So after 5k hours in retail,I logged on to the beta and is it me or does the game look prettier than it alreadu was? The starting zone was gorgeous and the starting outfits are dope. I hope I can make a new character just to get the transmog for the ranger outfit. AND THE SWIMMING I was pleasantly surprised when my character hit the water and I like the new jumping animation as well. I hope the game comes back to life.
Console player here. Super casual player as I don’t have a lot of game time but that said, I’ve managed to play the Open Beta and I’m loving the hell out of it. I’m only on level 15 at the moment but it’s been a really fun experience.

BASICALLY! New World Aeternum is New World Base Game + Rise of the angry earth expansion and with a tweaks with cutscenes, improved quality of life stuff and available on the console and pc open beta currently on xbox ps and pc

I don’t care what all the haters say. I played New World since it came out on PC. Prior to that I played WoW since 2004. I’ve been trying WoW again this last week and New World Combat and movement absolutely destroys WoW or any tab target based games.
Let’s not forget that when Rise of the Angry Earth was released, many players were bugged and couldn’t progress through the MSQ before entering the new zone, which made impossible to start the expansion content. Some players had this problem for a whole month. This was due to the MSQ adjustments they made and Azoth Staff T5 I guess New World dev team as always deploying with many game BREAKING bugs. I was affected by this, btw.
I loved New World . The atmosphere game play and music were soooooo good . Only reason i left was the fact that every update felt like it was 40 -50 GB every update . I updated more then i was playing it . I hated walking away from it .
New world aeternum mixed with skull and bones would be absolutely epic. I was able to make it to lvl18 on beta and absolutely loved it but was missing the skull and bones experience from playing it. It’s basically assassins creed imo. Got the origins vibe with the leveled weapons
Journalism site there’s absolutely no actual journalist left in the world, except the occasional TH-camr, who actually went and looked at the corporate docs list to see how many copies they sold are there information and another exposure price so if somebody wanted to look it up, they could look it up, but that would take actual work said they just guess

Basically at worst it's a massive patch/update, at best it's the lightest DLC ever Holy crap, it took 10 minutes and 22 seconds into the video for him to even start talking about what we clicked on the video for. Christ I've never heard such a long winded, unneeded explanation of New World's birth up until now. People come to this video to find out more about Aeternum because we already play the base game or already know generally about New World and what the official website says what's new in depth...
If the game is going to survive, it needs to improve the server experience. I stopped playing the game because it was empty on PC, you play an MMO to live in an active world with a bunch of other people. I’m assuming the guild system and how they control territories is a major road block to just loading in people into shared servers (as most other MMOs do now). Really hoping there’s some change here, or there’s a plan for consistent updates that keep people logging in. The empty servers are absolutely the major problem with the existing game that keeps people from jumping back in.

It’s the same with film making the goal is to make it on the “Big screen” big is the cinema for the big bucks For gaming the “Big screen” is console casual gamers is the big bucks in other words.. end gold is having the game on all platforms! Only exception is if said game niche such as gacha games and mobile games as accessibly are their end goal.
So much potential thrown away by terrible mismanagement and content drier than gandi's flipflop. People playing this still might genuinely have stockholm syndrome. If this IP were in the hands of a more capable studio it would retain a playerbase in the hundreds of thousands
I fell for it. I logged in and after about 20 minutes I was like there is nothing different. That says something, I see the potential of this game and I loved to play it, but there is just nothing there. The trade system is completely flawed - endless hours or farming mats and cool downs to make gear no one wants. No real end game. Ridiculous loot system - who wants to loot hundreds of items only to destroy it? Who ever thought anyone would want to do that day after day? Expansions that you literally beat the first day. Of course if you do not beat it in the first couple of days its impossible for a solo person to do it. Why not have a trade system that creates an item you want after months of farming? Why not build an equipment progression system that you work through as a player in tiers with clear equipment upgrades that make a difference (like Everquest or Wow does).
I also want to add, the economy assumes there are new players leveling, but there aren't any. There is no reason to make alts other than to exploit cooldowns, which just means you can try and craft equipment faster, but it still results in useless garbage most of the time no one wants to use or buy.
True about the economy, as in NW one character can use all weapons therefor play all roles in the game so no need to keep rolling new alts like in other mmo's

