- The Altschlossfelsen is a massive, 1.5km long sandstone cliff situated southwest of the municipality of Eppenbrunn near the German-French border. It is known for its history of early human settlement, natural beauty, and a unique glowing rock phenomenon. In mid-April, the sun envelops the rocks in a radiant display of warm orange colors. This site offers a window to the past and presents nature's exquisite artwork and envelops the hiker in a mystical aura as they walk along the bizarrely shaped rock walls and beneath the mighty overhangs.
