I am in the US. Brittish coins fascinate me. They all have such character. The first penny was awesome! I had no idea the denomination was that old. While early US coins have a certain cache, the coins produced in Brittain over the last 1000+ years are way cooler. Love the channel.
Great info thank you, as I only collect coins I've dug up detecting, my favourite penny is the first of the Saxon one's I found years ago, the Aethelred II from 978-979 one in my avatar, great memories.
Prettiest copper coins ever, the many I have from the first half of the 20th century. I bought as many as I could find when I was a kid and have so many. Thanks for the lesson.

Thanks so much for your kind words and it cool to hear such passion for the good old penny from over the pond 😁 👍
What a very rich history for the humble little penny
It really is, an cool that it is still being used
Thanks for watching TSC
Do one on the giant 2p from 1797 ,,you wouldn't like to have 1shillings worth in your pocket 😮
I have made a video where I show off my example
But it is quite an old video

Wow such an incredible coin, especially to find it yourself
A very intriguing history with such coins, potentially lost for centuries!
Edward VII is my favourite penny coins.
I really like Edward VII coins as well some great designs across all denominations

Glad you enjoyed
For me Penny collecting starts in 1860.
A choice made by many collectors as that style is so popular 👍
