The expression on Hans face was priceless when MacLaine released Holly’s watch band. I can’t even begin to describe it. But basically I guess a person in their head if they even had time would be thinking. Aww CRAP this is it!!!!!!
this is straight from the production notes. When Alan was dropped in at final scene, they were going to count to three. Instead of releasing him at three, they released him at two so he could look even more surprised. Looks like it worked out pretty well.
It definitely is but IMO the jumping off the building scene in the first Lethal Weapon movie tops that one. That movie came out one year prior to Die Hard and that scene doesn't take itself too seriously and in a way it has a mix of comedic and serious elements to it instead of being 100% serious because at the end of the day they both make safe landing and are still alive.

Last month I saw Die Hard for the first time at a local theatre & Alan Rickman was amazing. The fall scene at the end was incoming brilliant. It gets screened every Xmas in theatres.
I loved die hard too, but I fell in love with him as Severus Snape. No one, could ever play Snape like Alan, no one. Now or ever. He didn't actually play Snape, he was Snape. Severus Snape will be an iconic character for decades and decades. Mark my words!

He made such an incredible villain, not only here but also in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. At his core though, he was indeed a highly charismatic and sophisticated English gentleman.
Actually in his film ‘Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves’, he’s the best one in the film and that’s why I even rewatch that film - - so hilarious as the ‘bad guy’ (‘…..’and cancel Christmas!’.

It’s crazy to think he made it to Hollywood with Die Hard around the age of 42 and went on to have a great career with the Harry Potter films,Robin Hood,Sense & Sensibility and many many more

Now Bruce Willis has had to quit acting, do to a debilitating illness.
I remember Alan Rickman from this time early late 80s/90s like yesterday. He looked like a young rock star. Hard to believe he gone, he’d be nearly 80 years old now if alive, RIP
What an incredible actor, product of a grammar school education before our country went bonkers and got rid of them all. Rickman was from a council estate. If he was born now, we'd have been deprived of one of the stage and silver screens greatest actors.
