In the movie Donnie was tortured (electrocuted and stabbed multiple times for days on end) by Japanese soldiers and this fight took place just afterward. That's why he was bleeding through his jacket. Otherwise the last fight would've been easy for him.
He did get ragdolled in the beginning of the last fight!

Donnie Yen played Ip Man in the Ip Man series, he played Chen Zhen in the Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zhen, he played a high school teacher in Big Brother (which you should definitely watch, best movie), and he played as Hanou Mo in Kung Fu Jungle (another movie you should watch). Those movies had a lot of combat in it. Big Brother being the least.

Donnie Yen must watch list: the Ip Man series (especially the first one); Iron Monkey (he plays Wong Kei Ying, father of famous folk hero Wong Fei Hung); Once Upon A Time In China (he has a big fight scene against Jet Li, one of the best onscreen fights in both their careers) Fun fact: Jet Li played this same character in the film 'Fist of Legend'; both films are homages to the role originally played by Bruce Lee, though Donnie's style is much more true to Bruce's (absolutely nothing wrong with Jet's though :)

I think this is Chen-Zhen Movie Reboot from the Bruce Lee's Classic one
It's not a reboot, even though it is a character Bruce Lee played. This version is really based on the tv show Fist of Fury which Donnie Yen was also in.
It was actually a sequel to Jet Li's Fist of Legend

Totally loved your reaction but instead sometimes just reacting solely to the action sequence and the fight itself. Maybe you can research about why this fight started and what is it for. For this case, China was invaded by Japan in 1937. Long story short, Japanese always claim the Chinese to be "Sick men of East Asia". You remember you reacted to Bruce Lee's fist of fury, he made the two Japanese eat the paper at the end. The paper itself writes "Sick men of East Asia" so basically Chen Zhen is a fictional Chinese hero that stands up as a patriotic and nationalistic Chinese against the Japanese during the occupation!
