Roy Parks* But some people actually trying to connect it with reality. Are you related to KARATE master Ed Parks from South Korea of the 60s? I was back in that time.
A little context: During that period where the Japanese were engaging in a military occupation of large parts of China, the Japanese did a lot worse than what you see in The Chinese Connection. They weren’t just leaving insulting signs at Kung Fu master’s funerals (like the one Bruce Lee returns in this video). FB friends of mine have posted Japanese newspaper articles, documenting contests between Japanese military officers engaged in contests to see who could decapitate the most Chinese civilians in a week. The newspaper was actually sponsoring or encouraging the competition, publishing photos of the officers posing with their collection of civilian heads. I’m not sure if the Japanese had any similar complaints against the Chinese, but there were allegations of Japanese rape gangs and whatnot as well. They’ve been much better since 1945 or so, but the undercurrent of racial tension was much stronger than the film gives away.
No it's true that it isn't Bruce's real voice. That's because these are dubbed into english and Bruce only appeared in two american produced movies... Marlowe and enter the dragon. And the sign Bruce carries reads "sick man of Asia" (watch movie for better explanation)
He wasn't like that in real life though. He said he only acted like that as a kid in Hong Kong until he discovered philosophy and changed his whole perspective.
Man oh man at 2:23_2:24 somewhere in between that ticking time. Did any one NOTICE? I repeated notice how f ING fast that is b4 Bruce hit the little Japanese on the side of the neck, he already tap the Japanese hand, when the little Japanese reach, and try to grap him.
it might not look like it but nunchaku is maybe the most deadly weapon in close combat, even softer weapons are now prohibited from use by the swedish police because of the damage they can do :P
If someone says to you we fight altogether or Alone and you still want to fight him you have to be mentally insane as that means he could whip your arse into the middle of next week.keep up the great content.
Jet Li does his version of this in "Fist of the Legend" In America this film is called "The Chinese Connection" however, in Hong Kong it was originally titled the "Fist of Fury" . However There was a movie in Hong Kong which starred Bruce Lee called the Big Boss, but when it came to America they named it the "Fist of Fury....Crazy huh? So in Hong Kong this movie is the First of Fury but in America it's the Chinese Connection. Also the Fist of Fury in America is originally titled the Big Boss. The Return of the Dragon in America is called The Way of the Dragon in Hong Kong, and Bruce last movie called the Game of Death in America is Called the Pagoda of Death in Hong Kong
The crazy thing is Bruce could actually throw kicks like that. lol. He spent time harnessing his kicks to faster and more powerful than his punches. He could legitimately kick people in the face like that lightening fast, if he wanted. People think Jackie Chan is crazy today, but he was faster than Jackie Chan. Interesting to me when I see people say he can’t fight but yet to average joe, he could easily kick his foot up to your head and hit you before you knew what happened.
Best lines: "Now you listen to me. I'm only going to say this once. We are not sick men." - Bruce Lee, after annihilating the dojo and the sensei that humiliated and gave his Chinese kung fu school a sign that says "the Chinese are the sick men of Asia." During the time period that this movie takes place, the Japanese military occupied large portions of China- killing many innocent Chinese civilians (including my grandfather from my mother's side) and raping many Chinese women. This movie struck a very personal, emotional chord with the Chinese people when it came out as it boldly and fearlessly showed a Chinese hero defending the land (like if it were a Jewish fighter taking out the Nazi army, or a Black soldier taking out the KKK), breaking records and made Bruce Lee a hero.
It's me again! I get your videos in my suggestions. Let me know if Im getting too into it with the explanations. :P The sign was presented to the Ching Wu school. Chen Zhen ( Bruce ) was late returning to a funeral service of his master, the Legendary Huo Yuanjia ( the movie with Jet Li, Fearless is based on Huo and his exploits and in a way is an unofficial prequel that led up to the events of this movie with some changes ) was poisoned. The time period takes place at the turn of the 19th century in the international settlement in Honk Kong. It's actually part martial arts action, drama, thriller ( Chen actuall becomes a serial killer out of wrath and vengeance ) civil rights movie as it's full of how Chinese got treated by foreigners in their own land. Well Chen shows up and is grieving at the funeral. During the service at the Ching Wu school in which Chen is their number one boxer ( boxing and boxer in Kung Fu refers to how good one is at martial arts, not just the use of but usually referring to your fist ), the Japanese Honkou school send their regards with that sign. The sign translates to read ''Chinese are sick men of Asia'' which is a racial slur
U need to watch the movie. The sign was delivered to the Chinese school, it says sick men of Asia. It's about racial equality. Those two said if they lost to a Chinese they would eat those words.
Cliff Niiranen But if he watched the movie before, wouldn’t it make this video not a reaction? Because he already watched this once, during the movie. A reaction is best when it’s the first time seeing something. I don’t think this guy wants to do full movie reactions.
The main reason i dont like dubbing is cause you dont hear Bruce's screams! Bruce's screams is one of my favourite things about watching him fight! But at the end though he could at least have given him some ketchup to go with the paper :(
Hey man if you where wondering what that sign bruce lee was returning to them said. Then let me inform you and tell you that it said "Sick Men of Asia" I do not know for sure but if I remember correctly. But what I think is that The Japanese students gave it to bruce lee and the rest of his students to maybe insult them because they where Chinese students
@@cuzz63 well honestly yeah that does sound like a better translation. I can’t remember the last time that I saw this movie. But from what I remember is I think that the sign did indeed say “Sick Man Of Asia.” I really haven’t seen the movie in while so that is what I remember it saying
Does anyone else thinks the first Japanese student who tried to take bruce on looks like an asian brad pit?...lol for some reason he remains me of brad pit. Im a fan but not a huge fan of brad pit, its just hes super famous.
9:20 "This time you're eating paper. The next time it's gonna be glass"
Best line throughout that entire scene statement imo.

