Aww, KoKo's birthday is right around the corner!!! How exciting!!! I loved watching her play with her little baby dolls n kitty cats!! You can tell she enjoys them. I'm not sure what all these other people are talking about, how it's sad she's getting these baby dolls. She loves them. That s why people are buying them for her. I'm sure. Like my son. He likes toys n I buy it for him. If a little girl likes dolls that's what she gets as gifts!! What a beautiful soul KoKo is!!! HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY KOKO!!!! I LOVE YOU!!!
Rest in Peace, dear Koko! I've just got to know about you through this TH-cam channel, but I'm fully in love with you now! You are so beautiful and kind! I can't stop crying, i don't know why - I have got very mixed fillings watching the video.. well I hope you were happy...and I am sure you gave us a lot of knowledge about your species!!! Just priceless knowledge and experience to communicate with animals!!!! Happy birthday, dear Koko 🎉🎂🎈
the only reason is that the research was so selfish. they only thoguht of their results. theydidnt want to detour from their work. they did nt care about kokos real needs...her scientist said it herself that she regretted not letting koko have her own baby and a family of her own....
Richard Max i watched a documentary on the national georgraphic channel..Its not on this video.Penny Patterson was even in tears when she said that. SHE WAS obviously very choked up...I felt sad for them both, Koko stays at a facility now with a carer 24 hours. Penny visits her everyday...That was what the documentary said. sad
So many of you are naive. Yes, it would be nice if Koko was living in her natural habitat, but she isn't. She was born in a zoo, It's been 42 years, and she doesn't know anything else but the way she's been living. If they were to release her into the wild, at this point in her life, it would be an almost certain death sentence for her... she wouldn't last very long. What's done is done, let her be happy in the life that she's living now.
honestly i don't understand why people say she belongs in her natural habitat... i understand that gorilla's are social animals and letting her be around more of her kind would be good but other then that i see nothing wrong with domestication as not only can we learn about them but they can learn from us which can affect their evolution is very interesting ways.
lol, just like Tarzan never wants to go back to human society~ Penny and Koko love each other you don't have to mean to separate them lol, she is treated as a family. Comment down there saying using her life for public gain...well the experiments had over for years and now Penny just publishing some routine reports. Koko is a happy Gorilla for her whole life!~
magda1016 and humans use to live in caves so why not go back to that since its natural? please actually put forward and argument and not just state facts.
andrei, gorillaz feel stressed when they are the only female in the bunch, in her case she is one female and two males, needs more females to feel less stressed out
After watching some of Koko's older videos, this one makes me sad. She doesn't seem very engaged any more, doesn't appear to be attempting to communicate and doesn't even seem interested in communicating. She's basically just sitting there and having stuff put in front of her. I hate to say it, but maybe Penny finally has become too co-dependent with this animal ?
+lindalu22291 koko wants a baby. thats what she wants for her birthday. they keep giving her those stupid ass dolls. she wants a REAL baby. they need to give her an orphan gorilla baby and let her raise it. i think thats what would make her happy.
+Kryptids Don't forget when she was younger she had that youthful hope that she would have a baby and family. Now she is older, tired and more resigned to her fate. Basically, she's given up.
She's an old gorilla, and a lot has happened to her. The death of All-Ball, her kitten, definitely took a toll. Then her friend Michael, another gorilla, died suddenly and unexpectedly, at a fairly young age. And then there was the death of Robin Williams, whom she had befriended. That one's always bothered me a bit, because she'd have been happier never finding out, but as an intelligent being, I also feel like she had the right to be told. And probably the biggest disappointment in her life, she never got to be a mother, hence the gifts of dolls, and possibly the reason she displays a preference for tailless cats. They did try to help her out, but she never took an interest in Michael (rest his soul) or Ndume as potential mates, and now, well, she's old. Can you blame her for having little energy and little drive these days? She's had a long life, and not always the happiest one.
She probably was thinking that lmao, they might think they're just giving her gifts but it looks like they're mocking her because she doesn't have a baby (which she has signed numerous times that she wants one.)

Omg I just love her to pieces! ❤️ PLEASE make more videos of Koko!! They make me so happy!!
She is wonderful! I could watch her forever. :)
So strong but so gentle. Koko is an amazing person. Smart too.
This is probably one of the most innocent videos on TH-cam! So freaking cute!
all she really ever wanted was to be a mother It breaks my heart when I see the film of her saying she wants her own baby Such a beautiful girl
Mine too.
Mine too.
Aw
What a kind and gentle soul! I would love to be her friend! God Bless her and all her caregivers!
Yes, she is.
She looks sooooo disappointed with all the presents, it's sad and hilarious at the same time
maybe she doesn't like being on the 40s
She wants a family, but can't have one for some reason. I know she was rescued but I feel *so* bad for her
TheSameDamnGuy She knows 2000 words in sign and cries when people and pets cry.She is 99 percent the same as us.
@@DimensionDevices Lets face the truth she was stolen.
