It’s a tradition in our house as soon as Thanksgiving dinner is over if you don’t want football everybody else watches Christmas vacation with Chevy Chase!! I love your reaction to all the slapstick things in this movie. Great reaction
My family has watched this every single year for as long as I can remember (and I'm 38 so that's nothing to sneeze at lol). It's one of our rock-solid holiday traditions, and no matter what time of year it is, whenever any of us fix something around the house, we announce _"FIXED THE NEWEL POST!!"_ when we're finished. lol
This is always my favorite Christmas film. It is insane what these characters go through, or what they put themselves through, but I love it. One of the best performances by Chevy Chase. Also, I love the opening animation and song. Really sets the mood for me.
Tbh I didn't really watch this one until I was an adult but now it's part of my yearly Christmas watchlist lol. The poor cat though. Love that sweater btw! 💙 I forget how funny the Pledge of Allegiance scene is everytime. 😂
You sir are a DELIGHT!!! The family here is in the Chicago burbs, not terribly far from Iowa😊 The scene w the black dickie & the white sweater kills me EVERY time🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for the fun reaction. Stay safe & love much💖
This is mine and my mother's favourite Christmas film. since moving out on my own, we get less of a chance to watch it together, but it will ALWAYS be a classic. Anytime we spot a squirrel, the urge to shout it out like in the scene is undeniable
I highly recommend checking out the rest of the Vacation series (National Lampoon's Family Vacation, European Vacation, and Vegas Vacation). There are a lot of running gags throughout the series (the moose mugs are a reference to the first), like Rusty and Audrey getting recast every movie.
I’ve loved this film ever since I first saw it…..& yes, I actually own one of the Wally World moose mugs….still in the process of finding the rest of the mugs & eggnog bowl. Fun Fact: Mae Questel, who played Aunt Bethany was also known for providing the voices for the animated characters Betty Boop (from 1931) and Olive Oyl (from 1933). Mae went on to reprise her role as Betty Boop one last time in 1988s Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Her final film appearance was National Lampoons Christmas Vacation……& what away to go out!!! Also, Clark’s boss is played by Bill Murray’s brother; Brian Doyle Murray…..who also appears in the excellent Wayne’s World, as Noah Vanderhoff.
This is our favorite Christmas movie!! So many requotable sayings in this movie. Chevy Chase is a great physical comedian. The mugs they are drinking from, they got from the 1st Vacation movie when they went to Wally World. I have a Christmas t-shirt that says "SHITTERS FULL". Their home was utterly destroyed but Clark always looks on the bright side. We always watch this every Christmas. I know it's September but I saw it on your list & needed a laugh. I love your laugh. I know you'll watch this again.
12:10 "BORN IN A BARN??!" Fellow farming community member here. My mom always asked me that when I left the door open as a kid, lol! "Were you born in a barn??!" (But now that I think about it, it said more about my mom than it said about me if she gave birth to me in a barn, lol!)
@@AwesomeUSMovies I wish my mom had been born in a barn, then when she asked me if I was, as she often did, I'd say 'no mom, but you were! Remember?!' LOL!
I've been crying of laughter. Your laughter actually 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I can't stop binge watching your channel (which is awesome to follow your first time experience on some of these movies), but daaaaamn, seeing you enjoy yourself is so much better than just watching the actual scenes, LOL 😜
Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm trying hard to make AWESOME content for everyone. Forrest Gump coming out Friday. Consider my Patreon for my FULL reactions. The whole movie. I have to CUT A LOT out of these reactions. For $5 you get everything.
I’m with your kids: That you have never seen this movie on your 3 tv channels growing up is a (Xmas) miracle! (‘cause it use to play in every tv market every Xmas since it came out for television in the 80s 🤣) But I’m glad you hadn’t since I knew this one was gonna make you bust a guy laughing! 👍
I was going to wait to watch this at Christmas time this year (since I only recently found your channel). But, after a few weeks seeing it stare me in the face as I scrolled through which reaction to watch next... I just couldn't wait anymore. Always one of my favorite comedies and favorite Chevy Chase movies. The entire Vacation series is fun times. Ray Charles - "The Spirit of Christmas". First time hearing it was seeing this movie back in like '90. It's been my #1 favorite Christmas song since.
