This was a nice review of the treadmill and a nice breakdown on the issues it has and what to watch out for. I have to say I think your crazy for buying this type of treadmill if your a runner. It is not at all designed for running no matter how it is advertised or how fast it can go MPH. This is a walking pad, period. If you expect to run on a treadmill that will last, you need to purchase a solid full sized treadmill, like a Horizon, ProForm, Sole which are usually the budget brands but should last for 3-5 years at least. Using this walking pad to run on, Is like using a crowbar to hammer in a nail, sure it can work in a pinch but it's not what it is designed for. It's the wrong tool for the job. The fact that you somehow managed to get a year and a half out of the first one, by running on it, you should count yourself lucky.
Agree completely. My wife actually got it so that she could walk while working at her desk at home. Since the winters here are not the nicest and I lose motivation to get out the door and run as I age, I couldn't help but try to put some miles on it. I knew better, but I had to try lol. They really should limit this unit to 5mph maximum to stop people from thinking they can use it for running. Since I posted this video, I burned up the motor in the one I was using (the stator completely detached and was grinding on the rotor). The heat sensor was kaputt in the other one, so I "Frankenstein-ed" all the parts and once again have a functioning treadmill. We now lift it off the ground with a 3/4" plywood slab on each end for cooling and my wife no longer allows me to run on it. :)
Regarding the overheating - the manual tells to place on smooth ground, so I think a carpet will not allow enough airflow underneath to prevent overheating
Agreed. I have been running it on 3/4" plywood lately, but it still gets really hot. It's just a bad treadmill (cheap in every sense of the word) when all is said and done.
I play vrchat often in my free time, and am watching a way to be constantly active while talking with my friends. I'm around 145~150lbs, and want to exclusively walk on it. The handlebar seems extremely useful to keep my balance while being unable to see my surroundings. I have a carpeted floor and will absolutely use that carboard trick as well as fans directly on it. This seems like the perfect purchase for me, thank you for being upfront with the downsides. They seem like issues I can pretty easily mitigate. I'm also decently crafty so the "option/possible neccesity" to reinforce it seems like a fun challenge if I need to.
The reason why you keep over heating is due to the unit sitting on carpet. You need to place it either on a hard surface or place a pad between the unit and your rug. Rug fibers tend to drift up into the motor restricting airflow, shortening the life of the motor...
DeeRun 3 in 1 treadmillhas a warrantee for two years, not one. And, it has a 3.0 motor, not 2.5. Max speed is at 7.6 mph, with max weight of 300 pounds. Just make sure to use the silicone lubricant upon first use, then every 100 hours of use.
It's hard to explain verbally without a video, but if you unplug the unit and turn it on its side, you can remove the screws on the underside of the unit that hold the top display plate where you read your stats. It'll still be connected via a wire that goes from one circuit board to the other, so be careful. Take a picture so that you'll know where the wire goes when you unplug it. Now that you can see the circuit board, you can take an air compressor and blow out the motor. I always see feathers come out from pillows and lots of dust. You can also clean the heat sink which is the aluminum colored thing that is attached to the circuit board in the unit. [Go to 4:53 in the video, you'll see the circuit board just to the left of center near the bottom, and the heat sink is the vertical piece that is silver colored along the top left edge -- it's got fins to dissipate the heat but they get caked with dust which holds the heat on the unit] I use QD Electronic Cleaner cleaner which comes in a can and dries almost instantly after you spray it. I spray the whole circuit board and the heat sink and I haven't had a problem with it damaging anything. I also use a q-tip to get any hair or dust off of the heat sink that the spray doesn't remove. You'll have to bend the q-tip on a 90 degree at times to get the underside of the fins. If you open the unit so that it looks like 4:53 and you see what looks like gnarly finger nail clippings from an ogre everywhere on the floor of the motor area, then your unit is on its way out. That is stuff from inside the motor that is burning and falling out. When ours did this, we had maybe a month remaining and the stator inside the motor sheared off and brought the motor to a halt. Safety Disclaimer: The circuit board has a capacitor on it which stores electricity even after you unplug the unit. Don't go around touching the circuit board (especially the terminals of the capacitor) with your hands if you don't know what you're doing. :)
Man, this well thought out answer shows that we have nice humans roaming around the planet. Thank you very much for taking the time. I opened this week actually, after seeing this video, as I got curious about where the smell was coming from. Not terribly hard. I am no technician, so I vacuumed ogre nails and my girl’s hairs from the insides, but the motor still heats up quite bad. It still runs, but while I used to put 10 miles daily, and now I do 3 and I fear this thing will put my house on fire. I will try your more technical tips here and see if it helps. I looked up a cost for a motor (unsure if I even looked correctly), but the total would come out to 100+ dollars, and at that point I’m sure I can find something new for maybe a bit more…. Thanks again, you are the man
The motor gets hot, and the heat sink -- which is supposed to dissipate the heat -- is too small for this unit. If you touch the display area near the front/bottom of the treadmill it will be very hot to the touch. If you are just walking, it doesn't get that hot.
Now THIS is a real review of this treadmill. The others are just cookie-cutter scripted reviews. Just TH-camrs fulfilling their end of a business deal with this company.
Yes, and I've had to Frankenstein the thing once again with parts from both units since releasing this video to get it to work again. Needless to say, my wife no longer lets me run on it and it is for her to walk on only.
All of these complaints are user error. It is not made for running it is made for walking and light use. You put it on the worst possible surface. Such a strange video title for something that seemed to have great customer service.
I agree, it's not made for running based on the quality of the materials used and the cheap motor. That being said, it should not be able to do 7.6mph and mislead people who are interested in purchasing it. If it is only for walking, they should max it out between 4-5mph. Having it max out at 7.6mph just invites people to use it at the max speed.
Honestly, these are called a “walking pad” for a reason. Although you can run on them, they are designed for walking.
Ordered this a day back. Good to see this video on what to expect. Thanks for taking the time to share!

We have since started using 3/4" plywood to prop it up for better ventilation on the carpet. Much better than cardboard. Good luck with yours!

True, but carpet is a common floor surface in many houses. People want to be able use their treadmill where their TV or desk is.
You would not go to a gym with carpet….. just get a piece of mdf board and lay it under
First honest review I have seen 👍👌
Thanks for your review as I was about to order this Urevo walking pad. I’m not light weight nor handy😢 so, I’m going back to the drawing board.🤷🏻♀️

Wich deerrun do you recomend?
I have had mine for 2 years (walking only). Now getting overheating issues all the time. Any suggestions?
Maybe replacing the motor? Would be great if you could add a link where you bought yours

This exact one I have stopped working after 1 year with an E07 error code.
Thank you so much I was leaning forward to this pad.
What would you suggest as an alternative?
Go walk outside.

I like that you repair things. But is it really worth the effort? That are somewhat cheap treadmills.
No, it's not worth it but I always like to tinker with stuff. 😆
Yeah, these aren't meant to run on. Just buy a running treadmill.
Why don’t you contact the manufacturer and create your own walking pad, you did such a great job…
