I don’t agree that you can’t wear it in the summer at all. I wore it in the summer and it worked great. Got a bunch of compliments and it didn’t feel overpowering at all. Haltane is an all year rounder for me. Stunning fragrance.
I bought this from nordstroms last month and wore it just fine this summer. Everyone still loved the smell and NOBODY complained at all! My favorite pdm by far! I’m guessing this will take the place as pdm best seller for a long time.
Absolutely! I started wearing all my favorite cold weather fragrances (including oud fragrances) last summer because I just don't like freshies and none of them has been out of season or given me a headache. You can (and should) wear any fragrance you like whenever you like. I'm mostly inside when it's hot anyways. The only time I'm wearing freshies now is when I'm going to the lake or outside when it's 90+ degrees....lol
Definitely feel like fragcom over estimates how potent a “cold weather” fragrance is in warm weather. Use a couple less sprays and nobody is going to complain. Definitely don’t need to STOP wearing them completely

making it more sparkly yet the slight lavender softens everything out.

Man I love haltane
I love Haltane. I've been wearing this all summer to great effect. It definitely leans fall/winter but unlike OFG and some others this one does very well in higher temps.
I got this a few months back and its utter genius. They took the OFG dna and did something brilliant with it. Its so much more wearable. I think its the cleverest PDM fragrance of all time. It lasts FOREVER!!! I mean it literally lasts days on your clothes. An absolute masterpiece that wont be recognised for its genius for a few years
I love this scent profile. They are both great fragrances. I do find Haltane to be dryer, woodier and more masculine that Oud for greatness.

I went inside nordstrom today expecting to buy a Creed fragrance while a few of them smelled pretty nice..I didn't think they were worth the money..So I skipped over to the parfums de marly section and Sedley & Haltane were the ones that stood out to me the most. I ultimately decided on Haltane because it would be a great winter/fall fragrance and Sedley is more a Summer scent. Haltane for me, Smelled very sweet and nostalgic..Reminded me of a Carnival at night..Smelling all those sweet Carnival confections blowing through the night breeze with this hint of musk & spice underneath.
Bought this as a blind buy, and dang!! Smelled So great! I have a lot of favorites in parfums de marly. This one is an instant fave, next to layton and Herod.

It’s a good release by pdm. I like that’s it’s not like everything else out there. Can’t wait to get some more wear once it cools off a bit outside

I got a tester for this and just love it! Shame that I will never buy it due to the insane price. But it is dark, cozy and inviting but not too strong in that direction that it would put people off. I cant imagine wearing Oud for greatness if it is really that potent but this is done exactly right regarding strength and duration.
I have a sample vial of this coming in the next day or two and I am super excited.
I actually got a 1 or 2 ml sample from PDM and I love this frag. Trying to wait and catch it for the 250ish range.
Really glad I found this channel. Not going to lie, I fell out of love with your main channel a while back. But this is the type of content I'm here for as someone who really enjoys fragrances. Subscribed.
Also, have a 10ml decant of Haltane and I absolutely adore it. Even above Carlisle for me now.

Hey Ash! I would love to see your review on "stercus" from the orto parisi line. It is by far the funkiest and the freakiest smelling fragnance i have ever tried. ( but in a good way )

I like Haltane. It smells good. I actually like Kalan. I don't understand why lots of people say it smells like dirt. Also, I am not a huge fan of Carlisle. It does smell okay, it just doesn't smell as amazing as it's been hyped up as smelling. In my opinion, Herod, Layton, Pegasus, and Godolphin all smell much better than Carlisle.

This is a little more dry woodier version of Widians Liwa. When you smell them in the air, they are almost the same.

Just bought this and smelled it side by side with OFG. I find this better (less harsh woods, creamier, a bit sweeter) than the OFG.
I like both but if I have to choose only one, I’ll pick up Haltane.

i'm thinking it's the 2 layers of oud giving off that old furniture scent, oud does have an interesting application in alot of fragrances, when it's labelled as both a mid and base note then usually theirs some kind've additional effect..... i'll probably scoo[p this up for the winter (black friday sales lol)
Now that I know Initio and PDM are intertwined, then yeah I’m good with Supremacy in Oud.
Love haltane and oud for greatness. Haltane you can wear it year round
It sounds like a release that fragrance enthusiasts will actually regard as a niche one instead of a “glorified designer” fragrance.
That being said, I don’t care at all when PdM releases high quality mass appealing fragrances, especially because performance tends to be really good when they release something. I really love Layton, Oajan and Herod. And I like Greenley a lot as a casual/hot weather alternative.

Yo I have Halatan, Carlisle, and Layton. Halatan is masterpiece. It smells like oud for Glory in the opening, BUT man the dry dry down a couple hours in have it smelling like something different. And a day later it smells even different. Your description was apt about it's changes. I think it's my favorite PDM and I would've told you before getting it that Carlisle is my favorite followed by Layton. But Halatan is king for me.

