Man I was in between Stealth, XPS 13 and Spectre 360. Between XPS and Spectre, Spectre is a clear winner except for battery but I have no clue regarding Stealth

So now they have a 12, 13, 14, and 17 inch laptop. Razer's next project are 15 and 16 inch laptops

If they try to reduce the bezel size on the 14 inch model a new razer blade 15 inch might be the next to come. At least that's what they did with the old 12 inch razer blade stealth also known as the new 13 inch razer blade stealth...
+developandplay They won't be able to do it in the same chassis size though. The Stealth went from 12.5 to 13.3 inches. The Blade would need to go from 14 to 15.6, which is double the amount. The overall size would need to increase a little bit to pull this off, around 0.8 inches if the bezels go down in the same proportion as the Stealth.
That said, I'm absolutely hoping they go for that. A blade with a 15.6" screen would be awesome. If on top of that they go with the whole Max Q thing and they put a GTX 1070 in there that would make it the best laptop currently available. Hell, even keeping the 1060 but being quieter, cooler, and with more battery life would still be great. Although if they're going Max Q the 1070 seems likelier. I would pay the high price this hypothetical laptop is bound to carry.
I didn't think of it in detail but what you are saying seems to be true. I'm currently considerung buying the razer blade. Due to the release of the new stealth I thought it might be better to wait for another 1-3 months.
Honestly the 1060 should be more than enough for modern games at 1080p. I'd prefer them to further improve on there battery life. It's battery life and the build quality are the strongest selling points for me.
+club penguin pornstar I'm not sure. Razer might go with providing the higher specs just to provide the higher graphics power in numbers. A 1070 Max Q will be faster than a 1060. Not as fast as a regular 1070 but definitely will have an edge on most games from the reports I've seen. I do not know why it's a hit or miss though, where some games get really good fps and others are not worth the price premium over a 1060, but overall there's enough of a difference to make a marketing point at least.
I do not think they'll be able to fit a regular 1070 though. If they reduce the bezels there's just 0.8 inches of extra space, on the diagonal dimension, to fit cooling for a card that's 30W higher TDP, which is 25% more than the 1060 TDP, at 120 vs 150W. The physics just aren't there without making the laptop thicker, which I don't see Razer doing. That said, a 0.8 inch larger Blade with a 15.6 in screen and a regular 1060 would be just great.

Even though it's technically incorrect, I think it helps people who don't know what an SSD is.

Well, technically you could call it a hard drive since it is hard and it is a drive, it's just not a hard disk drive since it doesn't have disks of any kind in it. But yeah, just splitting hairs here
actually it is a Hard Drive, its just not a Hard ''Disk'' Drive an SSD is a type of hard drive. - if you are going to nit pick at least get it right

Raz. I did but I think his reviews sometimes are very general... He didn't mention how he tested the battery life (brightness, programs running, etc) and he just said that it's nearly impossible to edit 4k but didn't say how much tine rendering video and if is possible to playback while editing in 1/4-1/8 quality...
Ludwind Zamudio Ah yeah that's true, but I'm guessing most of his audience doesn't need to know about editing and render times. These could be googled pretty easily. I see your point though, I wish there's more reviewers that go FULL in depth about a product.
Raz. Exactly. I didn't find it anything about that issues even on razer inside forum... I think razers laptops are lacking of youtubers who make FULL reviews about them.
Ludwind Zamudio get a Macbook if you want to edit videos, this thing is way too underpowered and unoptimized for 4k editing.
The screen shake is real.
Friendly advice, don't say "ssd hard drive". That's a misnomer. It's an ssd. But it's especially relevant to mention that it's m.2. It's even more important to say that it's a PCIe nvme and it's a Samsung pm951.

SSD stands for "Solid State Drive". That means it doesn't use moving parts. They are impact resistant and much faster. HDD Stands for "Hard Disk Drive" or just "Hard Drive" for short. Hard Drives are slow on the data transfer, because they have a spinning platter inside them and it takes time to get it to spin up and find the data you want.They are 2 different technologies entirely. Saying "SSD Hard Drive" greatly devalues the credibility of the person speaking. I would seriously question anyone's opinion that said that.
And to be clear, many modern laptops, including the one mentioned here, use tiny flat SSD's that attach through the m.2 slot, much different than the 2.5 inch drives laptops have been using for 2 decades. The good ones use the PCIe standard as a transport layer for data. NVMe is a transfer protocol, or language that runs on PCIe. If you don't understand what I mean, don't worry about it. Just know that the difference between this computer's storage drive and a hard drive is hundreds of dollars. The difference is HUGE and he should have talked about it.
If you're thinking about buying it, go for it. Better yet, get the 8th gen one that just came out. It's a fantastic device. My wife owns the machine, and it works great for her. I personally need more power though (I do a lot of programming and some game design). If you're on the fence, watch Dave2d's review of this product. He's very thorough and well researched. His videos are also extremely high quality.

