I always love how thorough, thoughtful and creative you are with your recommendations. You make content in a way that really prioritizes your audience, which includes always going the extra mile to find something for everyone. Thank you for all that you do! Wishing you, and everyone else a happy and safe Halloween! 🎃
So happy you mentioned Session 9! That movie doesn't get nearly as much recognition as it deserves. Very atmospheric, eerie, unsettling, and disturbing, what more could you ask for???
No one ever recommends this one, but it could honestly fit in so many categories: The Rocky Horror Picture Show! It's my absolute favorite movie to watch on Halloween and who can resist doing the Time Warp? (It's just a jump to the left... )
I went to a screening of it last night on Halloween! There was a costume contest and people were doing the audience participation thing, it was so fun! Hadn't seen it in years but I remembered all the songs cause I used to listen to the soundtrack so much as a teen
the recommendation of the Substance and Starry Eyes is perfect. two of my favorites as well, and i think the feeling of desperation from the main characters and the lengths they go to to make it in their respective industries and how that industry eats away at them makes it a perfect double feature.
Oddity is sooo well done. I think it’s my favourite horror movie of 2024 so far. Those jump scares *really* got me a few times. I haven’t been scared like that from a horror movie in a while!
I will never stop hyping up The Lodge. It's become a yearly winter watch for me because I tend to want sorrowful films during that time bc of seasonal depression, would love to see a "mood based recs" video for winter themed movies if you've got enough for that!
Thanks for dropping this video at the time you did - my Halloween isnt exactly going to plan, so relying on movies is exactly what I need right now. You're the best!
Thank you so much for this list! I have newborn and have limited time for movies, So I picked Hell fest because I hadn’t seen it yet. Absolutely loved it :)
"No Entres" (Do not enter) is a paraguayan movie released in 2024. I would recommand it to anyone who is a fan of found footage movies. It's very similar to grave encounters (trapped in an asylum) but is, I would say, at least as scary as grave encounters or even scarier. Seriously, give it a shot.
Daddy’s head and oddity are 10000% the best for that category. That movie GOT me. Knowing we have very similar horror tastes makes me sooo excited to watch your recommendations. Very stoked I found your channel. Happy Halloween!!
i just watched “from beyond” last night and it reminded me of the substance so much with the body horror and was so soo good, i’m surprised i haven’t seen in mentioned in body horror and substance comparison conversations before. freaky, kinky, disgusting, amazing
Damn I didn’t realize this notification 😅 I could have used it for Halloween when I was at a loss on what to watch lol no one does horror content like you! 🖤 only con is I don’t have all streaming platforms :( edit: I love love how you’ve always put where to watch the movies under the title 🖤
I always watch Halloween 1, 2, & 3 on Halloween night in reverse order so I can end with the original Halloween. Sleepy Hollow always on Halloween eve.
Incident in a Ghostland is such a great movie! I’ve watched it twice and I will definitely watch it again sometime. I love Pascal Laugier and it’s so great that he has movies that are (just a tiny bit lighter than Martyrs - though I’ve watched that twice too) I haven’t The Tall Man yet and I’m most definitely going to!
We watched Tim Burton's Sleepy Hollow this year. Usually we also watch Trick 'R Treat but it's gotten too late. Session 9 is a great movie! It was filmed at the Danvers Asylum before it was converted into apartments
Yep, now I want to watch Oddity again! I'm even fine with paying the rental fee for the second time. That is a magnificent movie!!! Thanks for reminding me, Sarah. 😘
I feel like you are one of the only people I watch who thoroughly enjoyed Annihilation!!! I will defend that movie with my life but even more so the books, if you haven’t read them I think you’d thoroughly enjoy!! And justice for the Southern Reach trilogy, they deserve to be developed into films too 😢
For Melancholy I was hoping you would suggest The Night House! As someone who deals with depression and dark thoughts that one had me crying like a baby 🥲
Perhaps it’s cliche or super predictable, but I always watch the original Halloween on Halloween. It’s one of my favorite horror films and has the best Halloween vibes in my opinion. I also love to watch Rosemary’s Baby, The Exorcist or The Shining. I know there are so many other great films, but these are my cozy comfort movies
Happy Halloween Eve!!! I always watch Ghostbusters 1984 with some of the Real Ghostbusters cartoon every Halloween!! But this Halloween, I will be watching my 4 favorite adaptations of Dracula!!
