i think waackxxxy would've won off the bat against kirsten if she chose a song that could showcase her isolations as much as her waacking (just like her partition freestyle against lip j years ago [th-cam.com/video/5SQlYsUbZe8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=fd8ms0maJdMhZZg7 at 1:26]) also i think they should choose a certain style to freestyle to since evaluating who is better between a waacking freestyler and a hiphop freestyler can be complicated (especially if the judges base their judgements on the vibe of the freestyle and not the showcase of technique itself 💀)
@@02_.o5zthat's one of the challenges with all/open style battles, it makes judging very difficult 😅 in actual battles, there are usually multiple judges to represent different styles for that reason
@facts_in_fiction can I ask a quick opinion on something? Top 5 male dancers in SM ent. If you can't answer it's okay, still thanks About SWF 2 I'm just watching some clips on TH-cam cause mnet shows give me headache lol I'm rooting for Bebe but I have yet to watch many videos
Haerin is my favourite because of how clean she is but I have to really give it to Hanni-while everyone in NewJeans does a great job of making their dances feel fun and lively, she really PERFORMS with her facial expressions. I feel like I saw this the most in Lolla. She was channeling so much attitude and personality in her face and it matched the controlled energy she was delivering. That takes so much confidence and passion and a strong sense of artistic identity and to see it in someone so early in their career is really admirable imo
It’s funny how lots of you people will say Haerin has the cleanest moves, yet go ahead and say Hanni is the best dancer? Do you guys really understand what’s clean?? I am an OT5 but Haerin dances better than Hanni. Reason because Haerin dances smoothly while Hanni adds extra energy to her dance moves
Hanni is the main dancer and main vocalist.
@@Карина-ъ9ш1ш and did Ador say or confirm that Hanni is the main vocalist and dancer? She could be a main vocalist but main dancer? Nope on my opinion
@@HILL95 both are talented dancers but hanni putting individuality into her moves rather than being "clean-cut" like most other kpop dancers is one of the reasons why she shines when it comes to dance. u can feel free to have ur own opinion, but don't be hypocritical and start getting angry at people when they have their own. having the "cleanest moves" doesn't automatically make you best dancer btw
@@bt_vkagksl do you read to understand? Who is being hypocrite here? I am being hypocrite for talking about my opinion? And where did I sound angry? Abeg, rest!
Tbh when I watch Hanni's dancing, it feel like she has music in her body. Every dance move and even her expression stick to the beat. And yeah, the way she dance with personality is interesting too. As someone who love groovy dancing, I really enjoyed her dancing.
@@illgiveyouthesunhanni vocal tier is the highest among the group wdym not their best vocal hayshsgshsg she isnt afraid of singing live too not skipping her lines
Hanni is personally my favourite dancer in Newjeans, i actually decided to become a bunnies after seeing hanni's cookie fancam. I was so impressed by how effortlessly she performed for their debut. As someone who has been dancing for some time now, i want to learn her ways of performing. I feel Hanni puts so much personality into their choreos. Haerin is also another favourite dancer in the group. Its just so pleasant to watch her moves and she's just so well rounded in her dancing skills. I also like seeing hyein perform, she has her perfect moments in their choreos. Its like that particular move was made for her that kind of thing.
Completely agree with you about Hanni. Some people say she is being overdanced, which is totally wrong. I am always amazed how she controlled her energy in each types of choreography. She has good core strength, body control (especially upper body), and flexibility. She adapts well fast moves like Super Shy. And her groovy is really outstanding! Her part in NJs, she does it so chill, looks like she is flowing.
It’s nice hearing feedback like this from trained/professional dancers. I just recently watched another analysis from 3 dancers and they all picked Hanni as well as the strongest dancer.
Haerin is genuinely such an outstanding dancer for her age. From a dancer's perspective, she's amazing at idol dancing and could easily be a professional dancer if chose to (but she'd need training ofc). She really impressed with the amount of skills she has at her age.
i dont follow newjeans much but all the clips you showed of Hanni's dancing were so impressive - she seems so smooth in her dancing and to just really enjoy doing what she does
@@ddolo12 Miss A's Min qualifies too, as does Yuju from Gfriend (people say SinB is the group's best dancer, respectfully disagree, it's Yuju > Yerin > Umji > SinB)
@@ananyasubramani4596Wow putting SinB on 4th is a hot take. I'll say recently I've also found Umji is doing better than SinB (at least in idol dancing), but back in the day SinB was clearly the best overall. I don't know whether she regressed or the other members surpassed her in terms of creativity and dynamics. It's an interesting case to study though, I haven't been keeping up with their dance videos recently, especially Yerin's
I totally agree with your comments about Hanni. She is such a joy to watch, because she has found a way to do intricate choreography and never look like she's executing a series of moves. Instead, she looks like she's just dancing around, letting the song flow through her. It's rare for anyone in this industry, regardless of gender.
I really like Hanni's combination of arm and leg movements. I've watched all of New jeans' performances as well as their fancams, I found Hanni's arm and hip range to be very large and strong. As for Haerin, I find her more into clean and fast footwork. It's hard to choose but I like Hanni more because she has different expressions and is very attractive while dancing.
