Back in 1987 i was in Hydebank YOC. This brings back memories. The regime was a lot stricter back then, no Tvs in cells and working every days shining the brass knob on the cell door and using black shoe polish to shine the black strip on the floor at the door. Also we were not allowed other inmates in our cell and the cell was to be kept immaculate and bed made up with towel, flannel and shaving brush laid out in a certain order. It looks like a holiday camp now compared to back then. On a plus note i turned life around and that was the last time i was ever in trouble.

Old Parkey gave us all a warm welcome in reception, I went through E1 to E4 and I soon realised that the stories of polishing the black floor tiles was real, you had to make your bed pack and were not allowed to lay on your bed, every time the flap lifted you shot up and said your name and number, and posters on the walls?.., behave :-p
Was in reception and this lad was kicking up a fuss about the judge sending him to hydebank at 23 years old, parkey spartan kicked him into the cubical behind him, oh those joyous memories.

The ones in America are designed bad, I being a few time as a young one in about 99 to 05 in England, 1st time set up by the police for attempted burglary, I liked it , I kept going back because of the drugs got on heroin, I have never had no reason to attempt to burgle someone , Am from a good family 2nd got kicked out while on tag had to go back, I liked it , but not now I would hate it I would get padded up with school friends, last time I got a single cell on detox wing, would get hash an other things flicked under my door, I once woke up in prison and I could not even remember what I did or were I was because of diazepam, at least in England there’s no homosexuals like in America, but they is loads of rapists in now , it’s 3rd world stuff now
Nolan deserves to be locked up. Chasing people on petrol forecourts for not wearing a mask...
yeo i'm from east belfast was getting sent to the womans part of hydebank about 3 years ago but they dropped the case thankfully
