    There’s a lot to be said about used military trucks converted to engines here in Southern Oregon we had them and they were Real good . That one time our main engines at my station was a used military I carried 700 gallons of water and a nice monitor we could knock that fire out.

    I have a 1983 M923A0 with a 2,500 Gallon water tank on the back that had completely replaced the cargo bed when the truck was owned by a fire department,it is not built up or guarded like the M923A2 in this video.Two of my trucks however have bumper guards and cages surrounding the cab area.One is a 1970 M35A2,and the other is a 1971 M813A1 which has seen a very rough life and I'm in the process of repairing it to normal status.Two fire departments here in Texas have a M923A1 and M1078 LMTV that they use.I also spotted in this video that I saw what looks to be a M49A2.

      Yes they can,a Fire Department here in Texas has a M1078 LMTV,theirs only has a water tank put on the cargo bed.I have worked on it myself because one of the truck's Air Actuators had come apart and it kept slipping from the T Bolt while it was almost hanging next to the Axle.

      Those ARE military heavy duty off road rigs. On the west coast you see a mix of those and Skidgines from the volunteer departments. Not as deeply armored against whipping branches though. way fewer crew since the population density does not support it inmost places west maybe 3 or 4 at most.

      +Andy Elkins That looks like a M939 5 ton. Parts for the M35A2 are becoming more difficult to find since they've been phased out by the DOD. So more M939 are going into service through the FEPP program.

      +Andy Elkins not sure brother, sorry. You'd have to contact the Gordon Heights F.D. for that info., it's their rig. ;-)

    4:25 is that a Confederate flag on a fire truck on Long Island? Yikes, for many reasons

      @@LiHotShots Because the Confederate Flag was for the Confederacy. Long Island is in New York.

    • @LiHotShots
      @LiHotShots  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      bg1379 that’s very true. Did you know that NY was going to secede to the confederate side at the out break of the civil war, but switched to the union side at the last moment? Also, the confederate flag is also considered the “Rebel Flag” and you don’t have to be a southerner to be a “Rebel” 😁😁 behindthescenes.nyhistory.org/when-new-york-wanted-to-secede/