Hanni's cookie fancam is what got me into newjeans tbh. Her expression and groove showcases the lyrics and emotion of the song so well. The way she executes the moves makes her fancams so captivating. This types of dance ranking videos are honestly the best because you go into great detail on their skills. keep it up!
I was just thinking of locking as well for hanni! I think she'd also do well in house bc of how groovy she is and how well she's able to play with different dynamics and textures. Also it's funny you mentioned hyein's strength in posing bc she was a child model so it definitely makes sense that she excels in that.
I find myself genuinely happy when I watch Hanni dance, her expression just pulls you into the groove and you can tell she’s enjoying it too, it’s very rare in this industry, I think a lot of the time when idol dance it’s like they’re trying hard to perform well, but Hanni just seems to enjoy herself whilst pulling those amazing moves. To find her style so early is a blessing.
i agree. If haerin had more facial expressions then she could be just as good as hanni, but haerin is litterally the poker face emoji. Since theyre just kpop idols then ig it doesnt matter that much since thats just haerins personality
@@ngndnd Haerin has improved a lot more recently. She smiles so much more confidently and vibes more which I love to see. It was during debut to Ditto era she was like 👁️👄👁️ during the whole performance... I also noticed hyein has that deer in the headlights look sometimes mid performances.. Danielle is very happy and expressive, Minji is very intentional with what she has to do. Hanni she tends to improvise a lot regardless of their fixed choreos, be it by interaction with surroundings, members or just how she vibes and has more easygoing approach
yess! if u saw their newest live haerin is getting more comfy with the camera and shes entering her kangster era and its amazing, shes really impressive!@@MaryK02
hanni and haerin are really the only two i pay attention to in newjeans when it comes to dance so i really loved seeing your analysis of the other members
I don't know if it's planned, but the way most (if not all) of the dance clips you used are in sync with the background music is so satisfying! I can’t wait to see their growth in their dance styles as they grow up & gain more experience in the industry!!
I honestly love Haerin's dancing, it's so clean and sharp and her sharp, cat-like visuals definitely match her dancing. I would totally watch Hanni from a performance standpoint since I rarely ever watch fancams, when I want to see someone who's performing on stage, I'll focus on Hanni. I think all members are great dancers, but they all have different areas they excel in and areas they need to improve.
my exact same thoughts! i sometimes get replies of like lowkey belittling hanni's dancing when in fact hanni is the most consistent, never shortcuts moves and just goes all out, best spatial awareness she really maximizes her space, can balance both fluidity and groove, good torso control, arm control (AND YES OMG I ALSO AGREE IVE BEEN THINKING SINCE THEN THAT HANNI SHOULD TRY LOCKING I RLY THINK IT SUITS HER A LOT), isolations, litefeet and also can rly keep up with footworks, and versatile indeed like when its a different dance genre hanni still does her best in executing it but still adding her own flavor to it. good explanations on your video! all newjeans members are really such great dancers
Personally I really enjoy Haerin’s clean and sharp dancing, although clean dancers are often considered “boring”. Super Shy was definitely Hanni’s song (choreo) tho, and ofc she’s overall amazing.
No😅, clean dancers are well appreciated in kpop lol, its pretty normal that people love clean dancing like you, momo chaeryeong chaeyeon are praised much among kpop stans than their groovy teammates jihyo and yeji lol. (Meanwhile messy unclean but groovy dancers are underappreciated just like dayeon…)
Super shy was Danielle's song for me, choreo, visual, charisma, presence everything, from the costumes to vibes matched her bubbly vitamin energy the best
I feel in kpop there are more "clean" dancers like haerin than dancers like hanni. So I think people are used to seeing clean dancers more, so when dancers like hanni bring a lot of individuality/personality to their fixed choreography system in kpop, people find it more fascinating or eye catching u can say. But obviously clean dancers are more easy on the eyes and what people are more used to actually, so it might look like it's underappreciated but it's not really, it's just people don't highlight it cuz it's more like the norm in kpop dancers. What do u guys think? Bc take any group atleast the main or lead dancers are "clean dancers"
I think Hyein's "coordination problems" may be because she is still a child and growing... and has been growing a lot in a short amount of time in her recent/current life. She is tall and so I think any person at her age who's growing that rapidly wouldn't be at their most coordinated. I think she needs time to settle in once she stops growing if she hasn't yet and her coordination/weight shifts would likely resolve. Also, might be of interest it seems many people here don't know -- Hyein has been training in kpop dancing for many years/most of her life -- there are videos of her day in the life from a few years ago on the kids program she was on Pocket TV.
hyein has more experience when it comes to performing like dancing. there are female idols that same age as her or younger than her that showing impressive dancing skills so i think age is not the reason but probably she will improve.
