Being murdered and having the world think you deleted yourself, has to be one of the most shameful deaths. Google his autopsy. Read the 2nd paragraph. He was found with his butt touching the ground in the seating position with something around his neck and around a doorknob. Impossible scenario for suicide.
I know, this life is very stressful when you’re dealing with health issues, especially emotional distress in the form of depression & anxiety along with all the other pressures & trials of life that can be so overwhelming. For those of us who suffer with these conditions, maintaining emotional stability is an essential everyday priority. How vital it is that we all learn our limitations with respect to what we can handle versus what we cannot. It differs greatly from person to person.
He wasn't even depressed in the way you're talking about. He was suffering from a type of Parkinson's disease and it caused his mental health to decline rapidly in the months before his death.
@@Defeft But Rick is right that there was sadness in his eyes, many years before his death. It's an established phenomenon that comics in particular, and artists in general, experience great bouts of depression.
Not satisfied with just making humans laugh, Robin Williams became the first comedian to bring joy to gorillas... Now that's a master of the comedic craft right there.
It's not really human qualities.... that s a human problem though it seems to think we have anything so unique in our characters to claim things shared by many other species as "human qualities"
“Heard a joke once: Man goes to doctor. Says he's depressed. Says life seems harsh and cruel. Says he feels all alone in a threatening world where what lies ahead is vague and uncertain. Doctor says, "Treatment is simple. Great clown Pagliacci is in town tonight. Go and see him. That should pick you up." Man bursts into tears. Says, "But doctor...I am Pagliacci.” -Alan Moore. RIP Rob
Koko the Gorilla was truly a genius. She is one of the few animals ever to shatter the barrier between human communication with different species and its so amazing.
Buddy, my dog does it all the time. On everything, daily, non-stop with clear intent and meaning. In fact he has an opinion on everything I do and when I should do it. But ya sign language is pretty next level.
No Pikers perhaps... then again koko asked for a kitten to be put on her head in one video, imagine all the weird shit your dog might want you to do that isn’t obvious
We can make that better. He was my guide and mentor in so many ways. I use comedy in acting because I grew up loving his diversity and reach. :) It can be better.
This is really special because this is one of the few times Robin seemed comfortable just being him. No goofy noises or imitations. This is how you know he is at a very special place in his heart. I only wish he could have stayed there more. The world will never get over him. ❤️
This one made me cry, tears of joy and sadness. I was blessed because I worked on 5 of Robin's films. One day I asked him what it was like to meet Koko. A huge smile came over his face. "Amazing. It changed my consciousness, forever." I could see that he was in love with Koko. Whenever his children were on set, he had a discernable 'sparkle' in his eyes. And when he talked about her he had that same twinkle in his eyes - which also 'smiled.' He said that she saw all that hair all over his body and must have thought he was at least part simian. Because his body hair was 'an issue' and one that he joked about on occasion. I laughed. Not just because almost everything that he ever said was funny in and of itself but because on one film in particular (Father's Day) we were filming in downtown Reno, NV, and it was getting pretty hot out and he was across the street meeting and greeting all of his fans who got the usual show - he absolutely LOVED entertaining his fans whenever he got the chance. Being on the crew and behind the scenes was at times riotous. The lines that he improved and that eventually wound up on the cutting room floor were always far funnier than the scripted lines which wound up on the film. When he was done he had them all laughing and smiling and came over to where I was at, and said, "Damn its getting hot" and then proceeded to take off his shirt. I noticed that quite a few of the people looked almost shocked, stunned even. We were within earshot of the onlookers so I said, "Wow. Thats a really nice sweater youre wearing Robin, where'd you get it?" And as usual, he delivered a line without a moment's hesitation (he was so quick on his feet), he said, "You like it? I got it for my birthday." The crowd cracked up. A little known aspect of Robin's career, which I saw so many times on set, was how he would have lunch with Make-a-Wish children, who were diagnosed with terminal conditions and just wanted to meet this wonderful person they enjoyed watching on TV or in a movie - usually Aladdin - and unlike every other 'star' instead of going to his trailer, he would pour his heart out to these kids for an hour, and give them shirts and hats and signed posters, and laughter, and maybe even hope. He was the nicest person I ever met in the film industry and maybe even in my life. I had a genuine respect and love for that man. I was so happy to see this video of their meeting for the first time after all these years later. Bless both their Souls. Knowing Robin was amazing, and I am saddened that these two great Souls are gone, but both of these 'Angels' changed the consciousness of the world and have returned to the place from whence they came. I miss him. But he earned his ticket back home and I hope he has healed all the hurt that he kept hidden in his heart, while he was busy making everyone else laugh. I miss Koko too. Just the idea of what Penny and her did to change peoples awareness regarding the true nature of animals and their beautiful spirits and their heartfelt emotions, and their innate understanding of human nature, and their ability to forgive us and our ignorance of all that they are, has rung a bell for the whole world (and especially within me) that cant be unrung. Love eternal to you two hairy friends. 🙂🙏

