Tips that compliment your excellent trip tips ... 1) let your "puffy" jacket or fleece double as a neck roll/pillow, 2) travel wearing cargo shorts and or/fishing style shirt, both have lots of pockets to quickly, easily, and temporarily secure important documents until they can go back into their dedicated folder.

Yesss great recommendations! We both have a pair of pants with lots of zippered pockets and we couldn’t fly without them!

If it’s a long layover during the day or miss your flight there’s app called day use rooms . Sometimes you can get a room for under $100 for a few hours .

USB chargeable mini-fans!! We have found that some of the newer planes do not have the controllable air-flow valve above the seat, and it is horrible if you are overheating during a long flight. Bring two of them, and that way you can use one while the other one is recharging. It was a game changer for us.

Good. Ideas 😊 especially the lounge card!! Nothing like sleeping or, trying to sleep, on an icecold, hard floor such place - been there, done that and, it's not on!!
    Thanks for sharing 💕❤️💕😊

Hahaha we’ve slept on way too many airport floors and it is not fun 😂 Lounges are a game-changer!

The probably most relaxing layover was when I just found myself a seat and did nothing (was bored) for like 45 minutes. It gave me a chance to sort through all the impressions of the travel day and turned out to be extremely relaxing

I use Sleeping in Airports, and if i arrive middle of the night, i wait for dawn. I carry plenty of food and water in my carry on day pack. Sleep in chairs or couches in cafes.

The VIP lounges might sound like a luxury but I had a 17 hour layover and with the buffet and unlimited drinks, it ended up being cheaper

I’m headed to Ecuador in March with a 11 hour layover in Miami. I’ll be looking into an airport lounge for sure.

Awesome! Yes definitely look into it ahead of time to know your options 😊 Just make sure to check the details of each lounge because some have time limits so you’ll want one you can stay as long as possible.

@@EricandSarah I just looked and the hours are pretty much 5:30am to 10pm. No good to me. My layover is 10pm until 9:30am. 🤷🏼‍♀️. Not worth the cost of a hotel so I’ll just hang out and snooze a bit with one eye open. Lol
      Enjoy your videos.
From your neighbor, Alberta!! Safe travels to you both

I know your trip has already passed, but capsule hotels are a game changer! Not available everywhere but amazing at big airports!

Hope you are coming back to Ecuador. A month to adjust to altitude. Your heart enlarges :-)))). Lots of new visa options. I’d be glad to help you. *** New is resciprosity with Eac, Columbia, Peru, Bolivia. Go between each. I’m finding out if that’s with Visa or do you need citizenship ? It’s very cool, though. ****Miss you guys. Hope you come back to South America. I’m working on my EC Visa. Moving there in next year. Best to you both. Miss you.

It was from a United flight but I kept it until the second flight because I knew we had a long layover 😬

Booking hostels in advance can be disapointing. If its not high sesson i look online maps with popup prices and find a cluster of cheap hostels and write adresses abd even draw a map so if one is insdequte or booked up, i can find another close by. Cheap accomidations are usuakly in one neighborhood.