I always love your insight !! As a dancer myself here what I noticed ( I only will describe the error but they will be a lottt to say about how good they are !!) 5. Hyein I actually have the same exact problem has her (was she also classically trained??). The lack of flexibly and strength in the upper body (back, neck and arms) is mainly her problem. Maybe I extrapoled but she is probably a more empathic dancer as in feel the music and thus lack sharpness in her move 4. Danielle Reverse problem it’s the lower body (hips and legs) that lack fluidity. She know how to accentuate her face (and upper body) and if zoom in like in many idol show it look perfect. It will just show in American concert where the face is not the main concern 3. Minjin : I can’t find any default in her hip hop style. She would absolutely look magnetic if she can incorporate more “feminity” in her move as in : use more her hips and back and relax her neck. (Momo is a dancer I could typically see her become as in execute very powerful move with a feminine energy) 2.Haerin : A girl group machine dancer. (Almost) Perfection as an idol very precise and powerful. 1. Hanni : Could be a professional dancer I differenciate an idol dancer and a professional dancer because it’s two distinct job and each require different strength. I think Hanni could have been a professional dancer if she choose to (with more training of course). Obviously it’s not because you’re the best dancer that you’re the best idol tho ✨
In my opinion, Hanni is a dancer who captivates her audience with her mesmerizing and flawless dance moves, while also exuding genuine charm and dancing with a groove that adds a rhythmic and engaging quality to her performances.
i think this is a fair raiting all of the girls are great dancers and performers. my points: heyin: i don't see it mentioned how the taller you are the harder it is to control your body and limbs (i personally struggle with that) plus shes still growing so those hip hop dances are harder on a body like hers just physics wise. you have to lower your center and be quick and persise. i find the way that she keeps up with her members is very admirable and she's a very good dancer who will no doubt evolve. plus her confidence executing the choreo and charisma is amazing. she's so young i forget sometimes but she's doing so great. go heyin. danielle: danielle has such a strong presense she looks so happy and confident it's a joy to see her perform. dance wise i think that altho she excels in powerful moments something hints to me that this girl may have a ballet background or base. she is graceful and sharp in a way thats not very hip hop like. also the arching back she makes me think that she might be hyper mobile. either way shes so lovely. go sunny dani. minji: i think minji is such a solid dancer and i agree with everything said in the video. i think sometimes she's overlooked for her dancing since i usually see people praising her visuals. i love her she's so energetic and strong. now she's also tall herself but ithink she's been training in hip hop longer than heyin and has a different built from her plus shes has had more time to come into her own as a dancer. and becauses she's a strong dancer whos on the taller side her gestures are bigger and look even more powerful and add to the group. so yeah. go queen minji haerin: what a joy it has been to see haerin come out of her shell more this past year. her presision and clarity in her movements is incredible. i must admit at first i over looked her a bit because she seemed a bit held back. i think she can be slightly inconsistant in energy sometimes but she's so amazing she fits those dances very well and im very excited to see her grow into her own style. she's only 16 and yet amazing. go kitty kang hanni: not much to say here. i love hani shes so good yet so effortless and professional. just amazing and i love her vibe and i think that she deserves her first place in this ranking (although if we're disecting technique haerincomes so close). i also to note that hani has a great body for hip hop styles the way that her limbs are closer to her core make it easier to move quickly. she has a very strong core and yeah she's slays. go hanni pham overall all newjeans members work so well as a unit. i love watching their dance practises and performances they have a great chemistry and the choreos as crafted well so all members shine individually and together. they deserve all their hype. i feel like a proud older sister watching those girls do great things. is you read all of this thank you so much i hope you have a great day!
Its amazing how hanni already found her style in both singing and dancing... I wonder how Newjeans's choreo will look like when they all found their style GOTTA BE MORE AWOSOME
I can't dance, but I largely thought the same things you had mentioned. In particular, Dani's texture and Haerin's precise movements. Spotting the details when these 2 dance are really fun for me. Hanni is my bias. I always thought she excelled in almost any style, and that she was responsible for often the more difficult parts. Thanks for putting out this video. I'm going to watch them with an eagle eye with your observations in mind
When I first got introduced to new jeans Hannis energy instantly captured my eyes and she became my fav dancer in NJ. However, after watching the girls grow I started appreciating Haerins dancing more since I noticed she’s so good at footwork and hitting the beats on time, I’d say she’s the best at those in NJ, I just really appreciated her technique and control and I really can’t wait for her to grow and get even better!!
i love how hanni has maintains her own style through other genres .I've noticed haerin's clean and detailed dancing also make her standout so much her technique is really great like my eyes never leave her especially in hypeboy/cookie dance practice. I would love to see her show her artistry and personality through her dance a bit more tbh I think she improved quite significantly in this comeback.
It’s hard to stand out in a crowd of talented & remarkable dancers, & that’s what new jeans are from top to bottom. yet Hanni does so time & time again, w/out gimmicks or purposely trying to be loud. I’d even say her cohesiveness enhances the aesthetic appeal of the entire group. It almost feels unfair when Hanni gets so widely praised for the talent she displays, because of how elite the other 4 in dance they are themselves, cuz they are really that good. Ultimately it just makes that more astonished on how talented Hanni really is in the end.
Even if Haerin isn’t the main dancer, I’d still see her as the center or face of the group which I think she unofficially already is. Kinda reminds me of Ryujin from Itzy, not technically the main dancer of her group but always one of the most interesting to watch
I actually think Haerin is the Chaeryeong of newjeans, they both have solid skills. While Hanni shows similar traits to Ryujin as a performer, there's more personalising of the choreos.
