While it won’t make your tea eggs taste too obviously smoky, it adds a subtle, woodsy flavor that makes them taste more homey and authentic.
    🍃 Marinate the Eggs Patiently
    This recipe requires you to marinate the eggs over heat for 2 hours, then 1 more day of marination in the fridge. The extra time is worth it! Not only will the tea eggs taste more flavorful. The extra steeping time over heat also brings out the full complexity of flavors from the spices. This results in a rich, cohesive tasting tea egg.
