Interesting channel like you I am fascinated with old coinage I am no coin collector but over the years I have inherited and acquired lots of coins unfortunately sold my florins and crowns about 15 years ago and I think I got a fair price now going through all my bronze coins some going back to the 17th century hope I find a rare date to help with bills just found your channel and look forward to more good content
I'd forgotten the story about cab fares and the 4d (blame it on old age😂). The minister who introduced the coin was Joseph Hume, which gave rise to the coin's nickname of "Joey"
@@BitsAndBobsCoins thanks very much Ethan I have been going through my coins today got more than I thought no silver only 3d also some old tokens thanks again

Interesting That is cool to know the etymology of the term, Thanks 👍
You do get some very good coins. I like the farthings, I use to spend those when I was a boy.
Thanks
That's very cool to have spent some old coins
Good stuff
Glad you enjoyed
I would also of picked the 1925 florin good luck collecting the Victoria farthings you will need some deep packets to collect them...
Yes thanks some of the 1800s farthings do have quite the premium
Never ever buy a coin with a hole in
It is definitely a big factor in the huge value loss
What coin book are you using
The collectors coins album 2020, we did make a video a few years ago about it.