@@hyeilooza yea I can see that, Hanni's a mix between Ryujin and Yeji. Laidback but in control with her dynamics while Haerin is always in good balance and control
Thank you so much for this analysis, i’m so tired of people saying haerin utilises zero groove, i was slowly starting to believe them. Also I love that hanni and haerin’s dance styles are so different it makes their performances so much more interesting, they complement each other perfectly.
Oh the video is out! Faster than I expected - short (compared to other rankings lmao) and sweet. Just like their music ❤ I was wondering if you would put them into commercial or open style haha, they kind of sit an in between still for me because of the blend of classic steps but still executed in quite a girlish manner generally I had to laugh a little at how many times ‘powerful’ was used in this compared to the standard gg way of dancing (not that any way is superior, just different). Nice minji showcase! Haven’t paid the most attention to her but I always thought she shined a little more in hip hop influenced sections. I adore Hanni really she dances in such a happy, carefree way it makes me smile. And I LOVE that you used the Do it like that challenge clip because I really liked her in there YES to Hanni doing locking like omg I can’t believe I never thought of it before. I feel like the way she keeps her centre of gravity low and that overall stance feels especially appropriate I’m looking forward to seeing how they all develop! There’s a lot of star quality here
my personal ranking is actually the same as yours! I love haerin and hanni dacing styles a lot but I do think hanni is more eye catching and you can see her enjoying every step, and that is what sells the full performace for me
Loved the video! Would love to see your take on NMIXX. I like to call Jiwoo a 3D dancer (groovy with constant dynamics, but tends to sacrifice precision) and Kyujin a 2D dancer (precise with geeat sense of shape, but doesn't vary her dynamics as much), and Haewon has a combination of both of their qualities but with less energy.
No hate but... When I think of girl groups, there is supposed to be a main vocalist (best singer) and main dancer (best dancer) IMO, they shouldn't be the same person. There is an ace in each group, yes, but they shouldn't be both best vocalist and dancer. And Hanni is, unarguably, the best vocalist and the best dancer in NewJeans. NewJeans also does not have set positions. But if they did, Hanni for sure would be getting both main vocalist and main dancer. And that, that just DOESN'T HAPPEN in girl groups. What's more, Hanni (arguably) has the best stage presence in NewJeans. Hanni should have gone solo. She has the charisma, she has the flair, she has all it needs.
Lez go my Groovy bunny! Sorry I just love Hanni. Actually I also really like Minji's style too. :) they are all great though. In time they would improve even more and I am all for it. Lez Gaur!
As a dancer, I’m so glad to see Minji 3rd because I thought I was becoming delusional with having her 3rd in my ranking as well with how often people rank her last
this is really interesting! i had noticed previously that danielle and rosé of blackpink have similar body shapes. they both have a relatively long and narrow torso and consequently also particularly small waists, and they both have relatively short legs compared to their torso - however because they are both very slim, most people wouldn’t necessarily notice it. it’s interesting to see that at 3:19 you mention something that i had noticed in rosé, as she also has a tendency to overarch her back. i do think that it’s possible their physical characteristics lead to their tendency to do this.
I've been waiting for this video omg !! Thank you so much for the detailed explanations about your opinions, they're really informative and fun to watch. Would you ever consider uploading a video about choreos for beginner dancers to learn?
I would also love to see a video about choreos for beginners! as an almost entirely non-dancer with a number of weird movement patterns, I would also love to see a video or a short of k-pop dances with choreo that either teaches or reinforces good technique/movement patterns and good basic dance skills, although I don't know if that's even possible lol
in my opinion minji is underrated dancer, but over all i agree with this rank, and i find out there is tktok video has same ranking like this and the comment said minji is not at 3rd and there is put her in last ranking too, thats makes me so sad, even minji doesnt have a lot part of sing or center but in dance and stage presence she's still doing best, her expression and stage presence like she was enjoy the stage and thats what i like for her
I completely agree with this ranking but I still greatly enjoy watching Danielle's fancams over Minji and Haerin's because of her presence but that's a whole other conversation lol
hanni's artistic sense (in both vocals and dance) is so good, especially since she just debuted like 1.5 years ago... she mustve worked really hard to cultivate that!! my fav idol in 4th gen fr. also i started waacking bc of her LOLLLLL
Great video and I mostly agree with you. A couple of points I would add: - Danielle shows her strength more in contemporary dance such as in Cool With You. - Hanni's facial expressions are very much part of her appeal.
The only dance genre that I feel that Hanni fell short on is contemporary. She came off a bit harsh when dancing to Cool With You, in comparison to Dani who I think did best in that choreo.
Makes sense cuz dani actually has learned ballet as a kid , hanni and haerin haven't. So No wonder Danielle stood out the most in Cool with you choreo.
I've recently gotten into NewJeans' music and have been dancing quite a bit to try and lose some weight and be more active. My friends often complimented me for my smoothness (as a male) but I feel like I still lack a lot in terms of balance and coordination. This video gave me a lot of insight into how my Idols dance, and in a way inspires me to try to dance more like my bias (who, as most usual, is regarded as the best dancer ;>) or at least try to. Thanks!
imo 1 hanni 2 haerin 3 danielle 4 minji 5 hyein - they are all amazing dancers but some lack in control, torso control and isolations but overall are good dancers and on of the best groups in dance in the 4th gen.