For those of you console players coming to new world for the first time, PLEASE understand that the new world playerbase is the most entitled, toxic, and spiteful community out there. The dev team has done their absolute best to give us a good, fun game despite all the problems that comes with their AGS overlords. That’s not what that number means that is the total number of people locked into the game VSP during the highest peak and current hour meeting whatever hour of the last 24 that was that is how many people were locked in. Doesn’t matter what time zone your end or what part of the world that was the highest number. The game is dead. Anybody who refuses to accept that is just deluding themselves that number, highest peak current number being sent within the last 24 hours that was the highest number of logged in users in the peak. It doesn’t have shit to do with time zone or where people are logging in for that the total that were logged in during that highest peak hour, so during this 7000 during that hour, this would be the one that was and it doesn’t matter where they’re logging in from or what time it is what time of day it is for them all that matters is they were locked in at the same time as the other 7000 people or whatever and obviously for games that are on multiple platforms that number doesn’t really mean shit it won’t shit this releases and PC that number might not go up because a lot of those PC users I feel certain are going to be skeptical. Why you may see a lot of console users I mean you might have seen a lot of console users playing it, but that would presume that they are playing on liberty is free and coming out first.

We know exactly what that number be and try stop trying to make it seem better than it did a game with a high peak concert our 45 or 6000 is that that’s it that’s a dead game especially if it’s an open world MMO Had servers all over the world at least three servers just for North America. There’s only 6000 people playing the game on Steve and even if they’re just spread across North America that’s barely enough to keep the servers alive. Give it that you need numbers for things like that, the town what do you call him, the talent you have taking over town to pick up part of the guild otherwise you won’t be able to use the restart. The servers may bring people with the castle have doubts. Give us the fact that the liver are coming out at least 1520 days before it starts and liberty will be free, there that you buy out for 4670 $80. I forget what they cost. Tried it on console, its shit. Played over 1000 hrs on pc years ago when it first came out. I'd say do not buy not worth it, money grab that's all it is. So it is a scam to get money from console players, hopefully console players don't fall for this.

havent played either "versions" of the game yet so im a little confused on this aspect: if im correct, the original new world and the "newer' new world being aeternum are the same game? meaning if i load in to both games at lvl 1 ill be going through the same progression?
Let’s put this in perspective, elder scrolls online never exceed 50 K in their highest per hour ever hunt there currently 9.8 K playing Elder scroll online. conversely, the world had over 900 K playing at their highest current hour he has only 5.3 K playing right now. Wild difference is the color to find the difference between what is a good game that has retained much higher amount of its players . Let’s also keep in mind that ESO is launch on numerous platforms for PS five at one plus in a couple of different places blacklist now because I think that they gone to Steve 9.8 playing it at Steve probably at least more playing it in very other location, this is example of a good game versus New World, which clearly is demonstrated why lack of popularity that it’s a bad thing maybe they fix everything I’d like to think so cause I had high hopes to be like this game had Todd of potential

@@CeeNZ_ hey 👋 I'm just saying for most console players this is brand new. With that being said the game is definitely better than when it came out. This is a decent game for someone that has not put 1-4k hrs into it and they have a tone of content for the console player. They lied to PC players making things seem like they had a big thing planned for them and I think that was kinda bad honestly but this will be the PC players experience and for the console players that did not touch the PC version it will only be complaining of an upset person that has nothing to do with them or their experience. I played PC by the way and left before the expansion came out with mounts and stuff. I got both sides I was pissed on PC side of it. I also tried console open beta and can say this game feels good looks good and played like it is a complete package now so I'm sure console players are going to love it for a long time
I guess they're having to do it this way to get the reviewers to re-review, so that it gets the ratings for its current state rather than the stigma of its past. But it does look like they should have addressed more of the current players issues with end game loop etc.
They completely ignored PC player base weeks after they released the paid expansion last October. But yeah, marketing wise it makes complete sense to try and re brand the game.
@@CeeNZ_ alpha, beta, then launch. Daily grind, dungeons, OPR, chest runs (faction PvP or PvE). Later I began to appreciate 3v3 and influence races, as well as random PvP skirmishes protecting mission runners from predatory companies (usually green). Then I realized it was consuming me and my family life was taking a hit. Dropped it cold turkey 7 months ago, and only occasionally do I think about revisiting, but quickly remind myself that any game I can't pause shouldn't remain in rotation.
I played the console beta like what I seen although was unaware that it was a old game still thinking of pre-ordering it me and my kid had a lot of fun with it

