      Are you still planning to bombard on the Braves failures this post season despite the historical regular season???

    It’s baseball, no matter how many machines, formulas, or clocks you throw at it that pitch still has to be thrown at someone else.
    It’s unpredictable, that’s why I love it.

    • @keenufan
      @keenufan ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Unpredictable? The Astros keep winning, that seems predictable. I predicted all the winners so far from wild card rounds. If you really pay attention to the games and don't fooled by the regular season record, you can predict or at least odds favor you. For example, people predict Oreoles and Dodgers because of the record and firepower, but ignore that Oreoles don't have experience and Dodgers have no pitching. Phillies eliminated Braves last year and they are better this year so they really should be favor to win IMHO.

    (Disclosure: huge O’s fan here)
    I don’t want to sound like I’m making excuses. You need to win in the postseason no matter how good you are in the regular. That’s life.
    However, I have seen some good arguments lately against the 5-day-off rest period the division winners get. Baseball players cool off way faster than other sports players because they’re so used to playing constantly. At the end of the day though, they are professionals and they need to put up or get out. I understand the counter-argument too.
    The only thing that I can see being a problem after this new rule change as of 2 years ago is that the incentive structure will change. What’s the point of winning the division in the regular if your club gets a massive 5-day cool-off period? I could see a future where a division leader starts to intentionally blow games at the tail end of the regular season so that they don’t win the division, but they still get a WC berth. That way (strategically) they can continue to play ball with the high-pressure atmosphere of the postseason (not the same environment as holding high-level practices during the 5-day bye). And that’s not a good precedent for the sport or for the loyal fans who’ve watched their teams for 6 months and 162 games.
    Take this year so far as an example: It’s one thing if one top-seed team doesn’t make it to the LCS, but the fact that almost all the top-seed teams have not only lost their LDS, but have gotten swept? Something else is going on there: 5-day bye is making these hot regular-season teams polar-ice cold. I just don’t want MLB to become a “race for the WC but not the division” sport. I guess we’ll see how this plays out over the coming years when we get a larger sample size.

The 100 win teams go into the start of the playoffs with pressure on them and players tired. The Wild Card teams have nothing to lose and have no pressure because they were not all that great during regular season. But MLB added Wild Card teams just to get tv, attendance & merchandise for those sub-par teams.

The whole not letting it go and acting as if you're above them is asinine, cheating has always been a big problem in the mlb it's only recently that they've actually been cracking down on it. Also, in 2017, Houston was damn near destroyed by Hurricane Harvey. Don't you think that any player on the fence about cheating would be swayed a little bit by that? Think about it they get to tip the balance in their favor and bring a championship home to a city that's never won a world series and was just devastated.

And every team is playing from first pitch to last pitch. Long story short I don’t like this calling the losers better teams, if they were better teams they would have won.