Ever since I heard about Koko and Robin Williams as a kid, I've thought that they were really cool people. A gentle-giant Gorilla that could absolutely tear you apart within seconds, learning sign language and using it to communicate with humans with good intentions and wondrous results. An ordinary every-day man that didn't let the Hollywood stardom and fame get to his head, and lived purely to make people laugh. I miss both of them too.
lmao, thought the same about the hairy shoulders, she was faschinated how Robin could be so like her xD Agree. The world was a better place when Robin Williams was still here, but he lives on in our hearts and our minds. But damn, I miss him terribly.
@GoPro Dog you don’t just give a statement and wash your hands off. think twice and don’t talk shit about others... think about the fact you showed your entire person with one comment, and it hasn’t given a good image of it.
Him and Stan Lee were the only times I was genuinly sad for. I think it’s because they didn’t put on this fake persona and just acted like themselves which is pretty rare for celebrities.
His passing had me crying ugly tears. He was truly a wonderful human being. I just wish our love for him could have been enough to make him want to stay.

My heart goes out to you. It felt like the world just *stopped* when my father died in 1996, like a part of my life just .. disappeared, was torn away. I came here from th-cam.com/video/dxwPdWXL70g/w-d-xo.html in case that might help you feel better. It certainly helps my mood.
rj zander That is not true at all. He was suffering from Dementia with Lewy Bodies which is a condition that has nothing to do with cocaine use. Stop trying to smear a wonderful man.
Robin Williams was such an incredibly talented man. From his stand up comedy to his serious performance as a psychologist in good will hunting his range was impressive. He will forever be missed. He surely seemed to be truly enjoying this visit with KOKO.
What was amazing for me was that she recognised a picture of Robin and fully understands its the person sitting with him. And then there is the clear sign of self awreness of putting on the glasses!! Being self aware is something we only thought people had untill actually pretty recently.
Koko the Gorilla passed in her sleep last night. She was 46, which is a ripe old age for a gorilla. I sincerely hope that in whatever afterlife there is that Robin Williams is waiting for his friend Koko.
SubtleAsh-TheImmortal I get the joke and it really is funny, but Koko does NOT have a mean or hurtful bone or even an atom in her body! She wouldn’t ever hurt a living thing unless she understood she or another living thing was in danger. If she says “Tickle” and the person didn’t, only her feelings would be hurt.
She wouldn't have hurt him because there was no need. Gorillas are not fierce animals, but they are protective of each other and their young and why shouldn't they be. She was so smart that she knew it was a game. Only man and chimps are likely to kill you for no reason, and then even the chimps are unlikely to without provocation.
My dear God, my heart still beats. It is so hard for me to accept their passing I knew about Robin but not Koko. I am in tears over such friendship as this. Sweetest thing to see and so precious. 💐🕯️😔

