The scene in The Sixth Sense where Cole reveals everything to his mom while they are in the car gets me choked up every single time. Not to take away from Haley Joel Osment's acting in that scene, which I think was really good as the tenderness he showed his mom really came through, but Toni Collette's acting during that scene was absolutely top notch and that whole scene felt so real.
Love Crimson peak! I saw that after getting home from a paranormal tour in Tombstone, AZ - mortuary tour with a lights out portion. So much spooky fun!
Pretend you're a fat woman and then go watch it. Pure, ugly, unacceptable, misogynist hatred. But, then, now we know the truth about Gaiman so it's not surprising he would get off on hating women. At the very least, deny an evil person royalties.
The Changeling has been getting some well deserved love lately! Good to see. I think it's funny that Ebert complained the protagonist was "too competent" and "rational" for a horror movie. But that's what I like so much about it! For once, it doesn't spend half the runtime waiting for him to decide he's not crazy
This may sound weird but I love watching Blair Witch movies during fall, especially when it's raining. I don't know why but the first two films make me feel really cozy. lol
My favorite cozy horror movies are: Thirteen Ghosts Sleepy Hollow Poltergeist Ginger Snaps Trick R Treat Re Animator Idk if this counts but also Scooby Doo on Zombie Island lol
I really need to see Gingersnaps... I was a teen when it came out but never watched it. I don't think it did well at the time, isn't it more of a cult classic now?
Casper, Hocus Pocus, ParaNorman, Beetlejuice, Coraline, Elvira: Mistress of the Dark, The Witches, The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Monster Squad and Little Monsters.
The way you preface with saying that, yes, there will be another video with super scary movie recommendations, too, just shows how well you actually know us 😌😄 thank you so much for regular uploads and your work. Have a great day everyone 🙏🏻
Hey Sarah.. I used to watch your videos with my ex-girlfriend.. She held (still holds I guess) your taste in horror movies in extremely high regard. Unfortunately we broke up and I'm kinda in a shitty place. I just happened to come across this video while doom scrolling and the memories came flooding in. Thank you for the memories you helped me create. I loved watching horror movies with her. Take care.
To give some language, most of these movies are Gothic Horror. An eerie setting where the location feels like a separate character, a mystery, little to no gore or blood, and commentary that falls within the current zeitgeist; bingo bango, Gothic Horror.
I also love The Village. I thought it was an excellent movie. My cozy favorite is Mad Monster Party. It’s a children’s stop motion movie, but I absolutely love it.
Classic horror movies always add coziness, The Fly (1&2), Psycho, They Live, or Invasion of the Body Snatchers. 60s 70s and 80s have the best campfire horror movies ❤
@@whalewolf7477 i honestly disagree, the lack of dialog adds to the vagueliness and makes you use your imagination or keeps you interested because they only give you so much info. I was introduced to the horror genre (and really my whole personality 😜) at a super young age with the movies The Changeling and The Haunting. Also, Lady in White and the old classics The Wolf Man, Frankenstein and Dracula. These are all comfort, through and through and great to watch any time of the year 🖤
I know you don't like older movies, but The Birds or Psycho by Alfred Hitchcock are great psychological cozies. They were considered terrifying at the time, but now they are interesting psychological horrors.
Thankyou for this because the way I'm prone to nightmares I can not take the super terrifying horror and I'm not into the cute and kiddish Halloweentown-esque seasonal movies either. This is a nice middle ground.
It’s not technically horror or a movie, but my cozy spooky watch every fall is Over the Garden Wall. There are frightening elements, but it never crosses the line to horror. I say that, but a friend was so distressed by the first two episodes that she’s having trouble watching the rest. It’s my tradition to watch it on Halloween with my friends and family, and I cannot recommend it enough!
Sleepy hollow is my very cozy spooky movie. I also love Hocus pocus and halloweentown for a cozy watch. Another recommendation could be crimson peak. That one gives me cozy vibes as well.
Also i think the 1989 version of The Woman In Black scarier than the 2012 version, it's a TV film but it has a great spooky atmosphere and less jump scares except for one big one which i won't spoil
I’d like to suggest The Fog to this list! It has such cozy vibes and that calm jazz always playing! It’s not necessarily a fall/halloween movie, it takes place in April, but the northern coastal setting gives it a chilly feeling throughout!
I’m so glad as a poor college student that most of these movies are on tubi 😭 Wanting to do a rewatch of Pet Sematary 2 soon! Definitely my favorite comfy movie!
I can barely wait till you post another video. I love listening to all recommendations. I just finished penpal absolutely loved it now. I am reading home before dark. Thank you for taking the time to spend with us.
I love “The Innocents” from 1961. Based on the Turn of the Screw. Wonderful period atmosphere, beautiful mansion and a great ghost story. Deborah Kerr is perfect as Miss Giddens, the governess.
13:35 Ty West's 'The House of the Devil' (2009) is suuuper cozy. That creepy house feels cozy & Greta Gerwig gives one of the greatest 'final girl's best friend' in horror movies
The Woman in Black scared the hell out of me. I loved every second of it. It was like being a little kid again. I love the book too. Hard to imagine it came out in the 80s. I thought it was like hundreds of years old 😂
I love The 6th Sense and that a reason you chose it was bc of the cute sweater moments for fall/holidays lol. It's such a good movie and totally agreed on Toni Colette. Amazing.
Sleepy Hollow was the first scary movie I ever watched as a little kid. Gosh, I was sooooo scared I couldn’t sleep at night for days. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw the Hessian Horseman’s spiky teeth. Even though it terrified me, I was intrigued - and I loved it. It was my gateway into becoming a horror genre lover, which makes the movie super dear to me. And to this day, I have the biggest crush on young Johnny Depp as Ichabod Crane. Holy macaroni! He looks so goddamn fine in this movie - that gorgeous hair, those clothes, his angsty personality, and yet, he’s still so brave. Gosh, so hot and cute 🖤 One of my favorite characters he’s ever played. But I love all the movies in your list 🖤
To me nothing is more cozy and perfect for fall than Halloween. The time period, the setting, the entire concept of a good old fashioned Boogeyman. It's my favorite comfort movie during fall.
Mine are Sleepy Hollow, the Addams Family/Addams Family Values, The Ring, A Tale of Two Sisters, the Thirteen Ghosts remake, Beetlejuice, and Jennifer's Body. I also like the House on Haunted Hill and the Haunting, but I don't consider them cozy. Oh man, anytime someone mentions a Bruce Willis movie, I just get sad since he has dementia now.
It’s going to sound odd but mine is the Witch. I could watch it a million times and it never gets old. I love anything medieval or in the 1600-1700’s or of course Victorian gothic times. Also Bram Stokers Dracula is a comfort movie for me. The aesthetic of that film is top tier for me. And finally the Craft, the original of course! Not never all Fall movies but just comfy cozy vibes from all of these movies gets me every time 😉🧖♀️👻 Thanks Sarah another great video ❤️

Such a visually stunning movie. I love everything about that type of melodramatic story, and the set design is so scrumptious it hurts.