Koko jesteś kochana ludzie na całym świecie bierzecie przyklad jak ona kocha świat i ludzi skarb świata brawo 👍🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱
*gets doll out*
koko: Da fuk is this?
do not say bad thing to Koko
Mohd Syafeeq It's the internet grow up. I also never said anything bad about koko.
Ok i tot u say bad thing
Mohd Syafeeq It's alright
it is because she wants a child
Rest in Peace, dear Koko! I've just got to know about you through this TH-cam channel, but I'm fully in love with you now! You are so beautiful and kind! I can't stop crying, i don't know why - I have got very mixed fillings watching the video.. well I hope you were happy...and I am sure you gave us a lot of knowledge about your species!!! Just priceless knowledge and experience to communicate with animals!!!! Happy birthday, dear Koko 🎉🎂🎈
Such a beautiful, majestic and smart being. Love Koko.
Imagine if Koko had been an actual Mom. She'd be the best Mom ever! She's so loving!
She even tried to understand people while people fighting with each other
All these people commenting without even knowing the whole situation as to why she hasn't had a baby should really watch the documentary first.
just tell us why
true. artificial insemination should have been the way
the only reason is that the research was so selfish. they only thoguht of their results. theydidnt want to detour from their work. they did nt care about kokos real needs...her scientist said it herself that she regretted not letting koko have her own baby and a family of her own....
jessie james
where did she say that?
Richard Max i watched a documentary on the national georgraphic channel..Its not on this video.Penny Patterson was even in tears when she said that. SHE WAS obviously very choked up...I felt sad for them both, Koko stays at a facility now with a carer 24 hours. Penny visits her everyday...That was what the documentary said. sad
Love you koko
Lot's of love from India🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
such intellect. The way KoKo sits there thinking about stuff is so intriguing to me. Beautiful being
Awe Koko was beautiful and very smart loved 🥰 her
So many of you are naive.
Koko is a happy Gorilla for her whole life!~
Jonathan Canfield its not a human !!!!! its wild animal n where wild animal live ?
magda1016 and humans use to live in caves so why not go back to that since its natural?
please actually put forward and argument and not just state facts.
magda1016 Bitch Let Her live happy so SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!!
She seems so gentle, and is enormously patient with someone not of her species. Much we could learn.
Stunningly sad each time I re-remember that Koko is gone. I can't imagine the sadness, void & loss Penny & Ron feel after 44 years with her.
I feel sad for koko.. she wants a child but she can't get :(
why can't she get a child?
+Andrei Dominic Reyes watch the full documentary about her
andrei, gorillaz feel stressed when they are the only female in the bunch, in her case she is one female and two males, needs more females to feel less stressed out
+Inyurberdti Dfrog u cant just take an baby gorilla away from its real mom
Her voice is so soothing. What a wonderful mom for koko
so happy she had a wonderful bday enjoy many more you beautiful girl
Koko is so adorable
The way Penny talks to Koko makes me so happy ❤
Her face says “this isn’t what I asked for.”
“GIVE ME A FRICKIN BABY”
-Koko 2013
She looked depressed.
is OLD
Such an amazing animal … Such a strong message to humanity before she passed on 🙏🏽🙏🏽
After watching some of Koko's older videos, this one makes me sad.
+lindalu22291 I feel the same way, she communicated more back then, and now, she just looks so depressed.
+Kryptids Don't forget when she was younger she had that youthful hope that she would have a baby and family. Now she is older, tired and more resigned to her fate. Basically, she's given up.
Keep in mind she's elderly in gorilla terms now - elderly humans move and communicate a lot more slowly than they did when they were younger as well
She's an old gorilla, and a lot has happened to her.
1:20 her face is priceless
Lol she's so precious
She’s so cute lol
@@Chris-b4w8t yeah r.i.p :/
VtakZ she lives on in all of us I believe, like William Blake said “nothing lasts but nothing is lost”
@@Chris-b4w8t yeah

Fake mumki enjoyed. Koko is GERL. (Spoke in Gru)
"Increase in nut tax. Lose 2 nuts."
Oh no, not again.
Hm
Well, seems quite prophetic, if she was alive Biden may have actually thought of that.
Just awesome. The intelligence the determination gentleness
Commemorating 42 years of living in cages, alone, except for when this lady visits, and when she brings some cats.
~
I hope Koko had a great birthday!!! :)
And she chews with her mouth closed which most humans don’t. I’ve never seen this video of her. It was enjoyable.
is there anyway i could meet Koko she is the most wonderful thing in the world on my bucket list
yup you can just need to travel to see her i dont remember where but who knows you could be not to far from her
***** Woodside California at the Gorilla Foundation
I think the best presents for koko are food and some kittens
She was so magnificent. I love watching her videos and seeing how special and human she was.
1:19 koko be like "da fuck?"
Frizkoh hahahahhahahah you made my day XD
Lmaooo I was thinking the same thing! !😂
Lol
She probably was thinking that lmao, they might think they're just giving her gifts but it looks like they're mocking her because she doesn't have a baby (which she has signed numerous times that she wants one.)
" where's my food ?! "