I agree with this. And yes, I think the #1 & #2 are interchangeable depending on techniques and the viewer's preference. I kinda like Haerin because I rarely see a female idols with clean alignment, power and good control. Hanni on the other hand, is not just technically good you can also feel the joy of dancing just by watching her
hanni shows more techniques (spatial awareness, groove, isolations, fluidity, good arm control, good balance, litefeet, interesting dynamics, appropriate energy and ofc facial expressions which greatly helps in performing) and is more consistent/doesnt shortcut moves thats why lots of dance accs rank her #1 in newjeans, but haerin is definitely the cleanest dancer and best in footworks in newjeans, im looking forward for more of her growth and confidence bc she has big potential. both of them are main dancer material for me and indeed interchangeable at times :)
Can you make an updated version of this for the comeback? Their choreo so far upleveled and so did the girls, they dance so much better now even though they were already really good and i think dani needs a better spot now 😂
the fans say Haerin is the best dancer, while people who have the knowledge say it’s Hanni. Same thing happened with Itzy. I’m starting to see a pattern here in groups where one member is both a strong open style dancer & idol dancer and the other is the best idol dancer in the group. There’s this myth of ‘over dancing’ that has been debunked several times but still prevalent within the community that kpop fans use to criticize a group’s objectively best dancer. Correct me if I’m wrong but many kpop fans don’t seem to appreciate open style dancers as much as good idol dancers (when they’re in the same group) and it’s sad to see great dancers go unnoticed.
Can you tell me more about Itzy main dancer situation? This is something I have noticed too honestly. I think it's mainly because of how restrictive kpop choreos have been and over emphasis of form, angles in kpop group dancing from 3rd gen especially, where the choreo lacks feeling and spontaneity and is too by the rule of the books, that really repressed the individuality and different flavors of the dancers in the group. Now Recently with Newjeans and 4th gen choreos they are getting a little more freedom to improvise onstage but still kpop idol dancing is what fans of kpop are used to, so dancers opinion and kpop fans who are used to idol dancing seem to differ.
@@studyloverami there has been a surge of Itzy’s fans over the past years who deny Yeji’s main dancer position in the group. Even the members themselves think she is the best dancer of the group, but many MANY fans keep denying her calibre and calling Chaeryeong as the best dancer in the group. They immediately turn defensive whenever someone else voices their opposing opinion. Worse, there are fans who think Chaeryeong is the only main dancer in Itzy 🤡 It could be because I’m used to watching professional dancers perform (Kaycee Rice, Bailey Sok, etc.) that I prefer street and strong open style dancers in kpop. There are actually more of them among male idols (SM’s male idols for example). Of course, most kpop idols are not on these dancers’ level, but Hanni’s dance interpretation is really satisfying to watch. Had she been trained to become a professional/backup kind of dancer, she would have totally nailed it. I can see that immense potential for her to be a great dancer.
@@studyloverami also right? Synchronization was a huge thing that characterizes kpop choreos, more so in 3rd gen era. Ofc it’s still an identifying essence of kpop, but Newjeans is breaking out of this and that’s one of the reasons why watching them perform feels SO refreshing to people who recognize them.
I love her as a performer, always doing her best, singing and dancing. Plus she puts a lot of efforts into making the most out of facial expressions every time which makes it very enjoyable to watch. Truly an all rounder. A-tier ❤
Undoubtedly both Haerin n Hanni are on par when it comes to dance ranking. Although most people are biased towards Hanni, which i understand since her style is more likeable and crowd gatherer but as a dancer i found it's pretty difficult to follow dance choreography through hanni since she isn't always precise and always add her own freestyle move with the choreography so i personally prefer Haerin dancing style more, it's easier to follow since she's always precise and sharp but still so elegant as well. It's always so satisfying to watch Haerin dance and she does a great job balancing the group whenever she dance in the center.
Also i would say Dani rank 3rd dancing since she has more fluidity than Minji. Minji is is great but she need to work more on her fluidity and stiffness, she'll be surpassing Dani in no time
What I love about Newjeans dancing is that it looks so high energy but the members make it look effortless like they're just taking a stroll in the park i also like the choreogeaphy so the choreographers do a great job 👍
Hey I really enjoy your dance analysis videos! I've been wondering if you're planning to make a Hybe girl groups dance ranking ? This would logically be the next step considering that you already made a Big 3 gg ranking
i agree with your rankings! i particularly love the grooviness of their choreography and its seems to go well with their strengths. All of them are so great, and especially for being so young! what are they putting in the water over there at hybe? lol 🤔😂
I do agree with your ranking, but when it comes to a matter who I would rather watch dance, I prefer Haerin. She is clean and detailed and has great footwork, but manages to put some groove into her steps, especially during breakdances or special dances at concerts/award stages, where she always brings her energy. Something about her dancing is very attractive to me, especially her clean footwork (and I am glad her stage presence is improving every era -- it seems she is gaining more confidence on stage!). But I can see the energy of each song in Hanni every time she dances. So while Hanni has the energy of the better dancer, I guess it comes down to preference for who people like to watch more often, and I prefer Haerin.
