For shoes I wear Clark's that's my Brand have several pairs and running sneakers.
Agreed. I always wear a color blending t-shirt that doesn't stand out and a shirt that goes well with a leather jacket or sport coat with darker denim jeans. Of course, nice dark leather sneakers make it all work.

A few months ago I specifically ordered some dress denim jeans Blue, Navy, Black at least two of each. The first thing I did after getting them was to take them to my local tailoring store and have them tailor fit me and in the kinda shoe I’ll be wearing with them. Dress denim just looks better when they are tailor fit and ready to play the part in your style choice. Of all the choices, one the best way to dress up a dress denim jean style that works at night is to wear a Shirt Jacket and the one John has on is perfect for that.

Dark blue, medium blue, light blue for the summer, grey, and black are the best colors in my opinion.
Slim fit looks better.

Hi there! Another great and useful video. Great tips. I just turn 68 two days ago and along my years I have experienced many changes in my wardrobe. I do have to admit it! in my younger years I had to play it by ear and common sense. Now a days and thanks to the Internet explosion and young fellows like yourself I feel much more confident in my choices. Any other suggestions for 68 years? I like the ideas in this video. I mainly wear jeans, more specifically black jeans. Since I do carry extra lbs. relaxed fit suits me better. The different color tops gave some ideas of adding some color to my wardrobe(I wear mostly black). Thanks for another great video!

I have been looking for some inspiration for the national workshop in which I will speak. It will be a casual day workshop. I decided to wear a combination of monochromatic browns: medium brown jeans, cream shirt, matching rich brown leather boots and belt. I love it when you showed the brown jeans (or chinos). I think browns are rather underestimated, yet it is understatedly stylish!

I wear 34/32 size of my denims Jean's wear straight fit I'm 5'8 bit bulky so you know I workout my spouse love seen me in those types of jeans she says that my figure looks more noticeable also I do sprinting running 🎽 she says helps me look more appealing we'll if she said so LoL 😸😆🤣. Also help me looks confident the way you dress as a guys nice jeans, Polo or long sleeve Black 🖤 which is my favorite color nice shoes , I Tell you I really notice when female stare and that's good for me. Not usually a good idea. If not bought as a complete suit, it's gonna be really difficult to find something the same.

I prefer chinos to jeans. I appears (to me) that each of those combinations would work equally well with chinos in those colors.

Classic mens shoes have more options and are much better than women's footwear IMHO
Always loved overdyed black, but it only looks good for a certain number of washes.........I still think that the late 80s look of jeans with a t-shirt or Polo under a casual dress jacket looks good, but not on me. Great video as always my friend!

honest question, why are you suggesting light gray jeans but avoiding light blue ones? maybe im ignorant(that's why im watching this type of videos), but i use to wear something like what you are wearing at 8:28 (just change gray for light blue) does it look bad or something? can you explain the difference?i'm 40 btw... thanks in advance!
In my opinion, the light blue denim is a little dated. Also, since a lot of the younger guys are wearing them today, it's reads a little bit too youthful.

It's not true to say that men don't have the same choices or range of shoes compared to women. I would even say the range of quality leather shoes is far superior for men. Women tend to gravitate towards cheaper fashion shoes. There's a wealth of high quality shoes for men out there if you know what to look for. The real problem is trying to choose from all the beautiful styles.
If you don't have time to go home and change? Are we women? Just dress decently at all times and don't worry about it. If you end up in a bright yellow shirt having a martini, as long as you are confident in yourself no one will care. And if you are wearing something that stands out, it can always work as a conversation starter. I've had some of the best times in my life when I've wound up out on the town wearing whatever I had on that day for my previous activity, whether it be a suit and tie at a bar concert or golf attire at a fancy restaurant because that's where we wound up after coming off the course. But, yes, make sure you're well groomed and your clothes fit properly in the first place.

@4:34 Am I the only one that thinks the two shoes that were featured from today's sponsor were hideous? I'm not knocking the brand. It's possible they could have some very nice looking shoes in their wider collection. But I can't see myself, or John, wearing either of the two that he was holding. Not in a million years.

I didn't like all of them but I thought the boots without the straps that had various colors looked kinda cool. I would have to think about what to wear them with. I live in a big city but do work in a small town once a month. I get along with just about everyone in the small town, except for one guy who made a comment under his breath about a v-neck sweater vest I was wearing. I didn't hear it completely and when I asked what he said someone else said "oh nothing" so I couldn't really respond. Despite that one event, no one has really said anything about how I dress except one lady said, "you can tell you're not from here by the way you dress." When I asked why she said because of the colors I wear. I guess I stand out, and the way she said it makes me think I stand out in a good way.
If you find some shoes that that you like but you would stand out a bit I say go for it. Wear them next time you are out and about on Saturday. Maybe no one will say anything but they will notice. Maybe you'll get one compliment. Who knows. Just wear them with confidence and you'll be fine!

I'm a boot guy who owns 30+ boots and I hate these boots. They look like over-priced, cheaply-made junk. If you want a cheap boot stick with something well-made, like the Thursday Vanguard.

IMHO, denim at any price point looks cheap and juvenile. Ralph Lauren wore jeans with a blazer and I checked my calendar - IT WASN'T APRIL FOOL'S DAY. No disrespect to Lauren - everyone has an off-day. Housework, yardwork, turning a wrench - denim all day. In public, a man should never wear.....