Yes! Thank you! I was really hoping for someone to review this laptop already. I actually like the gumetal version a lot better, because the logo is not shining and it's not green - gives it a less 'gamy' look. But overall this is a laptop I personally like the best so far from all of the available ultrabooks. The looks, the build quality, the hardware and the battery time. They even decided to use a windows precision driver trackpad. I would really like to know how that one performs!
What's THAT laptop like at gaming? Can it run GTA 5 and things?

It's hardly a gaming laptop. There is no dedicated GPU. It's only made by a gaming company but it's really just a MacBook equivalent laptop
Im in the market for a new gaming laptop. I have a alienware 17 r2, and it sucks since day one I have had problems with it. Should I buy a razerblade instead

I'm thorned in between Razer blade stealth and Alienware 13 oled.
Razer blade stealth
pro: light weight, i7 and 16gb
con: should not be able to handle gaming. not so future proof. expensive Razer core
Alienware 13 oled
pro: integrated graphic card. no concern in terms of performance. cheaper external graphic compatibility
con: weight
my concern: will it be able to handle web building with wix, slots of video and pictures. Auto Cad, photoshop, work and some light gaming.
what would you suggest?

FlyingStuf i had the exact same problem , but I realised that razer will propably do the same to the 14 inch ( grey finish , shrinking bezels ) so I decided to wait until october when the new one will be released

Although I bought the $999 from last year model which had been removed, I think I guess the cheapest one is not the best one...

This can last well over 5+ Years. This can handle overwatch and low settings. But if you want to play any big games you would have to get the razer core, which allows you hookup a desktop cpu to your laptop. I prefer windows over osx just due to the limitations that osx has, but thats just me. Id recommend this latop though, I just got one for myself and I love it.

@CooLoserTech Hey, have you had any issues with this laptop having bad coil whine? It seems like I may have gotten a defective one but its really bad when watching youtube videos and even when writing this comment it seems like its kicking in a bit. Any thoughts?
I hear a tiny coil whine on mine, but I had to put it up to my ear to hear it. It's very faint right now but I forgot that razer was known for that coil whine issue because I didn't have it occur for me....yet? The only thing I have a concern about is the right speaker having that rattle at high volume.
I want to keep this laptop, but if it doesn't perform as it should for me, I ill return it

Is the Razer Blade Stealth juste for Gaming:
Any issues with coil whine? I had two the previous generation RBS Kaby Lake and returned both due to it. Could hear a distinct buzzing over the keyboard. This was quite a common issue as well. I would be interested in this version if they solved that.
Also for anyone interested in buy this laptop, best thing is to get it from the Microsoft Store. 30 day no questions asked return policy. You won't get the same support if buying from Razer.

I need an upgrade and was looking at these 4 laptop too for video editing, xps has coil whine issue I'm not risking it, MBP is great with final cut but no touchscreen which is a no for me as I'm so used to using my surface with touchscreen. now I left with stealth which seems to tick every box from performance to design plus light weight and good pricing

Why get a razer blade stealth? As you then need an external gpu?
This is for non gaming. Just everyday use. But id rather have the razer core with a gtx 1080 then just the gtx 1060 thats in the Razer blade.

No, this is not made for true gaming. It's like having a macbook pro 13. The fans don't kick in at all during watching videos at all, so its quiet and professional/school friendly to lug around. I just have to test this on a couple video edits and see how it sounds and performs
its not overkill for anyuthing, litterally just a dual core power saving cpu with a great display and build, its an ultrabook not a gaming machine

I love the razer products, if they work. I had an issue with a screen on my stealth, so I sent it in. They never gave me a return pc and kept my money. I had to contact razer numerous amounts of times. I spoke with 7 people before I had to call Amazon because their support was horrific. It has been over two weeks and I won't know anything about my old pc until a few days. I like their products, but their customer support is horrific.