I think when you consider the value behind it, it could be worse. 4.2oz will last me forever.
Besides TF Noir Extreme this is one of the most beutifull scents I've smelled so far.
Noir extreme and Ombré Leather gotta be best of Tom Ford
I absolutely LOVE Kalan which was surprising considering gin not a big spice guy. I thought it was going to be something only I liked, similar to my tobacco fragrances. The responses and compliments I get from Kalan was/is surprising.
Why didn't you put this on your main channel bro? PDM is a big niche house.
How beast mode is it? MFK Oud easily fills a room or two rooms for that matter with one spray. Is it that level?
The opening reminds me a little of African Leather mixed with a touch of OFG.
I have all 3 and prefer Haltane over OFG. It’s just easier to wear in more scenarios…n

I have 5 different PDM samples, and this is by far my favorite. But I love oud and wood...so not a big surprise I guess!

Wearing this right now, smells like a Stately manor with the wood vanrishy smell and the spices mixed in.

Does this Haltane reminds you more on Supremacy in Oud because of the sweetness or its closer to OFG?

Y'all I got the $50 sample set. And this one smells very good. You won't regret buying it. I have only used two in the set so far, and they both smell phenominal. It's definitely worth its price because I haven't smelt something close to ether sample I used.

Okay.. so i just got this and when i went to spray it, the atomizer was a turtle head. The cap at least clicked, but now that I've sprayed it more, the atomizer popped up but the cap doesn't click anymore. Not sure what that's about. Also, not sure if I'm nose blind, but i question how long it lasts, and projection. I really love the scent, and I've already tested it via sample size, and seemed to perform better from that.. now that i have the full bottle, I'm not sure how well it performs
Smells like a smoother midnight oud which Is a amouage interlude man clone. The projection was poor and the performance was 3 hours on of my skin.
Tried a sample that PDM sent me. Not for me. Reminds me of YSL Kouros Body.
It has similarities with Oud For Greatness but it's not that close. I didn't even think of OFG the first time I smelled Haltane.
I got the sample in and I immediately thought it smelled like something I owned and I finally figured it out hours later. Savage Elixir. I don’t own Oud for greatness so can’t compare that. Elixir definitely had the same kind of dna. I prefer the pdm as it was a lil sweeter and bit of a better fit for me.
Haltane only gets the extra gent scents treatment and not the main channel? 😱

Just wore this last week in the middle of July during the day and it worked just fine it wasn’t nothing crazy and I wasn’t knocking nobody out with it. I did 6 sprays btw

The smell kind of reminds me of Dior Sauvage Elixir, but I can't explain why that is.

What are you talking about? It smells nothing like Sauvage Elixir. I guess you could make out some similarities if you’re analyzing the scent, but they smell completely different.

@@darthdeluxe_1 Yea, that's precisely why. PdM makes mass appealing frags and are more or less a luxury brand and not niche. This is due to the evolving meaning of the term niche. True niche nowadays means scents that are unique and won't appeal to everyone. Rather than the old definition of niche (that a house just has to make frags and nothing else), today its more about the vibe. This new look at niche has been growing in fragcomm, especially in the forums and other prominent YT communities for some time now and is pretty much becoming the new norm. So, I'm sure that's what the other gentleman was referring too, because by those standards, PdM is a luxury brand, but not really niche.

Layton best frag I've ever smelled
Yes. I use mine sparingly. At work, I wear Detour Noir so I don't use it all up. Lol. Detour Noir is close with great performance.

@@richardspurgeon8954 Yeah I've got that one too. It's got similarities to Layton, but the pepper really makes it its own thing. Plus I only get 4-6 hours with that one. Detour Noir is the closest thing to Layton that I've smelled.

Ministry of Oud Greatest by Paris Corner is a sweeter take on Oud For Greatness. At least comparing them side-by-side on my skin. Haven't smelled PDM Haltane though.

Old age/old wood is something I like, my wife hates. When something smells like a grandpa's attic I'm happy, she wants me to get rid of the sample :D so sad I can't buy Orto Parisi Cuoium cuz I can't wear it then as it lats a day and smells of well, animals leather and old.

They won't. The ingredients are very expensive. It costs about 120gbp per bottle to make.

I get mine from Aura Fragrance. I bought Sedley for $164 after taxes. Haltane goes for $230.

Not to my nose. I smell it everyday and get no elixir vibe
It does kind of have the sweetness vibe from Elixir, with a touch of oud. Also somewhat comparable to the sweetness of BR 540 but with a bit of oud and more depth type of opening. That’s probably the two best ways I could describe it.
Blind buying fragrances solely on hearing good reviews on it is cool but now I have 3 fragrances that smell exactly the same, Elixir by Dior, Initio OFG and now Haltane that is also coming in sometime this week :/😂
Never blind buy everyone style and nose and SKIN CHEMISTRY is different only use reviews to learn about new fragrances

Considering that Initio is basically the same company as Parfums de Marly, and the only fragrance they make that anybody buys is Oud for Greatness, which has now been bettered by Haltane, why do they even exist at all?
I love side effect by Initio. At a home party a girl that I know just didn't want to let go of me 😅