We're living in multiple interlocking crises: climate crisis, multiple wars, genocides, pandemic (yes, covid -- it's still going on and the pandemic is not over), cost of living/late-stage capitalism, just to name a few. It's harder and harder to be okay with slow-moving societal collapse. Horror movies are simultaneously a refuge and a way to feel mentally prepared. Thanks for asking if we're okay and for the great list!
17:11 my general rule for horror films is DO EAT ANYTHING because there will likely be blood, gore, poo, etc. (also dont eat while watching most comedies because there is a chance of gross out "humor")
I was planning on rewatching Audition on Halloween, just got a craving for it, but I might have to pivot so I can rewatch The Substance with some friends who haven't seen it yet!
Oh my gosh… session 9. That movie bothered me so much. I remember we were having dinner while watching it and I couldn’t finish my burger. The movie is not even scary but it is disturbing. I couldn’t eat the rest of the day 😫🤪😅.
I'm planning to watch four films, so here is my list: 1. Nosferatu the Vampyre 1979 2. Cat People 1942 3. Basket Case 1982 4. Night of the Living Dead 1968
Great vid, appreciate your reviews especially on newer movies (I'm kinda old & seen most older films already :P) Having vintage horror as background during a party is one of my fave things to do. I have a Halloween party every year & created a TH-cam Playlist which I update frequently. Old & new horror/thriller/cult movie trailers, drive-in theater concession ads, horror/punk surf & indie bands, vintage halloween cartoons, etc. It's really good. In fact - I'm gonna go play it right now!
For melancholy/sad: The Girl Next Door (2007), a true story about the tragic murder and torture of Sylvia Likens, WARNING: There are triggers (SA), but this is a heart wrenching story
Incident in a Ghostland is such a great movie. Yes, it’s messed up and horrible, but I just thought it was such a well written movie from beginning to end
I found the lodge upsetting but not because of the horror, because i was mad at what was happening because it makes no dang sense, i wont say what specifically because i dont want to spoil it though
Trick 'R Treat is planned for tomorrow, perfect Halloween "decorum" and the movie is great. In Europe it's called Brain Dead, have it on VHS, and that one scene with the ear...the only time where I actually wanted to throw up (I was eating, not knowing this is not the movie to watch while eating! A cult movie). Not yet watched Love Lies Bleeding, might try it tomorrow, so thank you! Might add Starry Eyes too, I have a good memory of it. For the next day comfort movies: Knives out of course, such a terrific Autumn funny perfect movie! And the series "Only Murders in the Building": more funny and crime also, but great and you really laugh and full on Autumn. Happy Samhain and Halloween, and Day of the Dead to you and everyone!
Just wasched "Time Cut" and it was p good! v good rec for nostolgic horror. they go back in time in 2004. as a millinial this hilt the feels. p decent soundtrack too
I think Death Becomes Her is a great movie that goes well as a double feature with the Substance
I agree death becomes her is one of my faves as well 🎃👻
I always watch TRICK ‘R TREAT on Halloween night now. I used to always watch SLEEPY HOLLOW. Both are perfect Halloween movies! 🎃🎃🎃
Me too! Halloween night must watch list:
1. Trick or treat
2. Halloween (original)
3. hocus Pocus as I doze off
I always love how thorough, thoughtful and creative you are with your recommendations. You make content in a way that really prioritizes your audience, which includes always going the extra mile to find something for everyone. Thank you for all that you do! Wishing you, and everyone else a happy and safe Halloween! 🎃
That’s the best compliment thank you!!
Why am I only just finding this channel? Outstanding video.
Her reviews and Cody Leach’s are hands down my favorite. Welcome!
@gregg3744 The Codester is my main amigo, his Horror views, mirror mine, ha.
(It's just a jump to the left... )
I’m planning to watch that sometime today! I’ve been wanting to for years and I’m finally gonna prioritize it
I went to a screening of it last night on Halloween! There was a costume contest and people were doing the audience participation thing, it was so fun! Hadn't seen it in years but I remembered all the songs cause I used to listen to the soundtrack so much as a teen
Ooo yes! My college did an interactive performance of that, so I went to see it for the first time and it was amazing.
My list:
▫️Party With Friends: Blood Fest
▫️Melancholy/Sad: The Babadook
▫️Halloween Nostalgia: Goosebumps
▫️Date Night: Warm Bodies
▫️Double Feature: Cuckoo and Barbarian
Haven't watched Cuckoo yet. Noting Blood Fest and Warm Bodies, thank you!
The Descent! Such a good scary girls night recommendation!
Watched it the other night 1 & 2. The nightcrawlers 🐾
the recommendation of the Substance and Starry Eyes is perfect. two of my favorites as well, and i think the feeling of desperation from the main characters and the lengths they go to to make it in their respective industries and how that industry eats away at them makes it a perfect double feature.

