What I love about Amos is that everything he plays serve the song. Nothing is overplayed or « show off ». Just that absolute balance of technique, groove and humbleness. I’m a massive tesseract fan because of him
In total love as always! Mos I had given up on playing bass for 5 years (after 15 years in bands) and when I first started getting into youtube your playthroughs truly were the thing that made me go out and get a 5 string thumb and an amp and for the first time and spend countless hours learning my favourite songs. Watching you in these videos brings me back to an awesome time in my life. Such a joy to see once again. As you said so well..I can play the notes but the intricacies and the why and how you add them is what makes it special. Thankyou for sharing this stuff. it really is a great gift!
This is great. Cool to get an insight on your thought processes. I gotta say that being able to hear the recorded backing vocals without the lead is something I love as well!
What do you recommend for having similar bass tone as you have: Precision, Jazz bass or MusicMan Stingray if you needed to choose between the three? Or is it a piezo magic?
i wish mic was closer, so hard to hear what you're saying comparing to the bass sound and overall music. but sick playing and sound of your bass, been a fan of Tesseract for a quite some time by now!! you guys absolutely rock! amazing stuff
I never realized the drop where the drums and everything else comes in was tracked in 7/8 and 4. It'd always counted it as 4/4 or 8/8, but it's SO much easier to count the drums and particularly the snare pattern as four groups of 7 and a group of 4.
That’s so strange, I never noticed the pegs being so close together that you have to wrap the b the opposite way. I wonder why not make the headstock bigger ya know? Thanks for the video homie sounds great per usual take care!
I believe it's a weight saving measure, as a persistent injury from Amos' past demands he play as light an instrument as possible. Even if it causes little niggles here and there, the more weight that can be saved the better.
Amos definitely should record podcasts or audiobooks. Man I could listen to him for hours. Such a djentleman
Haha I see you

Of Matter is one of the most important moments of the last decade.
This is about the most fun a fellow can have with his trousers on
@doggo a Tesseract show in Cape Town 2017 saved my soul...so yes I totally understand!
You listen to Amos with trousers on?
You skipped the best part of smile 😢
And not a single comment on that red nose a d the bottle of wine behind 😂

Amos streaming is the best
The yoda of base playing. 😊

Amos is such a great guy
Smile is one of my favorites… what a pleasant video to watch. Thanks Tesseract for doing all these videos.
I'm a straight man, but...
Double pop? Why did this never occur to me? I have so much to learn. Teach me sensei.
Brbr deng

this video shows how jazzy the band really is. really cool nuances in the music.
And that is how one plays Of Matter, upon one's bass 🖤🤘🏻

The bass line around the 34:00 mark is fantastically haunting :D
Amos! As in Portals set, are you barefooted when doing lives?
He's always barefoot in a live show. Check the TesseracT podcast (hosted by Jay) episode with Amos. He explains why he does what he does :)
His shoes just look like feet
I love that you call it the Protest the Hero riff @31:20
