- This week I'm bringing you on a little date with my husband as we go for lunch in Orvieto, Umbria. We dined at the Trattoria dell'Orso and enjoyed traditional pasta. delicious meat courses and dolci.

Every day I get so many emails and comments asking why you can’t locate the music I use or find it using Shazam. I purchase music licenses for almost all the music you hear in my videos. I buy them them from various royalty-free production music sites and most of the time they don’t list the performer because it’s music made only for film productions with an audio watermark throughout the entire track, unless you purchase the single-use license for $50-100 per track. I use a lot of opera so often I’ll reference the opera but I won’t be able to direct you to a recording of that specific performance that you could stream or buy on iTunes or Spotify. Yes, it is! We actually had to go to Umbria to see a guy about handmade terracotta for the chicken coop cottage so we made a day of it.

Orvieto is a lovely town. Very clean. Well laid out. A joy to walk around. I first went there 25 years ago.I hope it has retained it's charm.Your video has given me hope not to worry. Loved the interview with the chef. Glad you enjoyed your time together. I think trattorias are preferable over restaurants.

I love watching Guido eat his food. He really has appreciation for his food. Kyle has a great appreciation as well, but Guido Loves his food.
I was thinking the same thing as he devoured the lamb and starting eyeing the guinea fowl. Hopefully Kylie had more that a couple of bites of pasta and bird.

Interesting to hear your thoughts about innovative, sometimes overambitious Michelin-rewarded cuisine versus well-done traditional trattoria-style cuisine. I think Italians often consciously aim at being true to traditional ways of doing things because it's simply tried and tested best practice, be it in cuisine, crafts, fashion etc. Elegant in its simplicity. Maybe that's one of the secrets of the success of the Italian luxury goods industry? And it's great that the chef who hails from Poland has adopted this philosophy. There is a saying “if it isn’t broken don’t try to fix it” I’m a recipe developer and I specialise in Italian, French and Middle Eastern cuisines. I too believe that there are certain dishes you just need to leave alone, they deserve the status they have had for many many years. I’m half French so I know exactly what Guido is saying xx❤

Love this one! My mom and I really enjoyed exploring Orvieto when we visited Italy. The church is breathtaking -- photos and video are hard to do it justice. I remember just standing in awe in that same alley you were in.

I always say as an American we ‘try to make food better tp death! Traditional is the best. Italy is my favorite place to be and eat.

Your lunch takes me back to my month long visit to Umbria, eating for an hour or more in a little restaurant making those little moans of joy tasting the most delicious foods.

I believe when I watched it was TV episodes and cooking adventures. This is real life and same concept except some renovations and still the cooking and the daily life of a married couple growing a family and enjoyment of life.

Six years ago, on our road trip from Rome to Florence, we stayed at Agriturismo Il Poggio di Orvieto. I highly recommend it. The view of Orvieto from the property is breathtaking. We loved Orvieto.
❤️😍❤️❤️🥰❤️ the Fall vibe, the incredibly simply colored and absolute masterpiece cathedral! That door alone, oy!! Very unexpected on a 'small' town and the cinghiale, my 'all-time-fave'. There used to be a small Italian restaurant on W 56th St in Manhattan that offered Pappardelle al Cinghiale every Spring. I used to gobble it all up. Thank you for such beautiful simplicity and Guido eating with his hands ... the way it should be!

Oooooh! This episode made me really miss Italy! Orvieto is one of my favorite towns there and pasta al ragu di cinghiale is one of my all-time fave dishes. Now I can't wait to return - and this trattoria has been added to my list Thank you, Kylie, for taking us along with you to Umbria.

I remember Orvieto, I was so impressed by the Duomo, the mosaics reflecting, sparking in the sun! When you said that the trattoria del Orso has been preparing this pasta the last 30 years, I realized I was there as a child with my parents but that was already 47/48 years ago 😮😢 Incredible how time passes, I have to return with my husband! Definitely!

First of all, you look stunning in green! That is my favorite color green and perfect for the fall and winter coming soon! The both of you eating in this trattoria by yourselves and being able to speak to the chef, that’s right up my style and right up my alley. I was raised by an Italian mother and learned to respect all spices all styles of cooking and to be open-minded and diversified. And that’s what you embodied in this video and great cinematography. Delicioso.

Lovely. My brother has a house overlooking Orvieto so we know it well. It’s a very special place. Have never tried that trattoria so will recommend it to him!
Ok…. I’ve always liked your cinematography, but my favorite parts are changing now. I know you’re trying to frame a scene with a mood, but the other couple sitting observing you stroll by at the beginning and the end are hilarious to me, because I have family members that would be looking the same way. The guy is just great in that scene. But it’s equally as funny watching Gui do Gui things. I was half expecting him to snarl tearing the remaining flesh off the bone as you’re trying to speak. That’s when you know the food is good. My uncles and I went out to the Benjamin Steak house in NYC and they purposely put us in a corner because we told them what we were planning to do to the porterhouse. Funny stuff… love the images… thanks for your style.
Love Orvieto, we go there evey time we visit Italy. However, our favorite restaurant is. in Citta Della Pieve.."Bistrot Del Duca, we stumbled upon it years ago and try and return when we can.
I had wild boar and pasta several times in Tuscany with red sauce. Loved it. Miss it. No truffles

The heart of Italian cooking… authenticity and simplicity. OMG the prices were so low, how can they make a living? These ‘chefs’ who feel a need to transform the classic dishes leave us cold. No more foam or deconstructed whatever… It’s one of the reasons we love living in Italy. Best wishes Maria e Rowan