I have been playing NW on and off since original beta and I so so so want this game to succeed and pop into the top 10 or even top 5 mmos. It HAS that potential. I hope this is stepping in a better direction. Really hope. Maybe work on some better management, but here is to hoping.
I jumped into the Beta knowing absolutely nothing about the "update",i vaguely heard of "Aeternum" being added to the game name weeks or months ago (i stopped playing last November) and after 1 and a half hour i was like "ok,so what's actually new?" - More haircut options (XD) - Swimming (XD) - New cutscenes (who actually cares) - New HUD (its aight but i will not come back for that) - Intro quests slightly tweaked (...) - Lock-on target mode (have fun balancing that) and.. that's it ? i had to stop at level 10 because i got PTSD from doing those 1 - 60 unbearable quests twice already might aswell call it New World : Console Update i almost feel like we've been used as beta testers for the past 3 years
yep like I say in the vid several times :P ITS THE SAME GAME :D few tweaks here and there as its a new patch on the game Coming October 15th but yeah its the same, however on the 1-60 levelling, IMO this is 100% better compared to the 2021 launch, its a really good experience tbh

Cant believe all the great gear that come with Rise of the angry earth will stay 700GS its day light robbery for the people that paid now if you want the new 725 gear you will have to play the same 2 raids over n over or the PVP zone making all the dungeons not even worth playing it jus laziness i dont play raids or pvp and for the pvp players its took them 3 years to add new PVP content and when they do everyone's gear is basically useless on day one its a total shit show if you ask me.
Exactly like all the multiple gear sets that were warded for different dungeons that took a hell of a lot of grinding/crafting. All made redundant by the DLC. Welcome to vertical progression. One of the many reasons I moved to Guild Wars 2. The best gear from 10 years ago is still the best.

I loved this game so much when it came out, it grew stale but I still defended it. I've been keeping low since SGF and also confused about what was going on. Thanks for the vid...I just wish they would do more because this game could be a gold mine.
Same here, I would love nothing more that a dev vid on or before October 15th with the roadmap for the next year but which also includes big content updates and end game reworks that comes later this year and not like 5-6 months after october 15th

So its just an extra 8 minutes of new and nice cut scene at the beginning with smoothed out gameplay for the story grind and gear grind. The story is also pretty much the same.... we need a new expansion after this crud comes out and the console players are caught up otherwise this game is dead.

The only content I really want is performance overhauls. This game is so choppy even on a fast m.2 ssd. The baseline experience isn't so bad if that is fixed. Then, I would pay for more content. If they can't fix performance though... I mean sure ill check out the free updates but I am not staying or pulling out my wallet.
I have about 1600 hours in the game. It got stale and was dead. The reboot feels pretty good. I been playing over the weekend. I’ll jump back in next month.
i was able to play this with my playstation friends for the first time this weekend and they absolutely love it. cant wait to start playing with them in october. we need something else to play, destiny 2 is stale and world of warcraft is still pc only

Yes and no, you can play all the way to end game solo but you will not be able to do the dungeons due to needing other players to accomplish them. If you want to level, grind gathering and crafting, you'll have fun

@@nick_coles_art you can run dungeons with randoms as they do have a group finder. Then bounce once complete, no guild or “company” needed which is what guilds are called in NW. However, you’re not likely to complete the more difficult dungeons with randoms. They have normals and mutated. Mut 1 - Mut 10. Really about Mut 6 and up you’ll want ppl you regularly play with unless you want to slog your way through it with a lot of deaths

