- DIY Paper Making with Tissue Paper for Junk Journals, Collage and Art Journaling is a cost effective use of your materials on hand. In this video I have utilized tea bags, horse hair, string, tea bags and tea leaves to create paper that can be utilized to create interest in your journals. Once created, each page was grunged up a bit with some rust water.
Check out my newly opened Amazon Storefront - I do make a small commission on every purchase but your prices do not increase. I am trying to add products as I use them in videos so you have an easy spot to find everything you need if you wish to try the project!

Love the leaves! Thank you for the tutorial! Lynn
So happy you found one you like!!! Thank you Lynn!
Gorgeous! Absolutely amazing and an achievable technique. Thank you!
Thank you Anne!!! Super easy to attain some solid results!
This is more to my liking for making paper than shredding paper and putting it back together! I really like them all but I think the leaves and the tea are my favorite. Although I do have a boatload of thread trimmings and spoons and spoons I inherited from my Mom. Some are very, very old (I'm old and they outdated me!!) and really don't work well in the machine anymore. That would be perfect to use to try this out. I bought a packet of the cheap tissue paper from Dollar Tree a bit ago so this would be a good thing to try as well. TFS. 💖💖💖
You have everything you need to create some paper!!! The thread does work great!
Love the look😊
Thank you!
Thank you for the idea, I’m gonna try the leaves one & your music selection is awesome
Thank you! I do try to make the music worth the listen😄, thanks for noticing!
Beautiful papers! Great projects. Glad I found your channel. ❤
Glad you found me too! Thank you for watching!!
Love the look of these papers 😍
Thank you!!!
Thank you!😊
You're welcome 😊 so glad you enjoyed, thanks for watching!
Love what you did with the tissue paper and teabags, etc. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much!! Always happy to see your comments!! 💕
Cool techniques.....I have no horse hair but a cut about 5 inches of my own hair to use instead....Can't wait to do this.........😻
That will work!!! I just cut about 3” myself but didn’t save-the Victorians used to save and braid into very intricate art!
Omgsh, these are amazing!! I love each and every one of them!! Makes me wish we still had our horses, but can get some hairs from friends. I love the leaves, the tea, the rust, gosh just ALL OF THEM!! Thank you for sharing your amazing talents with us!!
Thank you! My horse has contributed to a number of creations😂. I love using the brushes I made from her tail-they really make great marks!
So creative and fascinating! Thanks so much for sharing your inspiration with us.
You are so welcome! Thank you for your loyal support!!! 💕💕
More evidence of your bottomless creativity Peg ❤
Or could it be my mindless wandering 😂😂. Appreciate you, as always💕
So pretty 😍👏 lots of love from Arctic Norway 🥰🍀🌼🌸
You saw a lot of this paper in the stick bound rust journal! The horse hair paper definitely was in the journal! 💕
The shear joy of creating, combining disparate elements for a new whole with more to come.
True, so true--finding things unconnected to utilize is so enjoyable!
These oapers are absolutely fabulous. I love that you saved and used the leaves again. So cool - all of it! TFS. 🙏🥰
Thanks so much! I have a lot of use out of those leaves😂
💖
Thank you!!!
The horse tail paper is my favorite. I will try making paper too.
Wonderful! I liked the horse hair too!!
Love it Peg ❤ thank you for sharing… can I borrow your horse? 😂
Be quite the trip for you!! But pull in anytime and I’ll saddle her up for you!!!
So good! Love this process and my favorite is the filter paper you did first. This gives me an idea to maybe tint your glue? Perhaps use rust water to mix with your school glue when making mod podge. I bet it would be cool for all sorts of stuff too ❤
Thank you Cheran!!! Ohhhh that’s a great idea! I’ll do that-the rust water to make the glue!!!
This was so neat to watch your process! Creative things you repurposed into your papers too! 💗
Thanks so much! 😊
EXCELLENT! THANK YOU 🎉
Glad it was helpful! Thank you!
Loved what you made!
Thank you! 😊. Just trying to use what I have!!!😂
👍👍👍💕💕💕🇩🇰
Thank you!
Great ideas. How did you made your rust water?
Thanks for sharing it!
I put a rusty chain in my container, covered it with about 3/4 cup vineagar and filled the container with water. It was a pretty large chain and a big container! Let it sit for about a week.
@@TwoOldCrowsMixedMedia Awesome! Thanks for sharing it
I don’t know any horses so I wouldn’t be able to have any but I would like more explanation of what you are putting the teabag on to make the paper
I’m utilizing layers of teabag as the paper, I’m strengthening with a mixture of 2/3 glue 1/3 water. I am working on a 12x12 grease proof sheet so it will release!
What is the name of that song and the band? A perfect background music to your work!
Cody Francis-Hold my Hand. It is from Epidemic Sound. Thank you!!
Would a silicone mat work instead of deli paper?💜🐞
Yes, but I use the deli paper so I can work on multiples!
Where did you buy the wet strength paper?.thanks
I ordered off Amazon! You could check in with the people over in my Facebook group and likely get some great answers. This was my first time using the wet strength so I haven’t tested or tried different brands!
What is the bottom layer you are working on? Is it plain paper, a craft sheet, parchment, or a silicone mat?
It is a grease proof basket liner, or deli sheet 12” x 12”
Is the brown “deli sheet” really parchment paper?
They are sold as grease proof basket liners….12 x 12. They are the same on both sides and not as thick or waxy as parchment paper!
Are you using water down glue or what?
Hope you saw my other reply….here is a video that show how to make your own “mod podge” if you would like to see the cost breakdown and recipe. th-cam.com/video/22gc-DRefmE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=UiNYBCQoFtLw46Bo
I did something similar and have some rusted papers now but the problem is that I didn't saw them yet because i've let them dry. So I only will see the result in a couple of weeks 😢
That’s the best way-I have some in the process with steel wool and vinegar! Video in a few weeks!
@@TwoOldCrowsMixedMediaavec de la laine d'acier et le vinaigre,le résultat est très rapide 😊
ARE YOU USING GLU OR WHAT
I give the composition in the video--it is a PVA glue and water mixture. 2/3 glue to 1/3 water. You could also use mod podge or any gel medium.
ARE YOU USING GLU OR WHAT
I have answered this twice😂 but this comment keeps reappearing in my unanswered queues-so odd! To be sure you’ve received an answer….I was using a glue and water mixture….it is 2/3 glue to 1/3 water! Hope this reaches you and helps!
