I agree with you- Motorcycle TH-camrs do a great job of making 10-20 minute product reviews without actually telling you anything useful. The YT marketing industrial complex is a real thing. Also, I knew from first glance there’s no way that seat would be comfortable.
Great timing! Been at my local Harley dealer this week and they have that same bike and the same silver in the CVO street Glide. Great to hear some of the ups and downs. Will help to make my decision for sure. I do want a seat and back rest, the same slip on pipes, highway pegs, luggage rack or a removable tour pack. I was worried about not having lowers like my ultra classic had. Thanks again!!
Cool bike, I hope to get my Whiskey Neat soon. It will be the prototype for Wilbers research to adapt the self leveling suspension to the new touring platform. You might wanna wait with your suspension upgrade. Safe rides
This is exactly what I was looking for! I have Wilbers on my 2022 RG (front and back) and love them. I'm looking at the new CVO and wanted to know if Wilbers will be making upgrades for it.
Good honest review. Thanks! I live in NC. When you go to the Tail of the Dragon, the best direction & loop, is the Cherohala Skyway, to the TOD & then Moonshiner 28. Also, 209 Rattler, Copperhead Loop & Wayah Road are also in the area along with Foothills Parkway & Blue Ridge Parkway. Devil's Triangle in Tennessee is a good too. Wheels Thru Time Museum is Maggie Valley is a must. Try to do all roads on a weekday. Stay away from the TOD on Saturday. The best section of the Blue Ridge Parkway (highest point, scenery & lots of tunnels) is from Cherokee to Asheville. Ride safe.
I adjusted my suspension yesterday. It helps a lot! My dealer didn't set the preload for me. If yours is like mine, you have zero pre-load and you will bottom out on a lot of bumps
I just put a down payment on one, and appreciate your comments. I totally agree about needing a backrest as I am 6ft 2 as well. 1st thing I asked the dealer about.
Great review. Nice details about things like the floorboads, and finding out there is no backrest, even as an option. And how the seat feels. Appreciate the feedback on the windscreen too. As you said, too many reviews all parroting the same glowing reviews without giving any real information we can use. Subscribed!
I have a2012 CVO Road Glide and I put the slime tour pack and my husband and I moved the tour pack forward for my back rest. We took the passenger seat off, I’m 5’5” so we moved the tour pack forward til I could rest my back comfortable. Give it a try it works for me. I’ve put over 108600 on my bike.
I'm 6'2 as well. I have put floor board extensions on all my Harleys. It Put them another 2" away from the bike and alot more room for my size13" boot.
I really would like a back rest. I hope they come up with some thing.I have a but buffer to get me by until somebody comes up with a seat that fits and has a back rest. Great review thanks for doing it.
Really nice bike and my co-worker just picked his up yesterday. He went from a R1 to a Harley. You paid too much money for the storage compartment door to not work within the first 12 days. Let them fix it before be somewhere and it WON'T open and have something in there that you need to get out.
Great review. I picked mine up past weekend and only have a couple hundred miles on but, this is enough to tell me that the seat isn't going to cut it. My last bike was an Ultra with a bat wing fairing. If you were in Sturgis this year, I know you had to deal with a lot of rain. How'd it handle in the rain with rain mode, etc.? I see a lot of openings when i look down the handlebars. Did the fairing provide much protection from the rain?
I replaced my seat on the SGST almost immediately. BadBoyz Cycles has a seat for your CVO. I put the BBC Venom seat on mine and rode to Sturgis and back to NM no problem! I did the Tab Performance 50 Cal slip ons and wow!
Excellent/fantastic review! I'm surprised the dealer you picked the bike up from in Dallas didn't adjust the suspension to your weight. Especially if they knew you were riding to Sturgis?? I test rode the bikes at the 120th. The seat felt comfortable, but a 20 minute test ride doesn't tell the tale. Hopefully, Saddlemen and others will come out with some new seats soon.
Mean City Cycles in NC does amazing work on stock seats. I can sit on mine all day. They do custom stitching and piping as well. Reasonable pricing as well.
Breezy rider seat cover would have helped with the seat. Fits right over the stock seat. I've got one on my road glide limited. Game changer for distance rides. Still not perfect but it helps. Very nice bike congratulations 😮 kind of reminds me of the low rider st. I have the khrome werks full exhaust on my road glide limited, loud but not obnoxious.