I do believe in a joined heaven of both humans and animals we loved. The two will have a lot of fun together, climbing trees, throwing bananas, giggling and hugging…. Just imagine if everything will be just FINE!
There is an eerie irony in the opening monologue. Robin speaks of Koko understanding life, love, and death. It's tragic that a man who brought so my joy, love, happiness, and laughter couldn't overcome his own sadness. I saw a real bond there as well. You can see the gentleness in Robin's eyes. The admiration and respect he has for Koko. She is also a rarity. She was so gentle. The laughter they shared was incredible. This gorilla is so powerful yet she always moves slow and caring. She was a beautiful creature. Robin was a beautiful person. Both will be missed. Robin I hope you found the peace you didn't have here. RIP Mr. Willams and God Bless you and Koko.
@Trendz Now Unfortunately, as he had Lewy Body Dementia (and was misdiagnosed), he might have not even had a clear mind and thought when he did kill himself, that disease really ruins your sense of reality.
@Trendz Now I didn't mean that sadness killed him. I am well aware of the killer depression is. It can hide, be well hidden actually, and strike without warning. By that I mean the end of life. I knew a beautiful young lady, only 24 yrs old. She was the nicest and sweetest woman I worked with or knew for that matter. What we didn't know was she was depressed. She kept it well hidden. Then one night(we worked 3rd shift) I came in and saw she she didn't come in. I figured she was out sick. No, she had hung herself. I would NEVER downplay, make light of, or attempt to change what happened. My friend was so sweet and funny, she brought joy and laughter to everyone she met. Robin Williams was a comedic GENIUS. He brought so much joy and laughter to so many people. The fact that people have this disease-depression and no one can see it unless that person allows it makes it a terrifying illness. The fact that it can be hidden by the person is as I said so scary. My friend I guess when she was alone was so empty and lonely. Her boyfriend saw glimpses but didn't realize it. The fact that this illness ends with the person ending their life is tragic. This disease, illness, or what ever you call it is beyond sad.
Edster III Everyone seems to be forgetting that he’d been diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia. We just lost my beautiful mother-in-law to this awful disease. Is a combination of your brain deteriorating AND Parkinson’s at the same time. You lose your ability to talk clearly, walk and finally eat or drink. It’s an incredibly difficult decline and I honestly believe Robin decided to just skip that part. There is no cure AND Robin’s brain/wit was his gift to the world. Miss both of these extraordinary beings...
I was at school when I found out that Robin Williams had passed on. When I came home, I immediately sat down on the couch and began to cry. My father knew what I was crying about, I didn't even have to say a word. I told my father that I felt so terrible, and that I didn't understand why such a wonderful person had to die. He did tons of charity work, and now he isn't here to be a part of that anymore. My father told me that Robin's kindness could only fade out if we allow it to fade out. The work he did is still here to be done, but we have to be the ones to do it. His kindness, His spirit can live on forever.
EVIL UBUNTU Yes. It was tragic and he was a good man. Although for me, I actually did have the pleasure of meeting him. He didn't have to stop and talk to us, but he did. Very down to Earth guy.
So true. Nonhuman animals, even reptiles, could sense this. I use to work at a wildlife center and there were reptiles there that would be so nice to me, there was even an aggressive lizard and a bald eagle who were violent towards others, but not to me. The combination of ASD and the depression that follows with having disabilities made them sympathize in their own way. They knew I wasn't like the other caretakers at the facility. The tortoises loved me, because they knew I would give them extra collard greens and scratched their shells a bit, during feeding time. 🥰🥰🥰 The bald eagle would just sit on his log and one time I was tired I sat next to him, but he would just stare at me. I would never do eye contact because of my autism, so my eyes would point to his feet. With other caregivers he would scream, flap his wings violently and charge at them, but he could sense I wasn't like them. I walk with a limp due to being pushed down the stairs too many times back at high school. I never walked the same, so the animals at the wildlife center knew I was abused by humans like they were. I have so much love and understanding for my nonhuman animal friends. I got connected and loved a vulture there name Victor. She ()the story was that everyone thought she was a he until she laid an egg but the name got stuck) got blinded by humans who used her as target practiced for their crossbows. Humans can be so nasty towards each other and far worse towards other species. Victor ad I bonded in similar ways as the bald eagle Mr.Cooper. It took me years to trust humans again till I gotten betrayed by family members and an ex. Humans are so unpredictable and cruel. I would've loved to work there full time but they moved and I needed a biology degree to work there. 😥If I made the money, I would get a biology degree to work with such amazing beings that make you forget about your differences.