I'd ignore that tbh, devs stated back on controller launch earlier this year that auto lock will not be enabled in PvP, this is either just a mistake for the beta or one last chance getting player feedback on it

Anybody who refuses to accept that is just deluding themselves that number, highest peak current number being sent within the last 24 hours that was the highest number of logged in users in the peak. It doesn’t have shit to do with time zone or where people are logging in for that the total that were logged in during that highest peak hour, so during this 7000 during that hour, this would be the one that was and it doesn’t matter where they’re logging in from or what time it is what time of day it is for them all that matters is they were locked in at the same time as the other 7000 people or whatever and obviously for games that are on multiple platforms that number doesn’t really mean shit it won’t shit this releases and PC that number might not go up because a lot of those PC users I feel certain are going to be skeptical. Why you may see a lot of console users I mean you might have seen a lot of console users playing it, but that would presume that they are playing on liberty is free and coming out first.

The most populated hour of the day had 4000 people playing it. We’re quite clear quit talking to us like we’re stupid. We know exactly what that number be and try stop trying to make it seem better than it did a game with a high peak concert our 45 or 6000 is that that’s it that’s a dead game especially if it’s an open world MMO Had servers all over the world at least three servers just for North America. There’s only 6000 people playing the game on Steve and even if they’re just spread across North America that’s barely enough to keep the servers alive. Give it that you need numbers for things like that, the town what do you call him, the talent you have taking over town to pick up part of the guild otherwise you won’t be able to use the restart. The servers may bring people with the castle have doubts. Give us the fact that the liver are coming out at least 1520 days before it starts and liberty will be free, there that you buy out for 4670 $80. I forget what they cost. It’s 40 bucks for standard fuck you all when you thing you buy those you can just wait it’ll be free. You’ll be in the free play category Xbox and PlayStation that works out coming out first what do you think that’s gonna do the chances For New World

Played over 1000 hrs on pc years ago when it first came out. I'd say do not buy not worth it, money grab that's all it is. So it is a scam to get money from console players, hopefully console players don't fall for this.

havent played either "versions" of the game yet so im a little confused on this aspect: if im correct, the original new world and the "newer' new world being aeternum are the same game? meaning if i load in to both games at lvl 1 ill be going through the same progression?
Let’s put this in perspective, elder scrolls online never exceed 50 K in their highest per hour ever hunt there currently 9.8 K playing Elder scroll online. conversely, the world had over 900 K playing at their highest current hour he has only 5.3 K playing right now. Wild difference is the color to find the difference between what is a good game that has retained much higher amount of its players .

I'm just saying for most console players this is brand new. With that being said the game is definitely better than when it came out. This is a decent game for someone that has not put 1-4k hrs into it and they have a tone of content for the console player. They lied to PC players making things seem like they had a big thing planned for them and I think that was kinda bad honestly but this will be the PC players experience and for the console players that did not touch the PC version it will only be complaining of an upset person that has nothing to do with them or their experience. I played PC by the way and left before the expansion came out with mounts and stuff. I got both sides I was pissed on PC side of it. I also tried console open beta and can say this game feels good looks good and played like it is a complete package now so I'm sure console players are going to love it for a long time

I guess they're having to do it this way to get the reviewers to re-review, so that it gets the ratings for its current state rather than the stigma of its past. But it does look like they should have addressed more of the current players issues with end game loop etc.
They completely ignored PC player base weeks after they released the paid expansion last October. But yeah, marketing wise it makes complete sense to try and re brand the game.

