    Good choice on gaskets! I find that using the high temp exhaust grade rtv around the ports helps with backpressure from turbocharger as well.

      Yea I keep high temp copper on the shelf. ;) Thanks again for the gasket suggestion. Ive actually been working on cleaning the garage tonight. Im tired of not being able to get shit done due to rain.

    All factory gaskets are good and will hold up after all chevy did build factory race engines when the LS engine came into the picture

    I was lucky enough to have the GM part number 12551595 block off plate. this has a boss you can drill and tap.

  • @BrockJaden
    @BrockJaden 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'm surprised you tapped the pan while it was still on the engine.

    • @BadLuckGarage
      @BadLuckGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lol, not a big deal really. Where it’s tapped at doesn’t usually hav oil in that area. As mentioned in the video, use grease to catch the shavings, then more grease on a q-tip to dab around for anything that might have fallen in, then flush the rest into bottom of pan, drain oil, and refill. Anything else will be caught by the filter. 😉

    A de-buring tool works great and is very inexpensive at Lowe’s.

    Why wouldnt you take the oil pan off then drill the hole rather than "hoping" the shavings comes out with the oil? Seems wild to me

      @BadLuckGarage  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea I barely get any time to work in things for the channel and when I do get time it's usually raining, lol. I guess maybe I should clean the garage out. Then the rain wouldn't be an issue. 😂

    I have a t76 that I’ll be installing. Going with a -4an line. It’s a journal bearing turbo so i don’t think I need an oil restrictor neither do I want to go with a feed flange that bolts down on the turbo. Just wondering what size fitting did you use to feed the turbo. The fitting screwed down on the turbo feed side

    • @BadLuckGarage
      @BadLuckGarage  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Eric. It’s been awhile but I believe it was a -4 fitting. Links for all the parts used for this project can be found in the description of this video so you can know all the specifications. 👍🏻

      There are also individual videos for each part of the build in the budget turbo c10 playlist giving more detailed information in the parts and how we built and put everything together. 👍🏻

    I have the oil fed adapter you said not to use but mine sits pretty flush maybe less than an 1/8in protruding past the flush point... think I'll be alright?

    • @BadLuckGarage
      @BadLuckGarage  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As long as you're not having to screw in the line so far that it blocks or restricts oil flow then you should be fine. If you haven't watched the video in question, my issue was that I could not get the fitting to stop leaking without screwing it in further and since the plate was so thin it blocked the oil flow to the engine. That is why I dont recommend the thin plates.

    Wat seller you get the oil feed piece from?

    • @BadLuckGarage
      @BadLuckGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello MRAJLOPEZ20, Thanks for watching! Are you referring to the feed line or the bypass adapter?

    • @BadLuckGarage
      @BadLuckGarage  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The bypass adapter came from "lsxinnovations". The feed line came from "speed_daddy". Both are sellers on ebay. Hope that answers your question.

    how long of an oil feed line did you end up getting and work well?

    • @BadLuckGarage
      @BadLuckGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s been almost five years and I’ve done four other builds since then so I had nearly don’t remember measurements. But you’ll find a video in the turbo C10 playlist on this channel that lists every pet used and has links to all of them in the description. It’s titled”how much does it cost to turbo an LS” or something like that. But on the Chaos Theory Camaro build last year I made my own custom length lines with braided PTFE lines from FassterLLC. There’s a playlist for that build as well.