You can see the connection between them just by looking at Robin's face. As someone who lives with depression, it's hard sometimes to feel a genuine connection with someone without paranoia or doubt. Not true. Their light and that of those who have also passed still shine bright, so long as they're remembered and shared. We all die twice, our physical death and the memory others have of us. Their memory still burns bright, and thanks to video their light can shine forever.
Except he wasn't going through any fucking pain in this video. He had depression because the type of Parkinson's disease he had caused rapid cognitive deterioration.
For those still judging his suicide: A medical report showed he had a far developed brain disease without knowing it. There is no such thing like a personal responsibility for comitting suicide. It is a chaotic desperate state of mind and total loss of control. wish him and his family PEACE
@@piffpaff9674 It's not always a loss of control and not always driven by a brain disease..Some people just can't handle the pain they suffer and they don't see any other solution so it's planned. One of the best videos I've seen this year. Out of all the bullshit celebrity deaths, Robin Williams has been the first I've cared about. He was in all my favourite films when I was a child and gave me and my siblings uncountable hours watching things from Hook, Jumanji, Mrs Doubtfire and etc. He was a part of so many lives growing up, and everyone was instantly drawn to his natural energy and down to earth nature. "Out of all the bullshit celebrity deaths, Robin Williams has been the first I've cared about." I feel exactly the same way. I liked seeing him the most in interviews because it was the best glimpse of who he really was. Sucks, I will miss him for a long time. Thanks for the laughs bud.
I agree: Most celebrity deaths don't affect me. I mean, I didn't really know them...but Robin's made me cry when I found out because he was such a huge inspiration and had a great spirit. The world won't be the same without him
Same here : all those celebrities passing away, who cares really. But Robin Williams, even though he was one of those distant celebrities, felt like a true person. Always genuine and just a guy with his heart on the right place. He had his problems (oh my) but still : it was a shock to find out he decided for himself that he had enough of this life. Such a shame and such a terrible loss...
I totally agree. Though he was famous, his vibe was soooo different from any other celeb. My mothers generation grew with him, as did mine. He was a huge part of so many childhoods and lives.

Being murdered and having the world think you deleted yourself, has to be one of the most shameful deaths. Google his autopsy. Read the 2nd paragraph. He was found with his butt touching the ground in the seating position with something around his neck and around a doorknob. Impossible scenario for suicide.

The last scene of Robin being held in Koko’s arms was one of the most pure things I’ve ever seen. So beautiful.
It is beatiful. Brought a tear to my eye.
Are youall fucking rocks?
Im dehydrated from crying so much...
hello i am channel mp. can you subscribe to my channel? i would be very happy. thanks
This one made me cry, tears of joy and sadness. I was blessed because I worked on 5 of Robin's films. One day I asked him what it was like to meet Koko. A huge smile came over his face. "Amazing. It changed my consciousness, forever."
I could see that he was in love with Koko.
Thats a really nice sweater youre wearing Robin, where'd you get it?"
And as usual, he delivered a line without a moment's hesitation (he was so quick on his feet), he said, "You like it?
Absolutely- very well stated. I totally agree.
@@homerun8953 I found that out to be the truth with what really happened to Mr. Williams; thank you for stating that.

He did tons of charity work, and now he isn't here to be a part of that anymore. My father told me that Robin's kindness could only fade out if we allow it to fade out. The work he did is still here to be done, but we have to be the ones to do it. His kindness, His spirit can live on forever.

