If people ask me who my guitar heroes are. I always say Justin's name first, cause he taught me how to play guitar. I love videos like this because it puts things together and then allows you to expand on the concept. Thank you again for another great video :-)
I started playing guitar when I was 9... I'm 42 now.. all of my lessons was between the ages of 9 and 15. All four of my teachers had a great sense of blues music. My dad really enjoyed the blue's. Over the years I haven't played as much as I really wish I would had.. but out of everything I had learned to play, blues rhythm and some of this worked in lead was something that was totally ingrained into my blood! I absolutely love it! I just wish I could play more lead! I truly believe your videos will help me! Definitely enjoy them! 😊
Hey Justin, this is the lesson I needed to improve, simple, achievable, mixing blues licks with rhythm, that opens the door to variation and expansion. Thank You. I would sure like to see more like this one.
Thanks Justin I remember watching your videos over 15 years ago and have been watching on an of ever since..This video really made sense thanks a lot looking forward to getting back into guitar again
God I'm so excited for the day where I dont have to look where my hands are and just feel the music with my eyes closed. Beautiful stuff Justin. Thanks for everything :)
Just keep practicing and don't ever be afraid to just GO SLOW! Doing it RIGHT over and over again is far far far better than doing it wrong. So the more you get accustomed to putting your fingers in the correct spot while watching them the more and faster you will build that muscle memory. This is almost totally the case when chording but you'll find too that even just working short licks in that over time just watching where your going that eventually your fingers and your hand.. and your thumb position will just feel the direction it needs to go. Much of this is stuff that even the best instructors can never train you.. they can show you a path to go.. but its really YOU building what fits you! But just keep going and keep it simple at first. So you always play what you intend to play. From there it will be far easier to add in the extras. Good luck! 😀

Great Lesson and interestingly I made a comment on another Blues lesson you gave recently that I was learning the jug band song " Stealing", and this lesson helps with that as well. Thanks.
Yeah. Same here. The licks and riff lesson gave more some confidence on mastering beginner blues...but this one, playing lead notes in the blues rhythm takes on another level of accuracy mixed with groove. Gonna keep trying!!
Beautiful, but is counting necessary when I get into the lick part? I learned it and I only thought of counting shuffle, and it worked with me with licks
@@keithpennington6141 thanks, any songs that sound good on classic. Im practicing Spanish romance right now but it's not sounding quite right on steel strings imo. Not that im a great player yet either.
Hello. I just started going through beginner lessons 1. as i was quickly skimming through different modules, i am wondering if doing these lessons would translate to fingerstyle because i see most are just strumming based. Or fingerstyle requires a whole different set of learning? Don't really wanna play and sing 😅.
Hey I’ve paid for the app and I’ve been using it for severally months. But I feel I’m falling off. It can get rather lonely and dull. I don’t have anyone to play with/bounce technique off of. Any tips to just keep going?
website link is broken, thanks, sounds like a very cool thing to learn, I'm right at the beginning of the blue s course, blues are not my thing though.
I can play the pentatonic scale on minor and major but I couldn't come out with a bleusy melody I'm still playing it like regular chromatic any help please ?
Thanks man for providing this awesome video's for such a long time now. Wat i realy would like to learn is how to use your ringfinger to mute the chords at the start of the basic progression. You do it at the 7 second mark of the video. Is there some sort of exercise for that?

How would I set a metronome to help me keep time on this?

I bought a classic guitar and it's arriving soon. Yamaha C40, what are some things i should know when coming from steel strings?
The spacing will be wider, that’s the main difference. Bending the strings will generally cause them to go out of tune. Hmu if you want more tips.

Question, are we playing the minor of major pentatonic on these licks? I seem to think its the major. PS are you in a Sauna.
