    Hello again David. Happy New year to you. I have now had a chance to look through some of your videos. I can tell you now, you've already made my planned projects for this year so much easier starting with this Clarke structure. Thank you very much. I wish you excellent health and happiness and please, keep making your awesome videos.

    I’ve got a Clarke tent and it’s saved my classic car from several winters.
    Be aware the cover rots from UV and after 4 years I needed to replace it. Note, Machine Mart/Clarke will sell you a replacement cover for around half the cost of a new tent.
    All in all a great piece of kit.

    That’s such a good design! ( the mistake most people make with car covers is laying the canvas against the bodywork which just holds water which accelerates the rust really quickly.

    Hi, great ,that's what I am thinking of getting. Good info and has made my mind up. How is it holding up in these current storms?

    • @InTheWorkshop
      @InTheWorkshop  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It has survived both of the storms, I do have a ratchet strap inside the centre of the doorway fixed to a thick rubber belt going over the apex of the frame which I ratchet down to a loop fixed in to some thick slabs. This is inline with the doorway legs so any force I create when doing the strap up will go down the legs and not bending any of the ridge tubes. Don't know if this has helped make it survive but it made me feel better 🙂👍

  • @garethnorwood2084
    @garethnorwood2084 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi, how do the ratchet straps work. As I am putting mine on a concrete base so won't have the pegs.

    • @InTheWorkshop
      @InTheWorkshop  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You will need to screw/bolt down to the concrete

    • @InTheWorkshop
      @InTheWorkshop  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The ratchet straps that come with it just tighten the end tarpaulins/covers.

    Hi how is this holding up?
    Cant decide between this or shelterlogic 10x15.
    Also the lack of ventilation puts me off slightly. What are your thoughts on this
    Cheers

    • @InTheWorkshop
      @InTheWorkshop  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's holding up well, I think the ratchet strap and rubber loop I have holding it down is stopping high winds from causing any damage. Also the large ground sheet I have on the floor stops any condensation 👍

    Hi David thinking of buying one of these so great to see how it was erected. How is it now? has there been any issues over the winter/summer. What about the anchors would the corner ones be sufficient > cheers GN

    • @InTheWorkshop
      @InTheWorkshop  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, I did a bit of an update on this in one of my videos but can't remember which. Yeah it's lasting great but I have got a ratchet strap inside holding it down in the centre of the doorway. This is to give it some extra holding down in gales etc. Condensation will form on inside of roof unless you have a solid floor or put a good quality tarpaulin covering the ground.

    Hi david what’s it like on a strong windy day

    • @InTheWorkshop
      @InTheWorkshop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine is okay as I have a ratchet strap permanently going to a rubber belt which is going over the frame at the door end and strapping down to concrete slabs. If I need to get the car or anything wide in I just loosen the strap hook it to the side then reattach it down after I have what I need inside. 🙂👍

  • @TheMrWoodsman

    Great video, I have been told the paint on the tubes rubs off easily and goes rusty with the cover rubbing on them, I would give it a good coat of Hammer right paint and letting it dry before putting the cover on, this could always be done at a later date. Regards

    • @InTheWorkshop
      @InTheWorkshop  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the advice Paul, I have also heard the cover ends up with holes wearing through where it goes over the tubes on the roof.

      Hi Dan, parking my car in it at the moment so I don't have to scrape the ice off the windscreen in the mornings. Going to be good to work on the cars out of wet weather. Get condensation inside, this should be reduced when I slab the floor. Thanks for watching 👍

    I bought the biggest one for my wifes birthday do . 20' x 12'. Bloody brilliant. Took all day to put up . Only just took it down after four months just in case the tree fell on it. Good job I did as when the storm hit the tree fell down ( knew it would.). Bargain. Does anyone want to buy it for £500 ? Bridgend area south wales.
