This review is spot on. Haltane is so much easier and more versatile to wear. OFG is disgusting when it's hot, but this one is light and airy enough. Haltane if it was half the price would be amazing.
Met up today with North American operations manager for perfumes de Marly Jarrod he said that’s what they were going for a easier to wear oud, that can be worn even on summer nights. The fragrance in the air, to the lay person would not be able to tell the difference. A seasoned 👃 would catch it in a heart beat. Both have their uses. OFG is my go to in the winter.
When I tried Haltane a few months ago my immediate thought was that it smells like a combination of Oud for Greatness and other PDM's. Great video. Keep it up.
@@kwameasiedu7328 just received OUD FOR GREATNESS today and I am so happy I bought it . Thank you for your review that helped me make decision. To me OUD FOR GREATNESS is masterpiece
Thank you for the review! I had a 10 mL sample of Haltane and loved every drop. I too agree it's overpriced so I've been searching for it discounted for awhile to no avail. :( but then I heard that Oud for Greatness was similar or even better. You're review helps me manage my expectations! Needless to say, I'm making the buy for Oud for Greatness (also discounted)! Thanks! #subscribed 🙏😁
Have to disagree on haltane's performance , I get 12 hours and great projection for the first 4 , ofg is headache inducing because it has nothing about it to offset the oud and saffron
Female here. I've tried so hard to like oud for greatness but just can't. Haltane, however, is definitely up my alley & will eventually be added to my collection.
George, thank you for a great review and comparison between these two fragrances. I don’t own either, or any oud fragrance for that matter, but am researching for my first oud. I own several PdM fragrances and find them to be quite appealing to my nose. Would you recommend either of these for the oud novice?
budget-wise I'd say try oud touch by Frank Olivier. it may not have any real oud but you can definitely smell the accord. I recently blind bought it and the quality was amazing for the price (around 25 USD). you can look up reviews on YT. (Oud vanille might work better for you but I don't have it). id definitely recommend on e of those or else sampling a few more expensive oud fragrances. some ones to look out for IMO: Designer- Versace oud noir, Boss bottled oud, louis Vuitton Ombre Nomade, Gucci intense oud Niche- Initio OFG, Guerlain Santal Royal, Arabian oud kalemat black
@@FridmanB Thank you for your recommendations Fridman. Unfortunately, my experiences with Oud (while in the Middle East) are not great ones (significant overspray on people attempting to mask tremendous body odor). Since then, I have avoided the Oud note and accord at all costs. However, since so many find the scent of Oud to be pleasing to their nose, I am going to give it a try.
@@sheldon3996 i think there oud note can smell quite different based on how its used. Sometimes its very fecal and animalic. Definetely not an easy scent to overspray or be in enclosed areas with. But as long as you spray propperly i think it should be nice. Obviously every nose is different and getting over a personal dislike can be difficult but i hope you end up enjoying it. Its become my favourite note recently and im loving it in the cold weather
@@FridmanB I recently purchased an Agarwood based shaving soap and really like it. I agree, it seems to be more of a cold weather scent, although I find other wood based notes to be four season (sandalwood, cedar, evergreens, etc).
I literally thought of oud for greatness also that’s crazy, but just Haltane is sweeter and no so in your face. Oud for greatness is sexy loud fragrance wild Haltane is a little more welcoming

Thank you for your feedback. You are absolutely right. Haltane would work better than OFG in the hotter months. OFG is exclusively a winter frag!
It is half the price. On discounters.
Did anyone else get a little smoke on the dry down vs OFG? I felt the OFG was a bit sweeter and very consistent!

Ok ok. Once again you have convinced me to buy another fragrance. Best channel on TH-cam
Dude your reviews are next level and extremely useful. CHEERS!!! happy new follower of your Channel here
Ofg would be perfect if they changed nutmeg for cardamom. I hate cardamom with citrus. Any recommendation for ofg with cardamom instead of nutmeg?
Thank you for a very nice...well thought out review and comparison. Just what I was looking for.
Thank you for your comment. I'm glad you found some value from my video 🙂
