle on the market. I bought my 2005 XL883 Standard which had been sitting in a garage for years and covered in dust with less than 10K miles on it for only $2500 including many accessories. I've done no repairs, a tune-up and a few DIY mod's for further reliability which didn't cost much. Now with over 10K more miles on it, it has never failed to start first time and runs perfectly. I replaced the original tires which looked good but were too old and now I'm ready to replace another pair simply because of all the miles on them. Love it!!!!