Thanks for dropping this video at the time you did - my Halloween isnt exactly going to plan, so relying on movies is exactly what I need right now. You're the best!
Oh Ginger Snaps! so underrated!

So happy you mentioned Lisa Frankenstein !! It's defo my fav movie from this year and has become an instant comfort movie for me 💖
I just KNOW “I saw the tv glow” is gonna devastate me & change my life i’m waiting for the perfect day to watch it
Incident in a Ghostland was THE WORST. It's not the faint of heart.
Thanks to you i watched Pulse today (the original version) that you recommend in one of your previous video. I loved it
“You’re Next” for ghouls night in!!
noted, thank you!
Trick or treat , Halloween, and house of a 1000 corpse are some of my favorite on Halloween 🎃
For me I’d also put The Love Witch in the Ghouls Night category! Not really scary but so many witchy vibes
To go on the double feature Neon Demon would be a good match with both the Substance and Starry Eyes (I also LOVE Starry eyes)
Watched starry eyes yesterday night haha.
@Zack-dv6rz Iove it! Definitely great Body horror. Check out American Mary if you like body horror
Neon demon, love lies bleeding and the substance would make an insane b2b viewing
i was just binging your videos, and i got the notification for this one. so excited!!
Throw up my candy 🤣🤣🤣 This may very well be my favorite video of yours hahaha
Thank you so much for this list! I have newborn and have limited time for movies, So I picked Hell fest because I hadn’t seen it yet. Absolutely loved it :)
I just watched It's What's Inside and I really loved it. I also love the concept of this.
I always watched horror movies when i was going thru a break-up
"No Entres" (Do not enter) is a paraguayan movie released in 2024. I would recommand it to anyone who is a fan of found footage movies. It's very similar to grave encounters (trapped in an asylum) but is, I would say, at least as scary as grave encounters or even scarier. Seriously, give it a shot.

I use your movie recs all year long! Thanks Sarah!
That timing was just perfect!
Happy Halloween! 🎃

the lodge literally f***ed me up!!! like it left me feeling so disgusting, lonely, and hopeless, it made me sick to my stomach!
i was on STANDBY WAITING for a new video from u🤣
Perfect timing for this video cause I’ve been looking for recommendations lol
Great video Happy Halloween🎃👻🦇
this is the best list ever made
I think Incident in a Ghostland was the scariest film I ever watched in Cinema
Good recommendations and cool video Sarah!👍
Happy Halloween! 🎃
Incident in a ghost land is so underrated
Damn I didn’t realize this notification 😅 I could have used it for Halloween when I was at a loss on what to watch lol no one does horror content like you! 🖤 only con is I don’t have all streaming platforms :( edit: I love love how you’ve always put where to watch the movies under the title 🖤
I always watch Halloween 1, 2, & 3 on Halloween night in reverse order so I can end with the original Halloween. Sleepy Hollow always on Halloween eve.
Oh sweet, I picked Hell Fest for my Halloween night flick. I look forward to it tomorrow!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN 🎃
UGH. I love The Lodge. I do it as a double feature with The Invitation.
You have such a amazing horror taste
Incident in a Ghostland is such a great movie! I’ve watched it twice and I will definitely watch it again sometime. I love Pascal Laugier and it’s so great that he has movies that are (just a tiny bit lighter than Martyrs - though I’ve watched that twice too)