The house in the old family home movies was the house from Bewitched. The Griswold family home is the same as Murtaugh's in the Lethal Weapon franchise. Had to watch your reaction again!
Just watched your review on this again and I can honestly say if you did a poll on your reviews of the year this would be top🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 play ball🤣🤣😂😂😂😂
I have watch your reaction videos and I can honestly say your the best you tuber on and i can’t stop laughing at your reactions merry Xmas to you and your family 🎄🎄🎄🎄
That was really fun. That movie always is fun. I love e Chevy Chases slapstick comedy. He acts with his face and his whole body. Here’s one you might enjoy ; “Funny Farm” with Chevy Chase. That one had me rolling on the floor. Too funny. Happy new year
This is the third film in the National Lampoons Vacation films. It goes Vacation, European Vacation, Christmas Vacation, and Vegas Vacation. Theirs also a Reboot Vacation film following the son and his family. Fun fact the children are always recast in each film. In this film the son is played by Johnny Galecki from series The Big Bang Theory, Roseanne, & reprised his character from Roseanne in a few episodes of its Reboot series The Conners.
I really do love this movie it was one of those movies me and my dad always watched every Christmas on the couch this one A Christmas Story and Home Alone we're always reruns on television
Hahaha thanks for funny review😂 this was great. If I can make a suggestion here and I'm not sure anybody ever said it but I'd love it if you saw"My blue heaven" with Steve Martin.
Merry Christmas! 🎅 🎄 This is actually the 3rd movie of the series and the kids are re-cast every time. While I can't stop you from watching them all, I only recommend the first two and the most recent one (it's actually not as bad as critics make it out to be). The rest are not funny. Fun Fact: After Clark Griswold unsuccessfully attempts to demonstrate his handiwork with the house Christmas lights to his family, he asks Rusty to help him check all the light bulbs again. Rusty looks at his bare wrist, pretending to have a watch, and excuses himself. Looking at a bare wrist and pretending to have a watch is one of Chevy Chase's trademark gags. Bonus Fun Fact: Final film of Mae Questel, whose film career began in 1930, as the voice of Betty Boop. Pour a glass of eggnog for the legend.
Boo boo be doop...loved the crazy aunt too. Wasnt she the voice of Betty Boop in the cartoons ? Another great fun reaction.seeing the movie for the first time...again😅
This third film in the franchise is my favorite, although the original with John Candy was truly great! You've seen Clark's boss as the mayor in Groundhog Day, and Eddie in Independence Day.
Great review. Glad to see you enjoyed it this much. You should watch the 1951 A Christmas Carol staring Alistair Sim. One of the best Christmas movies ever and the best version of A Christmas Carol
I prefer 1938 with Reginald Owen. I like Gene Lockhart and his real wife and they even threw in June Lockhart as one of the little Cratchetts. But definitely watch A Christmas Story. I watch that every year now.
Maybe no pools in Iowa because the land is too precious for farming? :P But as Minnesotan I know several people who have in ground pools. Yeah, you only get to use it from like April (MAYbe) through September if you're lucky.
Ellen ( expertly acted by Beverly D'Angelo ) is the ever-supportive wife of Clark that calls him, Sparky and for passionate reasons, is many a man's dream team partner!
Those aren't sewers that Eddie is dumping poo in, those are storm drains for rain water and such. The sewer system is in the middle of the streets only accessible thru manholes. Two totally separate systems. thank you
Your editor cut so much out of this it almost wasn't worth it, but you crack me up-your voice, you're half a Muppet as it is, and when you get going it's twice as hilarious, so, we approve. (I actually have kept a few of your reactions because they're such a good time. Not for the editing skills.) I hate to think what else you've cut out of this, but I have no choice. I have to watch.