I always get a bit angry when I see no one talking about Hanni in the recording of songs or dance practices because I know that she is the best dancer and has honey sweet vocals which I love so I go to these kind of shorts or videos to make me feel better.😅
Ngl after watching their sbs gayo daejun 2023 performance and a few of their dance practices hyein has really improved from debut. I'd have to say hyein is a better dancer than minji and danielle. Her coordination, and groove is really nice. I'd rank her at least 3rd. I think hyein just has a bad inconsistency problem where in some performances i'll be honest she's kinda not good, but others she really stands out technique wise. Her coordination in super shy inkiyago performance (not the best) vs her coordination in the super shy dance practice (omg really good) are entirely different. But even currently I think she's working on that. My ranking would be Hanni -> Haerin -> Hyein -> Danielle -> Minji
You are the best Kpop dance analysis channel! Informative, entertaining, respectful. Thank you for your work 💖 Back to the video, I still have a hard time choosing between Hanni et Haerin, they have different strengths that I think complement each other. Also I couldn’t put my finger on why I sometimes thought Danielle’s dancing felt ‘awkward’, and it’s because of the way she bends her back, I know now 😅
Are you watching Street woman fighter 2 (or even just the clips on youtube)? Any thoughts or opinions so far?
i think waackxxxy would've won off the bat against kirsten if she chose a song that could showcase her isolations as much as her waacking (just like her partition freestyle against lip j years ago [th-cam.com/video/5SQlYsUbZe8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=fd8ms0maJdMhZZg7 at 1:26])
also i think they should choose a certain style to freestyle to since evaluating who is better between a waacking freestyler and a hiphop freestyler can be complicated (especially if the judges base their judgements on the vibe of the freestyle and not the showcase of technique itself 💀)
I like jam republic, tsubakill and bebe so far!
Jam republic all the way... Kristen is the best ❤

“That increases the risk for injuries” you are so right
poor hyein, atleast she is back
Completely agree with you about Hanni.
I saw that video and it made me realize why I thought Hanni was best. Really good one.
It’s because hanni is the strongest dancer! I think she’s the main dancer , Haerin (?) and minji are the lead dancers !!
Haerin is genuinely such an outstanding dancer for her age. From a dancer's perspective, she's amazing at idol dancing and could easily be a professional dancer if chose to (but she'd need training ofc). She really impressed with the amount of skills she has at her age.
Fr!! Ngl I prefer Haerin's dancing more than Hanni's
hanni looks like she's feeling herself and having fun on stage at all times and it's honestly the best thing.
i dont follow newjeans much but all the clips you showed of Hanni's dancing were so impressive - she seems so smooth in her dancing and to just really enjoy doing what she does
imagine being the group's best vocalist and dancer
Mia and Hyolyn agrees:
@@ddolo12mia is actually slightly weaker than sihyeon vocally

@@ananyasubramani4596Wow putting SinB on 4th is a hot take. I'll say recently I've also found Umji is doing better than SinB (at least in idol dancing), but back in the day SinB was clearly the best overall. I don't know whether she regressed or the other members surpassed her in terms of creativity and dynamics. It's an interesting case to study though, I haven't been keeping up with their dance videos recently, especially Yerin's
@@yakadefi9579 Imho, Yuju and Yerin have always been better than her.
Hanni's definitely who caught my eyes from the beginning
Same Hanni is the one that shines the most to me before i started supporting newjeans
Agreed! You can tell she enjoys performing. Her hype boy fancams itself shows how great and charming dancer/performer she is.
i agree. If haerin had more facial expressions then she could be just as good as hanni, but haerin is litterally the poker face emoji. Since theyre just kpop idols then ig it doesnt matter that much since thats just haerins personality
@@ngndnd
Haerin has improved a lot more recently. She smiles so much more confidently and vibes more which I love to see. It was during debut to Ditto era she was like 👁️👄👁️
during the whole performance...
Not planned haha
I've fallen in love with Hanni's grooviness since the Wadada cover. From that moment I knew she deserves to be called as the main dancer of NJ.
@@dhy0114 lee chaeyeon should not be considered to be a clean dancer, her style is way too casual/loose/light to be considered a "clean" dancer.
@@pjomono4579and chaeyeon's arms/hands are sometimes sloppy ... MOMO and hikaru for me is the best example of a clean dancer, haerin too
I feel in kpop there are more "clean" dancers like haerin than dancers like hanni.
@@daily_update87her height has a lot to do with it
i dont know much about technique and dance styles but hanni's has strong dancing ability bc she has musicality in her body
I always love your insight !! As a dancer myself here what I noticed ( I only will describe the error but they will be a lottt to say about how good they are !!)
5. Hyein
I actually have the same exact problem has her (was she also classically trained??). The lack of flexibly and strength in the upper body (back, neck and arms) is mainly her problem. Maybe I extrapoled but she is probably a more empathic dancer as in feel the music and thus lack sharpness in her move
4. Danielle
Reverse problem it’s the lower body (hips and legs) that lack fluidity. She know how to accentuate her face (and upper body) and if zoom in like in many idol show it look perfect. It will just show in American concert where the face is not the main concern
3. Minjin : I can’t find any default in her hip hop style. She would absolutely look magnetic if she can incorporate more “feminity” in her move as in : use more her hips and back and relax her neck. (Momo is a dancer I could typically see her become as in execute very powerful move with a feminine energy)
2.Haerin : A girl group machine dancer. (Almost) Perfection as an idol very precise and powerful.
