Some of the main bearings are dry as in set into the casings? As in cant be changed? Ad in need new crancases if bearings are shot? I have another engine that was in my vulcan when i got it. Very loud bottom end noise. I was advized by an old dog get another engine

Niceone man i got some dampers off an old engine i realigned my dmper wieght to the shaft. The punch mark on the shaft is even smaller than the one on the wieght but i found them so yes it does have to be timed to the shaft as well as the flywheel. Now i have no harmonic vibration wrecking the bike. Ive done all the vn750 mods trialled and errored. Im nearly 6 months in n the vulcan now and finally have it going good🤞 it nearly finished me and the missus but worth it now i love the bike😂🎉

Hey David......I am So so impressed that you are building that engine in such a confined and busy area.....When I have done rebuilds I like a clear space with everything laid out!! I have said it before but that is a "LUMP" gee whizz just watching you drop the crank and pistons in looked an effort. Thanks for the video its really great to see and your narration as you go is helpful

My man now that i aligned my balancer gear to the fly wheel properly its put the dampers under pressure they were hard like plastic. Now guess what! I found half of one in the oil screen. I should of waited and ordered them before reasenmly. Anyway do you have a link to a set? Looks like i have to buy each one on ebay and thats going to rack up a cost i rekon too much. How much you pay for the set of dampers for it?

  • @scowlsmcjowls2626

My bolt hd walked out the shaft bit wasnt snapped the rubber dampers were perished and i read it was due to synthethic oil chemicals rotting them. They were rotted and bits show up in the oil screen but now as i have excessive vibration i went back to the fourums and have discovered now its likely my counterbalance wieght is set wrong. Im thinking now tht was the cause of it all as i read some were set wrong in the factory but not enough for a recall. Dealers were comped. I just copied the factory also read haynes manual is wrong the pin is in the wrong hole so i have yet another engine pull to avoid another engine falure like you have there and i had here

New information uncovered. Some of the counter balance wieghts were not fitted right at the factory but not enough for a recall. Dealers were comped type thing. So dont copy the way the counterbalance was originally on. Go to the vn750 fourums. Thats where i get all my info and have to discern them. I have exsessive vibration in my handle bars now and have to pull my engine again to do the counterbalance again its not et right. Haynes and cymore manuals conflicting specs

Hey David, it's been a while since I left a comment on one of your videos. About the bike, some people aren't going to be completely honest about stuff when they are trying to make a quick buck, but then you said that the lady was old and it was her husband bike probably doesn't know to much about motorcycle and really thought it was an oil leak because of what she saw that's why she sold it cheap 800.00 really wasn't a bad price for that, you're right you probably could have gotten one that works for more money but we know you can fix it 😊 so I like to see what you came up with in the next video till then take care....