Koko picked up on his depression, that's why the attempt to articulate tickle, to bring him joy
@@LadyCoyKoi Oh my goodness, what you have is much more important than a biology degree!!!! I hope you get to work in a setting like that again. Thanks for sharing your story with us!!!!! 😊🙏💚
I was thinking the same thing, he looked like he was having a blast while actively interacting with koko but when he stopped to talk to someone you could clearly see and hear his depression. Its sad but I'm glad they got this on camera
Robin williams was not depressed as was Chester Bennington, Avicii, Anthony Bourdain, etc.
@@1andtheOnly RIP all of them especially Chester. That one personally hurt me when I heard the news.
you can see how she adores him. she was literally smitten.
sexually?
@@lornamorgenstem6634 to say it was sexual would be nearsighted. i dont know for sure. perhaps? but i think she was looking at him the same way humans look at puppies. but imagine being an old gorilla with no experience. being an empath is tricky. but you can extrapolate things, just never at 100% accuracy. when you're a gorilla and you have much less capacity for an ego that's supposed to fit into a society as a human, the reptilian mind does strange things. can i say for sure that she wanted him as a sexual partner? no. Can i say for sure that she didnt want him as a sexual partner? also no. but based on what i seen. she was very excited when he tickled her. she also emulated his behavior. there's a lot to see here. you can see how much mr williams understood her. he knew not to bond too closely.

True. I've seen this cool attitude in other videos of KOKO.
There is a beauty in this world that escapes us. These two showed us just a glimpse of what people can really be.
Yes, it’s so beautiful when we choose to do good. We all have the ability to spread warmth, love, and positivity. I can’t express how much I love to see this happening. Beautiful.
Yes, that’s it. 🤗❤️
@ApplePie okay? What does that have to do with anything the commenter is saying? He's talking about the beauty of an act of kindness like you see in the video. So much negativity you harbor. I hope that you'll also be able to see the good of things too.
I went outside and saw a butterfly and it was beautiful. Stop and look.
Robin seemed like such a gentle soul. So sad to see him go. I truly hope that he found peace.
You can see the connection between them just by looking at Robin's face. As someone who lives with depression, it's hard sometimes to feel a genuine connection with someone without paranoia or doubt. But in this moment, I think Robin genuinely felt at peace because Koko was just so honest in her actions. It's truly a beautiful thing. Whatever he was going through at the time, Koko made him forget. I'm sure both of them are having a great old time wherever they are. RIP to these beautiful individuals.
The world misses both Robin and Koko!
I miss Robin but no Koko never knew who he was

I don't miss neither of them, Robin was nothing more than full blown wierdo who never made me laugh. I knew he was messed up in the head, and in the end he proved me right.
When she put the glasses on it's like she's trying to make him laugh too, she's so damn smart and cute
@55yrs old I seen lots of animals, mostly what we have in America but I conclude that if you measure intelligiance by common sense they are not only smarter then us but a lot more loving and possible spiritual too who knows.Bless Robin an Koko both
robin williams is one of my idols. his death hit me so hard in a way i had never really felt before - i felt as if i had lost a father figure. this was such a beautiful video. i'm so glad we have so much history of him, so much footage of his life and legacy. what a beautiful, beautiful man. may he and koko both rest in peace.
I felt the same as Pavarotti died, and Lady Di too...as if some special human beings are lost forever...there are some people which are important souls, which touches our lifes a special undiscribable way...I think it is because they give us all the love, they could'nt get for themselfes...they were givers not takers....sorry about my english, I am german...
M’y dad met him once in an elevator once lol, idk why but that just made me so much sadder when he died. He talked to my dad like he had known him for so long. A kind soul who didn’t deserve the pain he went through. He was the reason my parents had to have a suicide talk with me.
@@star-tc7xv suicide is the only way to end the things which are not to handle anymore...for me it would be peace. I am NOT in danger to do so, BUT, I am a very sensitive highintelligent person, and all the things I SEE every day are exhausting me. I can't close my eyes and pretend not to see...everything is everytime in my brain, and I don't have the power to change things. So why am I here? It is a pain...and I think somebody like Robin Williams who loved to bring joy to the world and see that he didn't change the world even as a famous person, it must have been terror in his heart and soul....watch a life full of bringing happiness in the world, and see that it does not change anything...all useless, so why live any longer? There is no way to live with those thoughts any longer. What we all have to accept is, that we are unimportant. Our lifes are unimportant. The earth could explode, but the Universe will not take any notice of it...because we are NOTHING in the billions of galaxies, stars and planets...we have to live with this fact that we are unimportant. All we do is fill our poor lifetime with things we want to believe making us important....but we are not....so suicide is unimportant too...if you are on earth or not will not change a single thing in the wide universe...Robin did know that and he decide to go into peace and rest forever.
@@monsteraable that’s why other humans exist. Obviously if we were alone on this planet I would feel there would be nothing to live for. We really don’t, you are right. Nothing is keeping us here, so why stay? Well, for one how do we know the afterlife would be any better? I mean god forbid rebirth is a thing. You would just have to go through an even shittier life as depression and other mental illnesses appear much younger in much younger people. But that’s not the point, back to my only person on the planet thing. I think humans are here because everything needs a partner. I stay for my loved ones, because their love for me is what is keeping them here, and vice-versa. We all depend on eachother, kind of like dominos. And I promise you experiencing the good times makes it feel worth it.