1. Hanni : Could be a professional dancer
I differenciate an idol dancer and a professional dancer because it’s two distinct job and each require different strength.
I think Hanni could have been a professional dancer if she choose to (with more training of course).
Obviously it’s not because you’re the best dancer that you’re the best idol tho ✨
Thank you for the detailed comment!
In my opinion, Hanni is a dancer who captivates her audience with her mesmerizing and flawless dance moves, while also exuding genuine charm and dancing with a groove that adds a rhythmic and engaging quality to her performances.
love this description
i think this is a fair raiting all of the girls are great dancers and performers. my points:
heyin: i don't see it mentioned how the taller you are the harder it is to control your body and limbs (i personally struggle with that) plus shes still growing so those hip hop dances are harder on a body like hers just physics wise. you have to lower your center and be quick and persise. i find the way that she keeps up with her members is very admirable and she's a very good dancer who will no doubt evolve. plus her confidence executing the choreo and charisma is amazing. she's so young i forget sometimes but she's doing so great. go heyin.
danielle: danielle has such a strong presense she looks so happy and confident it's a joy to see her perform. dance wise i think that altho she excels in powerful moments something hints to me that this girl may have a ballet background or base. she is graceful and sharp in a way thats not very hip hop like. also the arching back she makes me think that she might be hyper mobile. either way shes so lovely. go sunny dani.
minji: i think minji is such a solid dancer and i agree with everything said in the video. i think sometimes she's overlooked for her dancing since i usually see people praising her visuals. i love her she's so energetic and strong. now she's also tall herself but ithink she's been training in hip hop longer than heyin and has a different built from her plus shes has had more time to come into her own as a dancer. and becauses she's a strong dancer whos on the taller side her gestures are bigger and look even more powerful and add to the group. so yeah. go queen minji
haerin: what a joy it has been to see haerin come out of her shell more this past year. her presision and clarity in her movements is incredible. i must admit at first i over looked her a bit because she seemed a bit held back. i think she can be slightly inconsistant in energy sometimes but she's so amazing she fits those dances very well and im very excited to see her grow into her own style. she's only 16 and yet amazing. go kitty kang
hanni: not much to say here. i love hani shes so good yet so effortless and professional. just amazing and i love her vibe and i think that she deserves her first place in this ranking (although if we're disecting technique haerincomes so close). i also to note that hani has a great body for hip hop styles the way that her limbs are closer to her core make it easier to move quickly. she has a very strong core and yeah she's slays. go hanni pham
overall all newjeans members work so well as a unit. i love watching their dance practises and performances they have a great chemistry and the choreos as crafted well so all members shine individually and together. they deserve all their hype. i feel like a proud older sister watching those girls do great things.
is you read all of this thank you so much i hope you have a great day!

I would love to see her show her artistry and personality through her dance a bit more tbh I think she improved quite significantly in this comeback.
i also agree Hanni is #1 bcs she is so effortless, she's always having fun dancing, also she always execute her technique perfectly
I AGREE WITH YOU. HANNI TO ME IS THE MOST BALANCED DANCER
Omg finally someone said it!❤
ooh I see that
I actually think Haerin is the Chaeryeong of newjeans, they both have solid skills.
While Hanni shows similar traits to Ryujin as a performer, there's more personalising of the choreos.

I was wondering if you would put them into commercial or open style haha, they kind of sit an in between still for me because of the blend of classic steps but still executed in quite a girlish manner generally
I had to laugh a little at how many times ‘powerful’ was used in this compared to the standard gg way of dancing (not that any way is superior, just different).
Nice minji showcase! Haven’t paid the most attention to her but I always thought she shined a little more in hip hop influenced sections.
I adore Hanni really she dances in such a happy, carefree way it makes me smile. And I LOVE that you used the Do it like that challenge clip because I really liked her in there
YES to Hanni doing locking like omg I can’t believe I never thought of it before. I feel like the way she keeps her centre of gravity low and that overall stance feels especially appropriate
I’m looking forward to seeing how they all develop! There’s a lot of star quality here
my personal ranking is actually the same as yours! I love haerin and hanni dacing styles a lot but I do think hanni is more eye catching and you can see her enjoying every step, and that is what sells the full performace for me
Totally agree with you Hanni is good at any style of dancing. But i think hip hop suits her the most
Was originally not a new jeans stan but Hannis talent just made me impossible not to follow her
Just like what their dance trainer/director said, Hanni has that natural groove
Yep agree Hanni is my no.1 dancer, they all can dance but hanni's dance took me to new jeans.
Lez Gaur!
Another banger from facts on fiction!! Great to see the difference between haerin and hanni! Good work as always
Thank you!!
Wow this is by far the best dance analysis that I have seen. I love how you explained something and give an example after! Much appreciated!!!
Hanni is an amazing idol, she’s perfect
I've been waiting for this video omg !! Thank you so much for the detailed explanations about your opinions, they're really informative and fun to watch. Would you ever consider uploading a video about choreos for beginner dancers to learn?
Thank you for the idea!
