Really enjoyed the chase down the Tharwa River and I think it’s the best chase out of all your videos. So Lucky to have a Fab landscape like that and I know you have to travel to it. Brilliant Stuff.
Awesome flight. I’ve been flying multirotors for several years and recently these atomrc planes have peaked my interest. Your video sold me. I just ordered a Dolphin and will toss in a spare walksnail system I have sitting here.
Amongst some of the amazing things about this flight is how in hells bells are you managing to get the telemetry and video back over such topography and distances?!
I try not to be a fanboy on expensive upgrades... but for me, digital totally changed the FPV experience to being an immersive, vibrant, high resolution view of the world in flight. Seeing fine details in the moment and choosing to fly accordingly, rather than only picking up on things later when reviewing HD cam footage, is just amazing. 😇
Very nice, how long can you fly on a fully charged battery pack? Also what is the cost for a plane and needed setup to fly like this (all things, plane, radio, goggles, everything), is it very expensive?
I usually fly for around 35 mins at 70kph on the Li-Ion 4200mah 4S packs I made. Cost really depends on how much you decide to spend on the gear. Digital FPV from scratch is the most expensive part, with goggles for $350-600 USD depending on what you pick and whether you go second hand, and a digital transmitter/camera is $100-200 depending on what system and option you pick, plus long range directional antennas for the goggles add a bit more but is worth it for range - another $50-100. Or old 'skool analogue goggles and VTX, second hand even, you could pick up for $150-$300 if you shop around and depending on how cheap and basic you are willing to go. Directional antennas may come with a second hand kit, but otherwise add $20-70 for cheap patch or good TrueRC crosshair antennas. Radio transmitter with inbuilt ELRS long range receiver, and a receiver, anywhere from $150-400 depending on what you choose. The plane kit, motor, props, 2x servos, GPS, flight controller - again, depends on how good or cheap you go, but probably looking at $250-$300. Then some flight batteries, again, huge price range here too - let's say $40 for one set. So... there's a huge amount of variables, and postage can be a killer if you have to order from overseas. An analogue build with cheap parts, cheap goggles, radio, motor, etc you could probably get away with for $650-700 USD. Go digital FPV, and you're more like $1000-1300 USD for the package. And if everything I'm talking about is new to you - soldering flight controllers, setting up INAV, ELRS, FPV kit, flying a plane at all, it's going to be a very big learning curve needing a lot of research and patience.
@@ZaksterBlue Almost. I'm just at Conder. Great video. Explore the top of Castle Hill next time. It's a bit of a granite boulder wonderland up there. It's the big hill on the road from Tharwa to Tidbinbilla. Behind where you were sitting in this video, actually. 😊
@@ZaksterBlue Yep. Nailed it. Those two big outcrops just down from the main peak are like 4 - 5 stories high. You don't realise how big they are until your up next to them.

Thanks, Terry! Very fortunate with flying options here.
Thank you for leaving the sound in. I like to hear what the aircraft feels.
The best FPV fly. The landscape is amazing.the fly is more stable. I love the dolphin. Congrats!!
Thank you for the comment! 🙂
6:00 - Good views on the river flight. Exciting low-level formation flying too!
7:05 - Excellent under the bridge action!

Excellent! They are a very versatile plane.
*piqued lol and yeah these planes are awesome
Very nice, love the low flying formation along the river
Love the river run.
Great work. Loved it. Some dangerous climbing spots near Tharwa that would be great to hike to and film from above. like a mud map for climbers.
@@michaelb7559 thanks! Glad it was enjoyable/useful.
Beautiful scenery!
Beautiful landscape, looks just like Arizona but with trees, grass. and water.
Lol, just like!
Your flying is becoming more and more high precision but can't help expecting the inevitable 🤭😱😱 Fantastic as always chaps👍👍
We've had plenty of close ones. :)
Awesome!!!
Awesome flight! Seems like a great place to fly too. Landing is my least favorite part, lol.
Thanks! Was a fun spot for sure.
great video and epic flight💯.......thumbs up👍👍
Very cool! What kind of Tx/Rx are you using for the plane?
Happymodel ELRS module in my Taranis, and various ELRS receivers. It's nice having telemetry back to the radio.

We would only have used half the range available on the DJI FPV video system on this flight. 🙂
@@ZaksterBlue Blimey!
You are flying very low over the river, I am surprised that you do not lose the radio and video signal.
We were sitting on a hill with line of sight 🙂
Awesome video. How far did you go?
Not that far on this flight, only around 3km 🙂
you got me motivated to get back out more. Curious of what you are running for video?
Do it! 🙂 using DJI FPV (v1) and still love it after two years.
@@ZaksterBlue ahh yes I see ! I still haven't made that digital jump.

I would like to try it out but i maybe find someone to show me and try it first.
how do you fly so far without losing control? (im not super familiar wiht FPV but im learning haha)
ELRS or crossfire radio systems are pretty long range, plus give you telemetry data back to your radio.
Uçakta kullanilan malzemeleri yazabilirimisiniz.
