    Wow, I’m not a SUV person but this is the one I would buy. It almost looks like a work of art. I don’t think it could get better looking. Also, you have a great style of reviewing, you seem to point out a lot of things I would want to know if I purchased one. You explain things so well. I always appreciate your reviews!

    Excellent review !! I bought my GV70 3.5 Sport Prestige for two reasons; I love the design language inside and out, and the HUGE difference between comfort mode and sport/sport+, like two vehicles in one. The GV70 has won so many awards/accolades for a reason, an all around excellent, beautiful SUV

    I can’t wait to get my GV70 Sport Prestige before Christmas. Trading in my BMW X3 M40i which I still love but it just does not have nearly as much of the features that this SUV has an I have every option that I could get in that trim. I feel like there is finally a vehicle that really balances out luxury and sportiness as I have always imagined any vehicle should be. Just a very awesome looking and driving vehicle. Thanks for the great review.

      You won't be disappointed, I love my Uyuni white on red/charcoal Sport Prestige, I've owned Germans and Jags, the GV70 belongs in that company, quality is outstanding. Mileage is not great but I drive briskly and expected it, it's a head-turner !~!~!

    My mom is in the market for a vehicle similar to this and I had her check out the GV70, but it had a couple of glaring issues that don't make a lot of sense, mainly in regards to the feature set on the smaller engine. There's a number of features that simply aren't available on the 2.5, which is the model that actually competes with the Q5, X3, GLB/GLC, and RDX. For example, even in the 53k 2.5 Sport Prestige, you can't get a heated steering wheel unless you go for the mid package on the 3.5 v6. It actually wound up that for the features my mom is interested in, the 2.5 GV80 is cheaper than a similarly featured GV70 (because you don't HAVE to get the 3.5 on the GV80 to get some of the luxury features). Though I can't argue with the design objectives of Genesis at the moment (RWD architectures and ample power on every model), it feels like the Acura products at the moment really are giving the best VALUE luxury (if you don't mind the controls and non-touchscreen infotainment). I'd be interested in what an RDX Type-S would look like and be priced at compared to the 3.5 GV70. There's also the whole Hyundai/Genesis dealership experience that I don't understand how it's nearly universally bad. I've heard reviewers talk about it, but I couldn't believe it was as bad as it was until I went to the highest reviewed Hyundai/Genesis dealer in my state of 10-15 dealerships, and was still shocked at how genuinely insulted we felt while walking away. We've always been an Audi/Mercedes/Lexus family, and never had an experience even close to how bad the multiple times the Genesis dealer was.
    It's all a shame, because I do really love the look, the design, and the objectives of Genesis's sportier options, but I think the selling points begin to fall apart on the more value engines and trims.

    • @OutMotorsports
      @OutMotorsports  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good call on the feature offerings - based on the engine you prefer (and thus Q5 or SQ5, four or six cyl X3, etc) it does make things tough at points. Acura is doing good things lately and their infotainment is pretty easy to use on the move, the touchpad implementation is slick.
      Genesis claims the benefit of their brand is that you never have to deal with a dealership after your purchase as they bring you loaners and get/drop off your car for service and repairs. We have a friend with a G70 who loves this, but that doesn't speak to the initial purchase experience. Sorry to hear your dealership visit wasn't so great!

    It’s not based on the G70 chassis I don’t know why so many of these reviews say the same thing. Your homework on this will find the numerous differences on the geometry and components. The engineers that configured this vehicle will appreciate it.

    • @johnholst
      @johnholst 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're right that it's not exactly the same because they had to modify it slightly for SUV duty. But it is based on the G70 chassis.

    • @gasstation405
      @gasstation405 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@johnholst No it's not. It's on the M3 platform that underpins the new G80 and GV80. That's how they're able to turn it into an EV.

    • @johnholst
      @johnholst 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gasstation405 Well, I'm not trying to have an argument friend. But all literature says otherwise. Even the Genesis rep I spoke to at the Genesis experience in Gangnam told me it was based on the G70. If you believe otherwise, please share your source.

    • @gasstation405
      @gasstation405 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@johnholst You'll have to show me your source since even Genesis's own site calls it a "new platform." Nowhere in any press material has Genesis said this is based on the G70 platform. Korean reviewers examining the chassis have all labelled it as the M3 platform and mention it being identical to the GV80's platform barring the strut front suspension.
      The "idea" of the GV70 may have been to make an SUV equivalent of the G70 but mechanically the two have nothing in common. As it should be since the G70's platform is based on the ancient 2015 Hyundai Genesis sedan.

      Hey Justin! Thanks for stopping by. Yes, this is all a _huge grift_ and you have blown the operation wide open - congratulations on your expert detective work. This GV70 is one of 47 new vehicles from 20+ OEMs that we drove in 2021, precisely zero of which were just handed out without merit. Showing >100% growth YoY is a fabulous way to work with automakers, though they do expect some return on their costs, which we seem to have satisfied given they keep sending cars our way.
      Anyway, thanks for the ad revenue, it's not enough to live off of yet so this is all a side gig until more people watch our useless drivel. And if you're curious, Money For Nothing is a fantastic song to use for sound system evaluation. As always, feed your system good source material from Apple Music or Tidal, none of this 128 kbps Spotify garbage.

    Great review and informative. The GV70 3.5T is to a Porsche Macan as my MAZDA GT Reserve 2.5 T is to an ACURA RDX, i.e. great quality & value that comes very VERY close to the "upscale" competition.
    For example I have AWD, 250 HP, 310 ft. lbs. of torque, heads up display, blind spot warning, adaptive cruise, lane keeping, rear cross traffic warning, headlights turn with steering, heated and cooled front seats, heated rear seats, steering wheel, rear view mirrors and windshield wipers and much more. And ALL for US $37,000. in 2019! Plus extremely high build quality.

    • @OutMotorsports
      @OutMotorsports  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's hard to go wrong with a CX-5! They are really value-packed. You do see some differences in materials and small touches between "tiers" of brands but Mazda has stepped it up significantly, the RDX comparison is a good one. Glad you enjoyed!