2 Hallooween/Fall movie recs from Sarah in less than a week?!? Ah I’m about to have a good time 🎃🎃
Oddity was so tense, I had to pause it and collect myself lol
Yep, now I want to watch Oddity again! I'm even fine with paying the rental fee for the second time. That is a magnificent movie!!! Thanks for reminding me, Sarah. 😘
ABC's of Horror, Slotherhouse, Lake Mungo, Cabin in the woods, Evil Dead 2013, Drag Me to Hell, Jeepers Creepers pop in me head as well...
OMG, Daddy's Head! I got to see it in theatres and I really liked it. Scary too!
Fastest click I've ever done
Your parents must be proud.
@tleeg74 umm?
Happy Halloween Eve! 🎃 👻 🦇
I feel like you are one of the only people I watch who thoroughly enjoyed Annihilation!!! I will defend that movie with my life but even more so the books, if you haven’t read them I think you’d thoroughly enjoy!! And justice for the Southern Reach trilogy, they deserve to be developed into films too 😢
I’d like to add The Green Inferno to the “throw up my candy” category. Cannibalism and body horror. Eli Roth knows his stuff.
pleaseeee review daddy’s head !!!
I watch "Hell Fest" every Halloween. One of my favorite movies ever.
Girls’ night - Alien?
Sad - I personally found The Sixth Sense very sad and cried watching it, which I do not usually do.
I recommended melancholy with a film like Crimson Peak in mind.
Oddity is terrifying.
For Melancholy I was hoping you would suggest The Night House! As someone who deals with depression and dark thoughts that one had me crying like a baby 🥲
That’s such a good rec for that one too!
Perhaps it’s cliche or super predictable, but I always watch the original Halloween on Halloween. It’s one of my favorite horror films and has the best Halloween vibes in my opinion. You’ll feel better if you stop being so leftist
17:11 my general rule for horror films is DO EAT ANYTHING because there will likely be blood, gore, poo, etc.
(also dont eat while watching most comedies because there is a chance of gross out "humor")
I love Dead Alive. Who would have imagined Peter Jackson would direct Lord of the Rings later in his career.
Also, "The substance" would make an amazing double feature with "Helter Skelter" (2012).
Thank you !!
I was planning on rewatching Audition on Halloween, just got a craving for it, but I might have to pivot so I can rewatch The Substance with some friends who haven't seen it yet!
You need to watch P2. It’s my favorite movie of all time.
Session 9 is a good watch
Oh my gosh… session 9. That movie bothered me so much. I remember we were having dinner while watching it and I couldn’t finish my burger. The movie is not even scary but it is disturbing. I couldn’t eat the rest of the day 😫🤪😅.
I saw Lisa Frankinstine with a friend and we were the only ones in the theater so we a lotta fun
The Lodge is the most "fuck them kids" movie of all time.
Such a heartbreaking, bleak horror film.
Speak No Evil the original for Melancholy. I've never felt more depressed after watching a film
Was Halloween III: Season of the Witch on the list? It literally takes place on Halloween!
My favorite movie to watch on Halloween is the first Halloween that came out in 1978.
lol, jump scares with poop ..... cannot believe you said this , hilarious
I can’t believe the movie did THAT
ID also recomend "Villans" for date night movie
For date night: Bones and all! 🖤
My bf and I watch Trick r Treat every Halloween Night
Pumpkin Head scared me as a kid
i rewatched Night Of The Demons (88) on halloween to see if it still hated it. i did.
I'm planning to watch four films, so here is my list:
1. Nosferatu the Vampyre 1979
2. Cat People 1942
3. Basket Case 1982
4. Night of the Living Dead 1968
yeah i think mubi is especially expensive because it’s an indie production company 😭😭 but idk bc so is screambox and that’s like $6

Tonight I’m watching Haunt (2019) & House of Wax (2005) 🎃😊
For melancholy/sad: The Girl Next Door (2007), a true story about the tragic murder and torture of Sylvia Likens, WARNING: There are triggers (SA), but this is a heart wrenching story

Happy Halloween! 👻 Btw Halloween-themed movie nights end on December 1st. 🎃
Hey! What's your thoughts on the Netflix movie, Don't Move? I personally really liked it
Just wasched "Time Cut" and it was p good! v good rec for nostolgic horror. they go back in time in 2004. as a millinial this hilt the feels. p decent soundtrack too
Have you seen Mr. Crocket? It's set early 2000's and it's weird but an interesting watch
