It's like when my oldest, who just left for college from California to North Carolina. I am as sad as any parent would be, but it's the next step in my child's growth and as hard as it was to see them go, I am happy for their growth in life.
Lizzy came across as nothing but pure kindness and a good, old fashioned, work ethic, qualities we should want in any daughter of our own.

Lizzy was always a contributor to the show. Matt did seem like a father to her. I do miss seeing her in the videos. I do hope Matt has some surprise visits planned.
I always thought that was his daughter. Her welding skills and hard work attitude will go far in ranching. It is incredibly difficult to make a living in ranching these days.
I'm glad for her leaving the nest, so to speak, so that she can have the dream of her life with her husband. I'm sure that she will be using her abilities on the ranch to keep the equipment in good working order. Being able to weld is a valuable asset in a ranch scenario.
I sure hope so that would be fantastic. The other girl is there.

Lizzy was a true inspiration to many young girls out there showing the I can it do it too attitude. She showed how girls can get into the trades and be successful at doing it. I would like to see her start a youtube channel on horses and ranching.
Women can do anything, and Lizzy showed why. I suspect she also got some unwanted attentions too.

That being said, if you had a member close to you and your family and business, would you or would you not support them on moving forward in their life? Especially if they are young? Are you really that upset Rudy and lizzy left?
You HAVE to leave the shop you were trained or cut your teeth at. You will never be looked At anything other then the shop apprentice. It also makes room for the next apprentice to be trained. At my shop you are welcome to come back if you left like an adult on good terms.

It made sense that she was leaving since she had been spending less and less time recently on recoveries or working on projects. Good for her that she’s moving on to do what she loves to do.

You say marriage young is stupid...yet older generations that married young(like 18 years old commonly) stayed together for their entire lives more often. Growing together, building a life together, experiencing firsts of life together, many things that make the marriage even stronger. It even goes against biology to wait until your 30's to get married and have children. Your simple thoughts about college and marriage are not exactly gospel.
@Jon-nz3dm Where I live there are tons of homeless people as in thousands. I bet they said the same thing I don't need a education or a trade until Covid came along and now there in a cardboard box. Get a good trade or education they find a woman. Getting married as a kid is not wise as you change a tremendous amount between age 20 and 40. I spent my youth on Denali in Alaska skiing and flying into glaciers and climbing nonstop. I'd never change anything. Those young married people were at home sucking there thumb and I didn't see them anywhere then they had kids and more jobs and did nothing but raise brats. Cool beans get married at 16 let's see where it gets ya.

I really hope her husband didn't give her an ultimatum on leaving the channel. I remember seeing episodes where she was looking down... I REALLY hope she isn't being manipulated by a narc. She's such a nice person. Anything bad happens to get she'll have all of Matt's 1.6m subscribers out looking for her.

I too am sad that we will not see Lizzie on Matt's channel, but so happy for her and her husband for the future. For sure Lizzie is a young lady that any father would be proud of, and of course her family and friends, and her own private life must come first.

She loves the ranch and roping more than MORR
Alot of this is due too her new marriage as well.
Her family is part of a very conservative large Mormon cluster in Southern Utah. There were times when she had to quickly leave recoveries out of fear she would miss church. Her marriage was very much an arranged match between two St George Morman families where you are expected to be married at 18 and have 8 kids. But we have to appreciate that it would have been impossible for her to escape this situation, and thats a fact. So best of luck to her.

I think Lizzy has chops, good personality, comfortable around a camera, skilled fabricator, end easy on the eyes. I believe that she could be the next Jessi Combs with a little work.
my first thoughts were that if she was to be able to do the ranching she'd have to be able to walk......Matt towing her through the desert in an abandoned car at high speeds (a recovery some few months back), when there was no wheels on the car, was incredibly reckless.....so for her next career personal/commercial insurance would be important, and if the insurance companies saw that video, she may not be eligible...just my observation....not to mention her husbands reaction to seeing that vid
