Fair warning: She describes it for you here. It's got shock value for sure. Also, the part about the mermaid being stuck in a bathtub? What's likely going on there is she's mixing up memories-there's a manga called オレん家のフロ事情 aka _Merman in my Tub._ There's a crossover of details between that and the music video so it's not surprising they got mixed together.

That's because the japanese term "seiso" means "pure from lewdness". You can be the most evil, yandere, mischievous character but if you don't look sexy or perceiving you as sexy seems wrong or acting lewd is awkward and isn't just part of your image, you are seiso. When Marine wakes up in a shared bed after dreaming of getting devoured, nothing needs explained to me.
@@ManusiaKagakRusuh My interpretation was that the bed scene was kinda like a dream similar to the white lights some see at the end of their life, since it had a white-ish effect over it and we see Gura swim off in the distance later. And Marine bringing up those dark stories makes me think that I was right. But I guess we’ll never know what the canon interpretation is lol.
My thoughts when it went from red Gura eating Marine to an immediate cut to them together in bed was like "Oh so it went down like THAT"

Maybe it's intentionally ambiguous, but it sure looks to me like Gura ate Marine, maybe so they could "be together forever."
Then there's the other type of 'eating' which gets a little implied by the two in bed immediately following. ...but I'll leave it at that.
Considering Marine's treasured Ship-in-a-bottle was floating alone in the sea? It's sadly true that Marine ultimately dies by getting nommed by Gura.

I believe she did literally eat Marine. It's pretty much confirmed by what she's saying in this clip. The scene with Marine and Red Gura naked in bed is a reference to a common trope in anime, where the purest essence of a person is naked in a metaphysical or surreal landscape. This usually represents something like their spirit, psyche or mind. When they're with another person this is a symbolic representation of vulnerability, direct mental contact, or a stripping away of social and psychological barriers. Basically, she was literally eaten and her mind and spirit are mentally connected with Red Gura (who exists within Blue Gura).
At least that's what I think.
@@latemanparodius5133 You are aware that idea (eating = oral sex) only exists in English slang. In Japanese it's クンニ (Kunni for cunnilingus) or マンコ舐め (Vagina Licking). Since those terms aren't about eating, and everyone (besides Gura) is Japanese. I'm going to have to say this is not very likely.

I totally get this. If you ask me who's the best singers, Suisei, Moona, Nerissa, etc. But Gura is my favorite to listen to. Idk how to put it other than, her singing voice carries her personality.
i've seen a lot of people say this and i agree. from a technical level several singers are more capable than gura, but gura is the one i most enjoy listening to sing
Many are more technical but none make me feel as much.
I thinks it's because you can hear just how much fun she has singing. Add to that a very pleasant singing voice, good technique and a dash of cheekyness and it's always an experience.
gura wears her heart on her sleeve when she starts singing. you can just feel all the emotions and her ad libs are also great.

Gura is probably hands down the most "talented". If she has a weakness its that she has a cuter voice and not a powerful voice. Otherwise I don't know why she isn't talked about more when discussing the top singers. Something that always blows me away is when you listen to some of the slowed down clips of her live karaoke streams and its .....its fucking perfect. Flawless even. Professionals usually can't do that.

If you can also make some clips about his thoughts of her last 3d live (4th aniversary) i will be forever grateful to you. Senchou is really a genius artist, its crazy how she can convey his ideas so clearly in anything she does. ( sorry if i make mistakes, english is not my native language)

1:25 Natsumi Step is a flash animation from the 2000s where a girl goes on a ride meeting mascot characters of 2channel to an upbeat remix of "I've Been Working on the Railroad", but closer inspection reveals that all is not as it seems. 1:57~ Apparently the bathtub mermaid is a whole trope in itself and there are, so, many, instances of this trope in modern media. I haven't been able to find the exact music video Marine refers to here, so if you think you know what she's talking about here, please let me know.
Loved it. Whether the bed scene itself was the whole thing that shocked the room or if she wanted to imply something darker, the ambiguity of the ending allows a lot of theories to work that putting a canon on would just take away from the art of it. Once out of the artist's hands, the viewer may interpret it in ways they find meaningful, and even make the creator look at things from a new point of view. At that point, it's easier to just let people enjoy it their own way then telling them how to do so.
The only song i can think of that deals with a Mermaid is Mermaid Rhapsody by Sekai No Owari.
Edit: Ok, so, that's definitely NOT it.
I think that song is "tasogare havmand" by Haru Uchida. The mermaid who appears is a boy, but there is a depiction of the mermaid's leg being cut in two.