@@CeeNZ_ alpha, beta, then launch. Daily grind, dungeons, OPR, chest runs (faction PvP or PvE). Later I began to appreciate 3v3 and influence races, as well as random PvP skirmishes protecting mission runners from predatory companies (usually green).
Then I realized it was consuming me and my family life was taking a hit. Dropped it cold turkey 7 months ago, and only occasionally do I think about revisiting, but quickly remind myself that any game I can't pause shouldn't remain in rotation.
I played the console beta like what I seen although was unaware that it was a old game still thinking of pre-ordering it me and my kid had a lot of fun with it

AGS have confirmed they will do "some" console only servers, xbox only, ps5 only etc, but they have not confirmed how many

I have been playing NW on and off since original beta and I so so so want this game to succeed and pop into the top 10 or even top 5 mmos. It HAS that potential. I hope this is stepping in a better direction. Really hope. Maybe work on some better management, but here is to hoping.
100% NW has the POTENTIAL to be a top 10 or maybe even top 5 MMO, just not the way its been handled / ran over the last 3 years sadly
Console version runs far far better than pc version
I jumped into the Beta knowing absolutely nothing about the "update",i vaguely heard of "Aeternum" being added to the game name weeks or months ago (i stopped playing last November)
and after 1 and a half hour i was like "ok,so what's actually new?"
- More haircut options (XD)
- Swimming (XD)
- New cutscenes (who actually cares)
- New HUD (its aight but i will not come back for that)
- Intro quests slightly tweaked (...)
- Lock-on target mode (have fun balancing that)
and.. that's it ?
i had to stop at level 10 because i got PTSD from doing those 1 - 60 unbearable quests twice already

yep like I say in the vid several times :P ITS THE SAME GAME :D few tweaks here and there as its a new patch on the game Coming October 15th but yeah its the same, however on the 1-60 levelling, IMO this is 100% better compared to the 2021 launch, its a really good experience tbh
@@LiamHYT yeah i agree my second leveling experience was much better than the first one on release but i feel like it still wasn't all that great,especially the last part of the grind,but now with mounts and all the QoL i can see that being again a bit better
Cant believe all the great gear that come with Rise of the angry earth will stay 700GS its day light robbery for the people that paid now if you want the new 725 gear you will have to play the same 2 raids over n over or the PVP zone making all the dungeons not even worth playing it jus laziness i dont play raids or pvp and for the pvp players its took them 3 years to add new PVP content and when they do everyone's gear is basically useless on day one its a total shit show if you ask me.
Exactly like all the multiple gear sets that were warded for different dungeons that took a hell of a lot of grinding/crafting. All made redundant by the DLC. Welcome to vertical progression. One of the many reasons I moved to Guild Wars 2. The best gear from 10 years ago is still the best.

I loved this game so much when it came out, it grew stale but I still defended it. I've been keeping low since SGF and also confused about what was going on. Thanks for the vid...I just wish they would do more because this game could be a gold mine.
Same here, I would love nothing more that a dev vid on or before October 15th with the roadmap for the next year but which also includes big content updates and end game reworks that comes later this year and not like 5-6 months after october 15th

You speak too much and say too little, compromising the minute value of the video. Also, the sound equalization for the microphone isn't very good. Should not conduct an informative video as a podcast.
So its just an extra 8 minutes of new and nice cut scene at the beginning with smoothed out gameplay for the story grind and gear grind. The story is also pretty much the same.... we need a new expansion after this crud comes out and the console players are caught up otherwise this game is dead.

The only content I really want is performance overhauls. This game is so choppy even on a fast m.2 ssd. The baseline experience isn't so bad if that is fixed. Then, I would pay for more content. If they can't fix performance though... I mean sure ill check out the free updates but I am not staying or pulling out my wallet.

Yes and no, you can play all the way to end game solo but you will not be able to do the dungeons due to needing other players to accomplish them. If you want to level, grind gathering and crafting, you'll have fun
@Legendairy2 ok cool thankyou. Can you just risk up to people in game to do a dungeon then leave it as that. Or do you have to join a guild or something?
@@nick_coles_art you can run dungeons with randoms as they do have a group finder. Then bounce once complete, no guild or “company” needed which is what guilds are called in NW. However, you’re not likely to complete the more difficult dungeons with randoms. They have normals and mutated. Mut 1 - Mut 10. Really about Mut 6 and up you’ll want ppl you regularly play with unless you want to slog your way through it with a lot of deaths

I'd ignore that tbh, devs stated back on controller launch earlier this year that auto lock will not be enabled in PvP, this is either just a mistake for the beta or one last chance getting player feedback on it
