    Stoked to see some supermoto content, that track looks like a lot of fun with the elevation and camber changes. Next time you go to the kart track you might try banging the gears down without the clutch. The slipper clutch can handle it and it'll be smoother. Also, the slicks have dimples in them that you can use to measure wear. I use a lot of take offs from the faster guys and unless the profile of the tire is concave they're probably fine. Also if you haven't already replaced the stock clutch slave cylinder I'd do that asap as I saw several fail last season.

    The comment about feeling like you're flying while you're riding and then the footage looking like you're standing still is so true. I've been smashing my pit bike around this track I built my backyard and when I looked at the footage it was comical how slow I was going. On the bike you feel like you're on the razor's edge. Small bikes are so much fun

    I bought my first 690 SMC in 2011 and rode it all around Europe and three times on the Nürburgring. It's got 93.000 km on the clock now. And because it's so good, I just bought another 2020 690 SMC R with just 4500 km that my wife can ride as well, since it's got a lower seat height. I've also done indoor Supermoto on a Kart track twice. Supermoto all day long for me.

    Bro, don't let the internet scare you too much about 450 reliability issues.
    At 800 hrs my KTM cylinder is still rocking it's original coating and only on its second piston/rings that went in at around 650 hrs because it was using an annoying amount of oil.

Been to quite a few tracks already and planning on going to many more next season. absolutely love my Aprilia SXV550 supermotard and want to learn to tame the beast more and more.

    at 7:00 in the video ive learned to take the 3 lefts at once, just sliding around the corner and going at it. my mate greg showed me how to tackle it and it really does help. but still take it wider and stay in the same gear through out the three turns and just ride the throttle through out. if anything happens there is space to correct.

    I can recommend you to try sports driving on a Pitbike. Driving is much cheaper, equipment too. The pit bike itself is much more responsive and you learn much faster. Such driving is becoming very popular in Europe (or at least in Poland) and is also used on karting tracks.

    As you stated, you don’t gotta hammer the straights, you gotta improve the corners. I’ve DREAMT of taking my WR250 on a track but there are none.
    Try out the sumo in the dirt. You’ll be impressed. Also, you can slide around on the slicks and it teaches you even more. Then you slap on the dirts and just shred.

    Nice video. Supermoto is so much fun. Cheaper than road bikes. More crash durable and not expensive as you think. Tires only wear out quick if you run really soft compounds and are really fast. I had a whole season going 3 to 4x a month and only went through a set of tires. Well 2 sets but i tried golden tyres and didnt like them so went back to a softer tire. I have had good durability from dunlop 250gp tires. Also the motor at 130hrs isnt as big of a concern if it wasnt ridden on the limiter the entire time. I would still rebuild the top but i dont think its moments away from catastrophic.
    I would suggest trying more of a flat try style over an rr style especially since you ride mx. I have always felt more comfortable pushing the bike down under me vs hanging off trying to drag knee. I know fast guys that do both but tighter tracks seem to be easier with a flat track style.
    Good sliders on the axles. Bars. Pegs and on your muffler should prevent any costly damage and crashes generally happen as lowsides when you are going relatively slow.

  • @AnsisCers
    @AnsisCers ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nice one 👍 (suggested by YT :D)
    My first time on tarmac track was also with husq 450 supermoto. Looking back I'd say its quite a nice way to start, very forgiving platform, easy to ride. At that time I though nah this probably isn't for me, all the maintenances etc I rather go 4cyl road bike road. (yeah silly me) Now when I have few years of riding road bikes and also racing I can say they can be even more time consuming with maintenances + tires + fuel etc and I kind of miss the simplicity of SM of that time 🤣 I'd like to try SM once more though to see how it goes with new experience.
    My suggestion is a Pitbike with slicks - 160-190cc ones are enough fast plus skills translate both to roadbike and SM with much less expenses (if I remember my rough calculations pitbike training was 10x less expensive than R6 considering all ) tires last a long time and actually pitbikes are more demanding for proper riding technique.

    "supermoto is expensive"
    I mean anything that takes place on a race track is expensive, but its hard to think of a cheaper way to get a lot of track time on two wheels. I think the skills you build on a kart track are way more relevant to street riding than the big tracks, too.