I would also love to see a video about choreos for beginners! as an almost entirely non-dancer with a number of weird movement patterns, I would also love to see a video or a short of k-pop dances with choreo that either teaches or reinforces good technique/movement patterns and good basic dance skills, although I don't know if that's even possible lol
i think hanni is so good at dancing and isolations because she used to do taekwondo
in my opinion minji is underrated dancer, but over all i agree with this rank, and i find out there is tktok video has same ranking like this and the comment said minji is not at 3rd and there is put her in last ranking too, thats makes me so sad, even minji doesnt have a lot part of sing or center but in dance and stage presence she's still doing best, her expression and stage presence like she was enjoy the stage and thats what i like for her
hanni’s dancing is my favorite
I completely agree with this ranking but I still greatly enjoy watching Danielle's fancams over Minji and Haerin's because of her presence but that's a whole other conversation lol
hanni's artistic sense (in both vocals and dance) is so good, especially since she just debuted like 1.5 years ago... she mustve worked really hard to cultivate that!! my fav idol in 4th gen fr. also i started waacking bc of her LOLLLLL
El baile de Hanni es increíble, apenas conocí a newjeans fue la primera en llamar mi atención en el escenario, lo hace re bien
Thank you for acknowledging MinJi's talent. 🙏🏻
She's so overlooked in the international kpop fandom it's actually crazy.
Hanni main dancer and vocals 🐰❤️
Reckon this is the most unbiased ranking for New Jeans. Anyone who argues otherwise is kidding themselves.
hanni is so talented, she could be main dancer and main vocal at the same time💝
Great video and I mostly agree with you.
A couple of points I would add:
- Danielle shows her strength more in contemporary dance such as in Cool With You.
- Hanni's facial expressions are very much part of her appeal.
This is pretty much how the order that was already in my head before even watching this😂
The only dance genre that I feel that Hanni fell short on is contemporary. She came off a bit harsh when dancing to Cool With You, in comparison to Dani who I think did best in that choreo.
Makes sense cuz dani actually has learned ballet as a kid , hanni and haerin haven't. So No wonder Danielle stood out the most in Cool with you choreo.
So Hannin is the best dancer and vocalist and also the best performer... girl wtf she is such an ace
Thanks!
could you analyse XG!! They trained so hard in dance since they were kids together
imo

2 haerin
3 danielle
4 minji
5 hyein - they are all amazing dancers but some lack in control, torso control and isolations but overall are good dancers and on of the best groups in dance in the 4th gen.
Danielle still remains best for me I love to watch her she’s having fun
I love that you explain clearly why you rank them a certain way and as a dancer, it also helps me improve! Thank you for these videos~ :))
Hanni Ace ❤❤
Personally my favourite is Minji
It told so right ab Hyein case when she is potential with risk injures that she got injured in her foot 😢
I agree with this. And yes, I think the #1 & #2 are interchangeable depending on techniques and the viewer's preference. I kinda like Haerin because I rarely see a female idols with clean alignment, power and good control. Hanni on the other hand, is not just technically good you can also feel the joy of dancing just by watching her
I think Seulgi from Redvelvet, momo from twice are clean, powerful female dancers
hanni shows more techniques (spatial awareness, groove, isolations, fluidity, good arm control, good balance, litefeet, interesting dynamics, appropriate energy and ofc facial expressions which greatly helps in performing) and is more consistent/doesnt shortcut moves thats why lots of dance accs rank her #1 in newjeans, but haerin is definitely the cleanest dancer and best in footworks in newjeans, im looking forward for more of her growth and confidence bc she has big potential. both of them are main dancer material for me and indeed interchangeable at times :)
Can you make an updated version of this for the comeback? Their choreo so far upleveled and so did the girls, they dance so much better now even though they were already really good and i think dani needs a better spot now 😂
Hanni is my role model
8:37 matched perfectly with the he bgm😹
the fans say Haerin is the best dancer, while people who have the knowledge say it’s Hanni.
Worse, there are fans who think Chaeryeong is the only main dancer in Itzy 🤡
It could be because I’m used to watching professional dancers perform (Kaycee Rice, Bailey Sok, etc.) that I prefer street and strong open style dancers in kpop.
A-tier ❤
In my heart* 😂❤
which one are you talking about
Hanni no.1
Undoubtedly both Haerin n Hanni are on par when it comes to dance ranking.
Oh that would be amazing
I thought about it, but I think I'll do Hybe girl groups individually
i agree with your rankings! i particularly love the grooviness of their choreography and its seems to go well with their strengths.
All of them are so great, and especially for being so young! what are they putting in the water over there at hybe? lol 🤔😂
haerin's dance style is more my preference, hanni & haerin are both good tho
Wooo Hanni!!!
I really like how you explain things in your videos so I can understand better
Hanni 👍
Same I watch her fancam ❤
Thank you for your work 💖
Back to the video, I still have a hard time choosing between Hanni et Haerin, they have different strengths that I think complement each other. Also I couldn’t put my finger on why I sometimes thought Danielle’s dancing felt ‘awkward’, and it’s because of the way she bends her back, I know now 😅
Thank you so much!
Great ranking. Sound accurate
I agree with this so much especially haerin’s and hanni’s they are both really good dancers