Having a loving relationship with an animal friend can be one of the most marvelous and healing experiences imaginable. Please rescue a dog or cat, since most of us don't have the resources or training to rescue a large animal, and you will embark on a wonderful journey.
Couldn't agree more. My animals have always been there for me with unconditional love. They never cared whether I was broke or living large. Mine were just crazy happy to see me when I walked through that door each night.

Watch "Robin's Wish." He wasn't dealing with depression.
This Earth has only gotten bleaker without them.
Not true. Their light and that of those who have also passed still shine bright, so long as they're remembered and shared. We all die twice, our physical death and the memory others have of us. Their memory still burns bright, and thanks to video their light can shine forever.

For those still judging his suicide: A medical report showed he had a far developed brain disease without knowing it. There is no such thing like a personal responsibility for comitting suicide. It is a chaotic desperate state of mind and total loss of control. wish him and his family PEACE
Yea, deep in depression lmao.
@@piffpaff9674 It's not always a loss of control and not always driven by a brain disease..Some people just can't handle the pain they suffer and they don't see any other solution so it's planned. Some plan it for decades and some only for a few hours. The problem is that society turns their head when they see someone being sad or being not like anyone else. Almost no one helps depressed people when they need it. And if there is no light in your life, not a single happy situation, then you eventually decide to harm yourself one day. One way or another

This is incredibly moving, I didn’t expect that. I’ve never seen Robin look genuinely happy as he is here. Koko is a spectacularly gifted animal, a brilliant tribute to both superstars.
RIP.
"Out of all the bullshit celebrity deaths, Robin Williams has been the first I've cared about."
I feel exactly the same way. Normally I curse celeb gossip and am no more sad to hear about a celebrity death, than if a stranger died. I actually cried when I heard because he was different, than the rest.

And on topic : I was amazed by the display of intelligence (by Koko) and the emotional interaction between Robin and Koko : astounding!
I totally agree. Though he was famous, his vibe was soooo different from any other celeb. My mothers generation grew with him, as did mine. He was a huge part of so many childhoods and lives.
Robin Williams was a true human being. His eyes tell you so much.
God I miss Robin Williams. Such a gentle and beautiful soul. The world is so much less without him.
Devastated to hear that Koko passed away. She was a close encounter of the right kind; another species actually talking back to us with love and understanding. So very very sad to see her go.
Koko was actually smiling! RIP Robin, you brought laughter to many people and now Koko! Job well done. Now you have those in Heaven laughing.
+Cheryl Farley yes, Koko seamed to take a shine to him. it was very nice. Koko is a very special gorilla. Robin had a touch with something different, a one of a kind.
+Christopher Akerley Robin was a kind soul. He had the special gift of making those laugh.
