- This is a first for me--doing a tutorial on a technique I use to make my regimental flags look more realistic. Hopefully some of you find this useful!
For a similar technique without using tin foil, check out Artmaster Studio's flag tutorial: • Artmaster Studio: Flag...
Thank you! Amazing tutorial😊👍
Brilliantl video, wish I'd seen this years ago
Thanks!
Use this myself and fantastic end result.
Your flags are awesome, I will try this tin foil. Thank you!
Brilliant video, definitely using this for my medieval army, it'll look great! Thanks for this!
Great! Thank you, glad you were able to find it useful!
Realistic and splendid flags, congrats!
Thank you!
Awesome trick
Thanks!
Excellent. Very informative thank you.
Great tips. Would never of thought of tin foil!
Thanks! Hope it is helpful!
Nice video. Great idea.
Great idea for the tin foil. Just about to do some ACW flags- will use that technique for sure.
Great! Hope it works as well for you as it did for me!
Good tip sir
great how to, thanks for sharing
congrats on 900 subs
Thanks!
Thanks for this!!
Great video, nice job.
Thanks!
Brilliant video, now I can put the Southern Cross over my 18th Georgia Infantry.
Hey I appreciate your video! Can you suggest me anything that how can I make miniature custom made Nobori Flag?
That's a tough question; I haven't done one so I'm not sure. I will look into it though.
Great tutorial! I never would of thought to use tin foil to stabilize the flag. Also, when would you place it on the miniature?
Thanks,
Patriot
Thanks! I forgot to add the pop up about the miniature. I'll do that this evening. Thanks for the heads up!
thanks nice job ....I learned a lot. ....
These look great! What material are the flags made from?
I think just paper.
Is phrasing still a thing? Are we still doing phrasing?
Great video. How did you attached them to the flag pole without making a mess?
Very carefully with a tiny bit of superglue.
We used to use metal from toothpaste tubes, but now they are all plastic
thank you!!!!
Great video! Thx a lot! :D
Thank you!
No problem!
Отличный туториал. Всегда мучился и делал флаги из Green Stuff, но они были весьма ломкие для 28 мм. Спасибо.
Dumb question but could you apply Citadel 'Ardcoat to these, over the PVA, for extra rigidity and protection?
No idea; I've not used it. Give it a try though, and let me know!
I may well do :) Downside is it'd give it a gloss finish.
Bumbling Brit 'ard coat will work, but like you said, it will give it a gloss finish. to kill that I always seal my minis with a dull coat lacquer. that usually takes the sheen right out of the flags and minis alike. if needed, add a second coat (for protection sake I use two coats normally anyway)
What do you use for the flagpole?
I tend to use paperclips. They work well. Just make sure they are very straight.
An Extrovert Paints! Thank you!
would this technique work for 54 mm figures?
Depends on the thickness of the paper, but I don't see why not. I have never tried it though; give it a shot and please update us here!
Flagpole? Some miniatures don't come with flagpoles
Use straightened paperclips. :-)
@@AnExtrovertPaints Wow that's great thank you
Okay so doing this has fucked up everyday I've made so far, cracking it using the flags provided by perry
Sorry to heard that; I've not had an issue. Perry flags also tend to be more rigid and card-like. I would recommend maybe using GMB Designs or Flags of War flags over Perry's.
Reshoot this to make it 3 minutes, and use scissors to save a lot of effort.