@@robertanderson4369 because most wouldn't know who ip man was if Bruce Lee didnt get famous so respect both ✌
Imagine studying martial arts and some guy comes in and beats up the whole school including the teacher. I would be ready to switch schools.
Roy Parks* But some people actually trying to connect it with reality. Are you related to KARATE master Ed Parks from South Korea of the 60s? I was back in that time.
Thats what the Gracies actually did.
I would ask him to be my teacher
😂😂😂😂
Classic movie. This was actually my very first Bruce Lee movie and first martial arts movie.

R.I.P.
King of Martial Arts
Bruce Lee
He literally made them eat their words
Yup short dude was like a punching bag to Bruce Lee could have Beat the Japanese wolf the one said Alright.
Not only Bruce Lee was fighter extra-ordinaire, but he was a great actor as well.
legend always be a legend
U know Bruce lee punches were so fast than a slo mo camera
The sign that Bruce brought in says something to the effect "The Chinese are the weak men of Asia" He was not going to let that pass.

You have to watch the lead up to this scene to fully understand the context and appreciate how good this scene really was.
Yes. You're right
Exactly

Plus, the Green Hornet his first shot, but the most intellectual one is Longstreet made in Cali.
Bruce Lee is the legend of all time.
1:04 oh so this is where Kung Fu Hustle got their theme song from xD
You could say he deFEETed them :)
Good reaction, you remind me when I was 35 years younger watching Bruce Lee movies.
This scene made my beard grow up.
I love how bruce lee looks for trouble. He would have been a hilarious shit talker had he fought in mma.
He wasn't like that in real life though. He said he only acted like that as a kid in Hong Kong until he discovered philosophy and changed his whole perspective.
great reaction man
Thank you Bruce Lee. I practice jeet kune do.
JUST,LUV YOUR POSTS-BOBBY BLUE--
JUST AWESOME
The 14 people that disliked the video are the people from the dojo
This scene is quintessential.
bruce lee had the best fight choreography out of any one even better than john wick even the camera work is amazing i would say john wick is second
How ironic a Chinese martial artist using a Japanese weapon to beat Japanese fighters.
"if you wanna know how that feels.... Ever hit your funny bone, and it hurt like SHYT??? Yeah"
Best Ever
Legend Great Mr.Bruce lee

Rest in peace king bruce
They were "eating their words" written on the paper. Good movie.

That bruce pick up two of them spinning like a fidget spinner they throw them

The most impressive thing is that he didn't hit anyone with those nunchucks.
It was dubbed because the original one was filmed in the official language set in Hong Kong.
One my favor movie I might watch 108 time
You must be tired of living😂😂😂

Jackie chan was actually a stunt double in this movie
Classic
2:23 Bruce Lee did a fake punch to the face before actually doing a backhand to the back of the head.
Imagine your toes getting crushed
The Legend (Bruce Lee) invented a new weapon. Remember that. Nom chucks if you didn't know.
He didn’t invent it he learned from Dan Inosanto about how to do nunchucks
you should do a reaction to "birth of the dragon" if you haven't alright. keep up the good work, I like watching your reactions.
The sign said "Dogs of Asia"
Bruce lee NO.1
Jet li was so young when he tried to step with Bruce Lee lol
Bruce Lee's dub sounds like google voice
I need to know the theme song, please
