The wildest route I've seen in this game yet! Hitting the exact 100M mark while skipping the plant entirely, a post-boss interlude skip by sequence breaking, doing areas 2 and 3 at the same time, and skipping the Sealed Room (which has no Boo, I forgot!) entirely by clipping into Sou Pea's area.
This makes for a wonderful viewing experience! The little tricks, the satisfying animations of sucking up all the ghosts, the spooky atmosphere and the fact it's only an hour long makes this one of the most enjoyable mario tases I've seen in a while!
Dang the way y'all use TAS makes me wonder who's the real ghost in this game. It's like the haunter becomes the haunted. These ghosts should be afraid of Luigi.
What gets me with every Luigi’s mansion speedrun is the one second of cutscene every so often that shows the outside of the mansion, just something about the half second of ominous music is funny to me
"Hello, Ghostbusters." "Yes, hello, I just moved into an old mansion in a dark forest, I'm with my buddies for a housewarming, and there's a green plumber cycling through the floors. I think he's looking for his lost brother, we don't know what to do."
Would be very difficult to pull off since you need to dupe every piece of money in the game. This TAS makes use of a glitch where if Luigi touches a piece of money and vaccumes it on the same frame, it’ll count as double, but it mostly goes for the items worth the most like the pearls. A max money TAS would have to do that for every piece of money in the game.
This shit is awesome. However I am curious. There were some of the gems and speedy spirits/ gold mice you didn’t get right? Makes me curious what the fastest time to the most money possible in a TAS could be. I also forgot to mention that I absolutely loved when you blinked the flashlight in sync with the song or like burned that random door just goofy shit that was funny to see in a TAS made for a great video
I feel like the addition of 'Mario enemies' was more welcome for the longevity of the game. Like the fact that King Boo has since been cemented as Luigi's nemesis, like Bowser to Mario. It gave it that bit of charm it needed to be remembered and loved all this time. Having to collect almost all the boos to finish the main game was a poor decision though, yeah.
Puts Megamaid's Vaccu-suck to shame. Rename that puppy to the ghost-gobbler. It honestly surprised me how many rooms are apparently kept fully loaded. For some reason when I played this game I thought it pretty much just kept the current room loaded in and de-spawned ghosts the second you went through the door. Really pushing the Gamecube to its limits.
Due to the amount of information that's in the TAS itself the runner created an audio commentary (in the description) that pauses to explains what's going on. That sort of information won't translate as well to something that's a third of its length.
It's weird for me to see Mario in the painting in High Res... But I guess that's a japanese thing, because I swear in PAL is he displayed the way he is here at the very end.
Yes. This is the fastest time this game has been completed 100% on Hidden Mansion. Note that Hidden Mansion is basically "new game plus". Read the author's submission notes for an explanation of why this was done (basically, it skips the tutorial area and skips many mandatory cutscenes).
The RTA timing for this TAS is 54:30. The current human WR is a 1:06:42 by Snap

I'm amazed how you destroyed some of the bosses! Some of those bosses took me a bit when I played for the first time.
31:13 holy f--
15:25 that was AWESOME

18:00 That poor gem...
36:10 That one too...
50:20-50:30 That's literally me how I walk to school.😂
52:00 The poor chest...
WOOO! MERRY CHRISTMAS!
6:44 that was so satisfying 😂

Known Like Terror Assist Spooky
Wish there were more 7th gen tas stuff (Wii/Ps3/360)
Would be great if there was a max money tas

@@ezgames6925 Maybe without the "double"-glitch?
@@ezgames6925 Max% is a category, but doesn't include dupes! Nobody has really discussed max% with all dupes, it's just way too hard.
Was thinking it could be done without dupe glitch
Agreed. Skipping all that money hurt me

Gonna be honest, including the Mario boos just feels like a double mandate to pad the game and to ground the game to "something Mario".
I feel like the addition of 'Mario enemies' was more welcome for the longevity of the game. Like the fact that King Boo has since been cemented as Luigi's nemesis, like Bowser to Mario. It gave it that bit of charm it needed to be remembered and loved all this time.

i mean the mansion is literally a Ghost House from Super Mario World.
Luigi wishes you a happy haunted holiday!

Isn’t it so cool that he sometimes flashed the light to the dark rooms theme? also an overall cool-ass speedrun ngl
I miss when these had commentaries in the CC

Those take a considerable amount of effort to make. Unfortunately, it just isn't reasonable to add that to every video that needs it.
Someone TASed AI The Somnium Files? Didn't expect that Someone would actually do that.
It's weird for me to see Mario in the painting in High Res... But I guess that's a japanese thing, because I swear in PAL is he displayed the way he is here at the very end.
That is actually just an Emulator bug that doesn't load the filter correctly. Currently no version that fixes this I believe.
@@kaiirunz57 Good to know.
6:40 HOW ?!?😮😧
Six piece isn’t too hard to do just takes practice
Wait, how is he getting two big pearls from the portrait ghosts?
🧐
Is this the new TAS wr?
no, I'm way faster
I beat the game in 6 seconds, this is nothing

Play the PAL one its way better since its an actual challenge
my bad
@@NEVERDOORS still a good tas just to let you know
