    This is such a silly thing to notice, but Hyundai slowed down the tempo (BPM) of the turn signals in this car, despite keeping the same Hyundai/Kia sound used in all their other cars. The fact that they went as far as to make the turn signal speed more leisurely and relaxing shows how far into detail they went with this car.

    @14:56. I think this is the place where the video cut was made. The Genesis 'Loving Till Daylight' (LTD) mode was accidentally engaged and:
    1) Sunroof closed
    2) Lighting changed to flesh tone optimized mode
    3) Privacy curtains raised
    4) Massage chairs engaged
    5) Front seats fully reclined
    6) Perfume started wafting in the cabin
    7) Media screen changed to X-certificate content
    Two blokes (Topher 1 & Topher 2) both reached to change the mode at the same time Great review guys.

    To be honest, this may not be the most luxurious car, but having a functional interior that is intuitive, and gimmick-free is worth noting.
    Very much reminds me of Bentley and Rolls Royce. The technology of the Mercedes and BMWs is impressive, but what sells these cars is the craftsmanship. Eventually, every car will have the technology that the Germans have and putting a screen with no buttons will make a car dull and another consumer gadget.

    @RS3NDIT 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +15

    Honestly, even as an Audi guy, if I was actually in the market for a big executive sedan (which I'm not, quite the opposite really), I might actually take this over an A8. Not a fan of the new gen Audi interiors with all the gloss black and touchscreens - I LOVE this genesis interior with all the brushed metals, leathers, and wood - I'd opt for the wood over the forged carbon in the other one you drove for SURE. I grew up with a 2006 A6 that had these beautiful wood inlays all over the interior and really miss that in modern cars...just not the way Mercedes does it lol.
    The 7 series is definitely cool and I'd probably take that over an A8 as well, but god, this thing just undercuts it in price like crazy.
    What a cool car. The caramel latte colored leather really just looks so nice.

    • @RS3NDIT
      @RS3NDIT 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@user-mn2ju7tv8f regardless of what people can and can't afford, I just think brand loyalty is one of the stupidest things to exist in 2024. There are VERY few TRUE mass-market brands out there in any market that care about their consumers more than their profit margins - that is simply the reality of running a business, and I don't necessarily hold that against them.
      I drive my RS3 because it's simple and it does what I want and it has what I need,
      (although I would definitely love some ventilated seats- that's something that any car has yet to match my old challenger in. Those vented seats are absolutely monstrous at keeping you cool)\\
      but if I had to replace it right now I'm sad to say that I don't think I would choose another Audi if I had to buy something from the B9.5 generation. B9 (meaning for the most part, 2018 or earlier) is where Audi's interior design peaked IMO. BMW is now the king of the three germans when it comes to interiors, and when it comes to that as a factor plus their undeniable capability both as daily drivers and as track cars, it's hard to pass them up, even if they are kinda ugly.
      And then you have these new players like Hyundai and Genesis absolutely tearing up their respective segments, giving you all these things standard or for cheap that you have to pay out the nose for when it comes to their german counterparts. Just proof that proper competition really IS good for the market. Say what you want about engine unreliability, dealerships, etc., hyundai and genesis have made MASSIVE steps forward in the last few years.
      This whole essay of a youtube comment to say that I'll never bash anyone else for their preferences, regardless of their reason. I don't believe in that because it creates unnecessary conflict. But I really like what I'm seeing from a lot of manufacturers who I wouldn't have given a second thought to a few years ago and I for one, think the car world is headed to a great place even with the advent of EV's.

You know should make a car to compete with these guys is Infiniti. They should make a luxurious saloon limo like these cars, and focus on luxury yet also sportiness. Could only imagine how cool a large luxury Infinity would be with the R35 engine. 😱 Call it the Infiniti Q90, 575HP, VR40 (R35 engine with a 4.0 displacement), AWD, ZF 8-speed (no DCT)...

    The G90 sits exactly under the German brands, next to the Lexus LS, and the Volvo S90. They specialize in luxury, whereas the German brands add a spice of sportiness. It kind of makes sense to me now. I wrote a comment earlier (deleted) about how this and the MDX Type S Ultra are missing that Sportiness and horsepower to be compared to the German brands, but they are just not in the same league. The MDX Type S Ultra brand new is priced about the same as a 2 yr old X5M, but you can't compare the two. Comparing a bran focused on comfort and luxury, and sportiness as a last resort, whereas BMW, Mercedes, and Audi has sportiness as their second or third priority. Which explains why the S Class and 7 Series are always 20-50k more than the G90, S90, and LS. They add better suspension, handling, beefier stuff, higher performing engines and tuning, the software, so on and so fort, all while remaining innovative in tech and design to adapt to newer eras. The G90 is priced just right.

    Before this every Genesis (or Kia/Hyundai) Model had just the 'Instructions' in the Cluster but not a full map.
    I think that is a huge Benefit for the Cluster, because in Kia/Hyundai/Genesis Models the Digital Cluster always felt a bit... 'Boring'. You couldn't configure much, couldn't switch stuff, etc. - Just a few designs and thats it.
    I drive a 2023 Kia Ceed (European Hatchback). - And I wish it would get the Cluster-Map via an Update, but I doubt that'll happen, especially with the 'Old' Gen5W Navigation, System. - Could be exclusive for the ccNC.

      I totally agree. The future of luxury is definitely going electric. A G90 is a luxury car, not a sports car. People don't care for the constant engine sound while driving.

  • @SamLed1111

    A family member has a 2020 G90. Beautiful car on the "surface" when new. However all of the "surface" luxury does not age well. Much worse than a comparable Merc or Bimmer, IMHO. The plastic around the leather seating is starting to separate from the seat as well as the leather door grab on the driver side. The tan leather color "treatment" is beginning to discolor on both passenger driver side after only a couple years. His A/C compressor crapped out at 35k miles. Weird clicking noises coming from the front end (CV axle) at 39k. And despite it's luxury appontments and surface luxury touches the switches still feel cheap to the touch and not the same level of tactile feel as Audi, Lexus, Merc, or Bimmer. Does the competition have problems? Sure. But at this price point you would expect more solidity. The ride feels much floatier (and less connected to the road) and less solid than comparable luxo barges in this class. Doesn't feel as luxurious or of bespoke quality as a comparably priced German or Japanese luxo barge. All of this car's "gimmicks" don't add up to the sum of it's parts. And after a couple of years the ride quality deteriorates. Just my families' experience. This car is worth $70k the most new. Hyundai has come a long way since the 80s. Yet this G90 is not on the same level as the German or Japanese competitors. It's just not. You don't get the same driving solidity or satisfaction from this car as it's German or Japanese competitors, IMHO. And don't get me started about the dealer or service experience compared to Lexus. This is one of the major pain points of the "Genesis experience." Drive one for yourself and form your own opinion. This is just mine.

      Genesis and other manufacturers wanted to ensure wireless data security/privacy was fool-proof before adopting. It is currently available in some Hyundai/KIA/Genesis models but it appears adoption is impacted by the head unit and bluetooth drivers installed. These vehicles are sold globally and EU GDPR regulation must be met. Google: 'Connected vehicles and the GDPR'. If the car has external connectivity, your information on your mobile phone may NOT be secure when used wirelessly in the vehicle.

    Lovely car. Great interior and exterior. Unfortunately, that engine sounds like crap. Genesis should have tried adding a V8 in this car. Most S class and 7 series sales are their V8 models. I used to see lots on LS and a few G90s on the road. Now I rarely see any LS and only 1 G90. I think the lack of V8s might be stunting their sales. Buyers in the category have the cash to burn. Give them luxury not necessacity.
