I hate McGruder has left the show. There are so many things this show can poke fun of right now. The black police officer hitting on a teenage girl from his squad car. The Donald Sterling controversy, the NFL protests, the Presidential Race, and etc. Those aren't even the good things I can think of right now. I know there are more funnier controversies.

He wanted them to conform to HIS schedule, and his schedule put Black Jesus first. The guy doesn't know how to balance two things at once, and thought he was hot shot enough that they would do whatever he wanted.
They should have brought on better people to continue the show with.
Even if he was rude behind the scenes, they basically took what he created and made it what they wanted. Season 4 was wack because they didn’t have the man behind the great idea.

Adultswim, AS, can be so Bi-Polar. On one hand, they give artist like Aaron McGruder a chance to create something as wonderful as the Boondocks. Then the next minute when there's a contract dispute, they kick them out the door and take everything they've created.
They did THE EXACT SAME THING to the creator of Metalocalypse, Brendon Smalls. Brendon wanted a smaller season for the series finale of the show, but AS wanted a bigger season. So as another example of a contract dispute, they kick Brendon out the door. Now Metalocalpse will never be finished.

Weren't there disputes with Sony (the main production company) about scheduling and deadlines? If Adult Swim had problems with the show, they wouldn't have greenlit Black Jesus right after MacGruder was kicked out from Sony

Fact 97 makes it seem like Adult Swim was the trigger man in firing Aaron McGruder.
That being said, I know Brendon Smalls directly got the short end of the stick from AS when he did an interview with IGN on the "Up at Noon" Show. So it's still a love/hate thing for Adult Swim.
Heck, AS and Cartoon Network are known to just drop shows before they're finished, or if the creators still have many story ideas. Dave Willis still had a lot of ideas for Aqua Teen, yet AS canceled it. He has noted that he wants to continue the show on another network or online.
And then there's the original Teen Titans and Young Justice. Teen Titans just abruptly ended, and there was hints of a season 3 storyline at the end of season 2 for Young Justice.

Everything about Boondocks is top notch - the comedy, the voice acting, the animation, the music. Glad their reviving it, but they're going to have a hard time replacing John Witherspoon!

+Ambree NP (Breekachu) I've watched a bunch of these 107 facts videos about things I like and I found in almost all of them the same wonky mispronunciations. I think the narrators are just reading a script quickly without being fully aware of all the source material and nobody is really bothering to double-check. These are just made to get views, not to give tons of insightful, exclusive information.
It reminds me of when I used to actually get real paper magazines in the mail about video games and stuff and I'd see tons and tons of minor typos and mistakes and I would get really upset that there are real people who are getting paid to make this and here I am doing super-boring jobs when I could be the guy in that office making sure those idiots put out a correct product without basic spelling and grammar and typographical mistakes.

That's because Aaron McGruder the creator and drawer of the cartoon series left after the third season. He was asked to dumb it down and not be very political. Rather than compromise his work and disappoint fans, he chose to quit. Fourth season was terrible.

I found this to be the most interesting one you have done. I'm big fan of Boondocks, so this made my day. I had no idea, about most of these facts. Including the fight scenes.
They also used part of the fight scene between sasuke and orochimaru from naruto. It resembles the moves exactly and I just love both the shows so it's simply amazing
I'm kinda' surprised McGruder's name didn't gain as much traction as it did, considering how well-known the Boondocks are - the show kinda' feels just as influential Avatar was in the early 2000s.
The Boondocks will come back. It was wayyy before its time. If I were him i would definitely keep writing.
So sad when this show ended. It has a special place in my heart because it was one of the ways my dad and I used to bond a lot of the time. 😕😞

On Fact 74, I think you got Gangstalicious mixed up with Bushido Brown.
I was first introduced to this show when I was around 11, my parents went on vacation for a month and left me with my black neighbors, at this time it came on before a show I watched on adult swim and my neighbors happened to watch Boondocks and so I was included in the weekly family watching of Boondocks. I enjoyed it enough, wasnt quite old enough to understand the topics it covered fully but I did over all like it. Unfortunately my parents didnt like it when i tried watching it at home and they blocked the show.
Now that I know its 55 episodes long perhaps I will set aside a week or two and binge watch it, after all im in my 20s now, I doubt the parental ban of the show has any weight now XD