Just threw my leg over one of these today. I agree with almost everything you said. My first impression was this seat is not gonna cut it. I have a 15 RGS that has more added options than the Ultra, and like you I travel long distances on a regular basis. Just took a trip from DC to Beaumont via Nashvile and NOLA. I need that seat and backrest! Bike looks a lot better in person that vids and pics. Think I'm gonna wait for the touring version, hopefully next year. Thanks for the review!
It feels great when you buy a bike and you don't need to replace anything (seat, screen, muffler, handle bars, suspension, speakers, lights, etc). For a $50K bike, no one should need any upgrade. The one's who suck up to the Manufacturers for Free Meals and Free Trips will tell you how amazing every bike is whether it's a $15K or $50K bike. The bike looks very nice with the top case and the black chrome pipes. Happy rides.
Very good job on the lawn also ,and yes the Denali is a Woww ,great bike,it’s a shame at that price the seat is no good and it should come with 3 different shield and the tour pack….
Nice video... on the video it looks like the Khrome Werks mufflers have discolored at the front and rear of the muffler, or it looks like that through the camera, but not in person? We can't make up our minds about buying one now or wait. So many things are not available yet; tinted windshields, etc. Freedom windshield's says they'll be working on them this off season. Also you said there are no seats that will fit. Is it that there are no seats where the backrest will not fit or is it that seat itself does not fit, with or without a backrest.
Great review. I purchased the same bike. Do you know the actual name of the Khrome werks exhaust? also, with the 6x9 speaker upgrade for bags, did HD have to do any programming to install them or were they plug and play? thank you
I purchased the same exhaust, hopefully they come soon. Does your Khrome Werks slip-ons have the standard baffle and if so does the torque perform the same as the stock HD mufflers? Thank you
@etontheground-ETOTG but you see what I was talking about? The black chrome looks discolored. But they do sound great. I picked mine up today. Glad you had a nice trip, great review again.
Great review, very honest and thorough except about the seat, didn't talk too much about the seat. Anyway, hope you get the seat asap and good luck, can't ever find a comfortable seat. Stay safe, see ya on the road, YODA.
In watching POV videos on the new HD's it would seem there is quite of bit of feed back coming from the road into the handle bars. You mentioned that the ride was a bit harsh, you think this can be adjusted out and to that point is the front suspension adjustable? Really like the changes HD has made and may look at adding a SG to the stable in the next couple years.
Thanks Kelly B. Enjoy your channel. This is Hard Rider ET. On your channel 2 years ago you got me as a prospect, then you got me again in Dallas as a patched member.
Every 2023 CVO I've seen looks to have some fitment issue on the Fairing Spoiler. The gaps front to back as well as each side is not a tight gap and is surely inconsistent.
I'm trying to order one but I'm haggling to permanently remove the twin cooling and install an oil cooler and lowers with speakers. Then it goes to cut n shoot in Conroe Tx for a California side car trike conversion.
I have left comments to others youtuber’s about the short front fender that exposes debris to your oil cooler or does it have a oil cooler since it’s water cooled

Nice bike I have been riding for over 45 years and had all kinds of bikes now I ride a ultra limited shame on HD when you spend a ton of cash amd you need to replace the seat.Did anyone at HD actually test these cvo for more than 10 miles ?
I agree. Ridiculous we have to buy a new seat / backrest. That's why I say HD dropped the ball with all the youtubers supposedly telling us about the bikes. They were all excited to be riding. They should of had an hour breakdown of the bike and what to expect. The sales staff and the techs no nothing about the bike. That's why I wanted to do a 3,700 mile review. When you pay that much for a bike surely you would expect the seat to be good. Can't you go back to the dealer and get it fixed? I'm still waiting for mine and I'm in Europe.
Great review. Interesting that you would replace the seat, replaced the pipes & speakers. Sounds like a lot of $ for a 43k bike. I just put a deposit on a 2023 CVO street glide in Whiskey neat and I am rethinking my decision after this review. The cost of the bike is over 48K with the custom color and the thought of having to upgrade the seat, Pipes, back rest and speakers might be a bit too much to swallow for the price point. Harley is getting greedy.

That had replace my door grommet already
I know. That was a bad idea IMO
I told them about the glove box thing
The 2 things i was looking for from Harley was upgraded suspension front and back. Im disappointed. I don't like the front fender. I can get that on any other bike. Dorrybto hear the seat is garbage too. I quess $60000 doesn't cut it.
Sorry to hear
Just so you know that any seat will fit that bike from 2009 till now.