I agree with Marine, Gura is my favorite singing voice in all of Hololive. She has a very soothing singing voice, and I can't really explain it. I love how cute and funny Gura is, but above all else, I just want to listen to her sing more. I listen to AI covers, but it's not the same. I want more chill Gura karaokes and songs.
I have a feeling that Gura's taking a break from streaming because she wants to focus on really improving her singing. She had mentioned it before and her latest karaoke stream was really a big improvement over her already strong voice. I'm really looking forward to what she wants to do next.

I used to think she was overrated, but on second thought it's just that she's not my favourite (strictly personal opinion), as much as I'll give her credit for the quality MV with Marine.
I love hearing her thought process, and she is so good at explaining clearly. It's reassuring to know the huh moment was exactly intended.... And knowing marine I had some thoughts in the back of my head that she might have been aiming for that😅
I really respect Senchou for this. She's got a cute and super interesting voice, but her ability to explain things so clearly and make it entertaining to listen to at the same time is definitely special. She's got maxed out communication skills. I guess that's to be expected, in order to direct an MV as cool as that, you'd need to be able to get your idea across to so many different people. That's a genuine talent.

I can't really describe it well but Gura's voice just sounds really good in that song (as well as Marine, of course.) Hearing about her love for cute animations and things that turn dark and how happy she talked and giggled while mentioning the disturbing mermaid story made me wonder. If Marine could speak English really well that she would probably love Mumei and her whole vibe. From cute things turning dark to having quite the same vocal range as Gura some of the time(Although I have to admit that Gura and Mooms do have diff singing voices)

Well, I for sure gave the reaction Marine was expecting because at the start of the MV I was like, "Aw how cute they're bff's." But by the end of the MV my reaction slowly changed to "wtf was that?" because I did not expect the lewd hand holding and the fact Marine woke up in bed beside Gura. At the same time also being nostalgic with that 80's vibe.
Ah, I knew from how Marine was and the heart eyes that she was desperately attracted to Gura from the first glance. A happy, adorable summer/short fling that the song reminisces on and wished didn't end. Felt like Marine at the end thought it wasn't quite as reciprocated (emotionally) until she got 'eaten' by Gura, as I took the bed handholding and the light shift in it to show Marine taking the 'lead' into that portion. Gura, right before she was about to leave, being able to reciprocate and lead it herself seemed to make it a happier moment for Marine, as it showed to her that Gura was just as invested into it as she was. Short or not, it was wonderful for both, which is why I think it turns nostalgic and happier towards the end.
Edit: Of course, this is sort of the 'romanticized' ending I guess, as some people kinda rightly pointed out that the mermaid MV she described would make it that Gura ACTUALLY ate her. Which...I can see that as well very plainly now too.

Has Lamy being too hung over to forget that Goobs isn't pure. She goes commando and from time to time talk about not so pure stuff. Even if she can't understand what Goobs is saying she can easily find clips with Japanese subtitles to figure out what she's saying or ask PolPol when watch a shit ton of HoloEN clips during her down time.
I think for the most part, whatever clips the jp girls see of Gura is just regarding her cuteness.

1:23 I get what Marine is saying, to be honest, and I know saying this is quite taboo in the grand scheme of things, but going along with what marine is talking about, when I was watching the mv, I honestly really thought this was like a send off music video and Gura was like going to graduate or something lol. It had that bittersweet feeling of having fun with Gura and sending her off, it really scared me lol, but i'm glad that was not the case and that was me reading WAY too much into it, but she really nailed that feeling.

Marine is so right at the end. I really dont like when artists are explaining their art. And I feel like the art itself should be able to say what it is the artist is trying to communicate/tell. Or at least put the audience in the right direction.
Naw, I love it when the artist gives the low down on all the easter eggs and details they included. Director commentary, for example, is so fun to watch.

But what I meant was like you watch a movie and then you watch an interview with the director who tells you exactly what the ending means. Or you listen to an album and then the artist tells you what the purpous and feeling it's supposed to bring.
I suppose the mystery vanishes, but at the same time I would prefer that over people straight up misunderstanding a work.

It sounds to me Marine thought the message was clear/obvious, but then she saw people making different interpretations and theories and didn't want to take that away from them. I'd personally love for her to explain what she intended for the message to be but I understand she doesn't want to take away the fun from the theories.
