  • Ever wish you could learn how to play those busy, fast strum patterns on your acoustic guitar (or electric guitar) without sounding sloppy and goofy?
The trick to playing busy strum patterns comfortably is to start slow with easier patterns, and work up to playing fast with the hard ones. I'll show you how to do that in this video, where I respond to a comment asking for help with the strumming on a KT Tunstall song (she wrote hits like Suddenly I See and Black Horse and the Cherry Tree).
KT is a master of making busy strumming sound good, so I thought I'd include a few of her most popular songs as I show you how to work up to strumming quickly but smoothly!

If you have anything to add, please leave a comment below. I love hearing from you guys!
    Thanks for watching :)

Kyle, I can’t thank you enough for creating this lesson-I'm incredibly grateful for all of the time you put into it. It truly shows, and you've finally solved the strumming mystery for me! For whatever reason, I find the straight time patterns much easier to grasp at the higher BPMs. I'm glad you enjoyed the "reintroduction" to KT Tunstall; she’s such an incredible rhythmic guitarist and performer. Again, thank you for diving into all of these details, and I hope your audience will benefit from the insights as well. Also hoping you are inspired enough to add a few of these KT songs into your personal setlist. Thank you again - you are the best!
